Sophie D was great, even though it was quite tricky for her to get hold of me on the phone whilst I was at work. However, Sophie persevered in contacting me and was efficient, friendly and helpful once we spoke. Thank you Sophie D!
Having suffered from a couple of hiccoughs during the processing of non-standard transfers, I was pleasantly surprised that Sophie D stepped up and offered to be the lead for CA to ensure that future transactions were processed correctly. Since then, I am pleased to report they have been ! Unusual in this age of impersonal online banking and phone based apps for someone to provide what feels like committed, effective personal service. Many thanks, Sophie
We have recently bought a flat in France and Britline were brilliant at helping us at each stage of the process. The on-boarding was excellent and highly efficient; they also added my wife as a joint account holder with no fuss at all. When we experienced complications with our notaire involving payment of the funds to purchase the property Britline were very proactive in sorting out the problem and resolving the issue. Many thanks especially to Sophie D in their transfer team. If only all banks were so approachable and personal in their service! I'd say they are an essential part of buying a property in France.
We banked with Britline from 2005 until we moved back to the UK in 2023. We have just closed our account now that all our financial dealings with France have been concluded.
Britline has provided excellent customer service and banking faciities. The online banking facility was extremely useful while we were living in France. Whenever we needed to speak to someone at the bank, it was easy to do so via phone or through the messaging facility on the account, and being able to do so in English was a great advantage.
We would recommended Britline to anyone thinking of moving to France.
Selling our property in France after 22 years was physically and emotionally draining. However the support from Britline staff was superb and their help getting through some of the administrative complexities was incredible. I would like to mention one member of staff in particular who was pleasant, efficient and human. thanks Britline and thanks to Sophie D.
Excellent service this morning. Such a relief to speak to someone who was patient and understanding and very helpful with sorting our problems out.
I was looking for car insurance while in France and Britline was recommended on an expat page. The number was easy to find and english speaking which was great. The agent was friendly and helpful. I explained that i had 8 years ncd and the price quoted was €39 per month. This was great, and i wanted to proceed quickly as i was working in the afternoon and needed to have the car insured.I also thanked him for not trying increase the price like i find happens in the uk. After a couple of emails i was sent one saying that the price
was now €51 euros because i didn't have 9 years ncd. I emailed back saying that i never said that i had 9 years ncd and if i wanted to insure the car it would be €51euros per month. I felt i had no choice but to go ahead so i could go to work . I emailed Mr Small in the afternoon to confirm that i had said 8 years ncd and if the conversation was recorded. It was and i did say 8 years, also stating it was a mistake on his part. I know its not much money each month but for me money is pretty tight. I advise to take caution when getting your quotes.

Excellent service - patient, thoughtful and precise - from a Mr Wakefield last week online who helped me download information needed to update my account use. This really is an excellent company providing prompt top notch advice for its clients. Highly recommended. This was not a one off experience but part of consistently overall superb service.
We have been Britline customers for nearly 25 years. Their service has always been excellent, much more like private banking than normal retail. Our personal advisors always expedited our requests and communicated well.
We have now returned to the UK and wish we could use Britline for our UK banking as our recent experience with a UK bank has been dire. French organisations are not known for their customer focus, in contrast, Britline is a shining example of how it should be done.
We have been with Britline for 24 years now and I have to say they have been without doubt the nicest, most efficient, most helpful bank I have ever held an account with. When something does go awry, they take the time to get it sorted. They are one of those rare organisations that always make contact with them a good experience. If you are looking for a bank here in France speak to these guys.
I recommend C&A Britline in the highest terms and without reservation for their excellent service.
Thank you Pascale and especially Christine Bennett.
Lucia Sweeney.
I would rate my dealings with Britline as 5** Pascale was so helpful and patient, nothing was too much trouble. I felt reassured and confident that things were being dealt with professionally. There was plenty of telephone and email contact throughout.
Positive and helpful response to queries regarding additional facilities required, followed up by a quick postal delivery with necessary documentation and additional response when needed.
Over all an excellent and professional service.
The Britline Team at Credit Agricole Normandie are the best ! The service they provide is brilliant. I have an advisor - a real human being with a name !!! I can contact the team directly by email or phone and they always respond and are always very patient and helpful. This is what a banking service should be.
Having recently sold property in France have closed Britline Accounts with whom have banked for many years. Throughout those years have generally received excellent service. Closure of accounts proved to be a straightforward process thanks to Pascale and his colleagues.
We have been with Britline for six years, and have to leave because we need to bank with the same company as we have our insurances with (in order to get a discount). The insurance office is also very close to our home. Anyway. I just wanted to leave a review about how good Britline have been for us since we have been in France. Our personal Banker Catriona Bainton Smith has always been helpful and supportive. I would recommend Britline if you are moving to France.
What incredible service and customer care we have received from Britline - specifically from Diane Ogilvie. She has gone 'way over' what we expected to help us when my wife had her bank card stolen. She has been the most responsive person we've ever encountered and helped make us to resolve a terrible situation. She is truly superb and it is important she gets recognition for this.
We have been with BritlineCA since our move to France nearly 2 years ago , they have been excellent with every request we have needed. Sue our account mgr is brilliant, responsive and tailors our products to our needs.
Immediate response from Sophie Dumbleton to an error on my part in providing incorrect information relating to a funds transfer request.
The transaction was quickly cancelled, corrected and the transfer re-submitted. This went well beyond the call of duty and Ms Dumbleton's spontaneous response avoided any complications for the recipient company.
I have been banking with Britline for 3 years. I am based in the UK but spend a lot of time in France. The Britline French banking service is outstanding. The English speaking helpline offers brilliant and efficient advice about how to navigate services in France. Given the daily frustrations I experience as a customer of many services in the UK, it is a breath of fresh air to work with a banking services provider who is truly customer focussed. There is often a lot of paper work necessary to do relatively simple transactions in France. The Britline service makes all this very comprehensible and manageable. Special shout out for my banking adviser - Catriona Bainton Smith - who is incredibly professional and wonderfully helpful.
