British Airways Fraud

British Airways Review

I’m extremely disappointed with British Airways. After I clearly requested on 11 November that my Nectar card be unlinked and all Avios conversions stopped, BA failed to action it. As a result, on 24 November, 800 Nectar points were taken from my account without my authorisation.

This follows an earlier incident where BA failed to transfer my disability and medical information during a rebooking, leaving me without an appropriate seat and causing significant stress at a time when I’m undergoing cancer recovery.

These repeated failures have caused real distress and financial loss. I no longer trust BA with my data or my travel needs, and I will not be using them again.

Absolutely Atrocious!

I was lied to about being able to use Avios points. I transferred all my Avios points at that time to BA yet around 20,000 are missing from my account and despite writing two separate complaints via email and their portal neither have been responded to. I have made 18 phone calls to try and get my points added and to no avail. I am now forced to go to Rip Off Britain consumer affairs TV show about this theft of my points and being lied to by the foreign call centre in Janauary 2025 and up until travel in May 2025 nothing has been rectified. Upon arrival in Antigua there was no advice on how or where to get our pre booked shuttle. We arrived at the hotel which was supposed to be 5 Star - it was more 3 star. My room curtains were hanging off the rails both sides and so couldn’t close. The light switches didn’t work. The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. The shower rail kept collapsing. There was no kettle in the room, only a dirty coffee maker with an ‘old filter bag’ - disgusting! I reported the lack of a kettle and waited nearly three hours for one to be sent to my room. After three calls I eventually got two, one of which did not work. The room did not have milk cartons like any other hotel and so I could not make tea anyway. I reported everything at guest services and heard nothing throughout our stay.

On our first full day I headed to the 7am Yoga class but the teacher didn’t show up!

Breakfast buffet was fine but table had no basics like tea and coffee without waiting an age for staff to bring things over by which time you were done eating hoping all the while you didn’t choke on it!

Headed to the beach and tried to order a cocktail as was supposed to be an all-inclusive resort so wanted to make the most. They didn’t have the ingredients to make a margarita. Asked for a Pina Colada but they had no rum. Ordered a Mojito but they had no mint. Ended up with a standard punch as that’s all they had however, they had no straws so ended up having it with a spoon! After the beach I tried the main bar to get an alcoholic drink but they didn’t open until 3pm! This did not feel like a holiday, all inclusive or an any star rated hotel.

Tried to book the restaurants which we were told was a ‘must’ to eat at. All were fully booked on our first morning there. Eventually got reservations for the Hunter Restaurant. Despite booking when we arrived we were told we would have to wait for a table to be free? We then waited over an hour for our order to be taken then another hour for the food which was disgusting. The buffet was far better and the buffet was basic stuff.

Service in general was very slow, although there were a few exceptions. The hotel needs complete refurbishment and rooms need to be fully equipped with working fixtures and fittings.

In general, I will never book with BA again. I will never stay at the Royalton again, as customer service with both entities is non existent. I want my Nectar points back! Next action will be legal, so done!

British airways , totally disorganised

Why are British Airways so badly organised and have no idea of customer service. Every flight we take, probably 3 times a year is delayed, the plane is dirty and the business class seats broken, ( surely not safe to fly, or sell this seat) We have now missed our connection, another holiday ruined!!! The entertainment is well below average.
So !! We missed our connecting flight. Put in a hotel at Heathrow, the shuttle from Manchester, business class, ran out of food.
The hotel, dinner included. Buffet. The food was so appalling, no body would eat it. The restaurant was dirty. Tables full of dirty plates.
Come on BA, I can’t have my bags, it’s -7, I’m dressed for Cape Town, treat your customers with more respect.

Ripp off for the company's change of schedule

The company changed my schedule, so I could not get to the departure airport on the same day. They wrote "If you'd like to book a different flight, please call us". Called them and they would change the booking if I payed for the new ticket!
They call that customer service? I call it a very bad joke!

British Airways, never again

I write to express my great disappointment with the treatment we received on my recent flight No BA 256 from Delhi on the 19th December 2023.
The first problem was the extra legroom I had booked for our party including my wife. We discovered that the plane had been changed from the original type and the seating arrangements differed, but I was not informed of this even though we were advised at check-in that we did have the correct seats.
After discussing with one of the attendants I went forward to attempt to solve the issue with Julie the flight senior attendant,.
Once I had returned to my seat I raised the inflight screen which immediately fell down and struck my leg, with this I returned to find Julie to report this and she accompanied me back to my seat and saw to her amazement that the screen did fall down without any interference, she tested the arm of the unit and agreed that it was indeed unstable and advised that the problem would be reported to an engineer to be repaired.. Again, I discussed with her about being relocated to extra leg room seats to which she stated that she would only up-grade my wife on her own to a better seat knowing full well that my wife would not accept this as she will not travel alone. All the problems would have been resolved at that point if she had agreed to move myself & my wife as that would give my wife the leg room we had paid for and our friend would have return to his own seat and myself from the defective seat y problem did not end there as when our meal was being served the screen once again fell and struct my leg for a second time which ended up being bruised and this was witnessed by a member of the cabin crew who reported it back to Julie. After a few hours the captain came to our seats and took hold of the screen and implied that I was making the whole thing up and even stated that Julie felt that I had moved the screen myself causing it to fall even though I was standing behind her at the time it happened he even stated that the young cabin stewardess had stated that I again had interfered with the screen causing it to fall. I was getting very annoyed by this time and my fellow guests confirmed they had witnessed the incidents. The captain continued with his accusations until I pointed out that a section of tape had at some time been attached to the screen arm to prevent it from falling. Following this he took a different approach laughing and joking and suggested a couple of bottles of Champagne would help resolve the issue, On leaving the plane at Heathrow Julie offered me a white plastic bin bag containing two bottles which I declined suggesting she gave them back to the captain as I did not feel a bribe was in order, however she insisted, The ironic thing was that going through security we were advised that as the bottles were not in a plastic sealed pack they would be confiscated. I explained that they had been given by the pilot as a gesture of good-will but was advise that all BA staff would know that they would not be allowed through without the correct sealed packaging, so what was the point.

BA raided my flight money by over £80…

BA raided my flight money by over £80 when the cancelled flight to war torn Tel Aviv was refunded, note the word WAR..
8 emails later and after one of their phone operatives put the phone down on me, they stated the price had gone done versus the original booking price, hence the deduction...
Oh yes that will be the non existant GHOST FLIGHT you are sending then!!! Come get a grip nothing in your treatment of me warrants any merit, shocking but sad sign of the times...

Date Night Away booking for Brighton i360

We booked a ‘flight’ on the i360 in Brighton through datenightaway.co.uk and had a great experience. The booking process was easy and customer service from both the Date Night Away and i360 teams was exemplary.

Upon arrival, we had an option to have our photograph taken as a souvenir and there was a quick search of our bags to ensure everyone’s safety. It was a glorious day, so we sat in deck chairs looking out to sea while we waited to board. There was also a small bar area for anyone who wanted a drink while waiting.

The ‘flight’ moved slowly and gently upwards, providing us with the most amazing views of Brighton in all directions. There was an option to have a drink during the journey too, so we decided to treat ourselves.

After gently descending again, we went into a small exhibition, which explained more about the i360 and how it was built. There’s a gift shop you can browse too, should you wish to.

We followed this with a lovely afternoon tea on a beachfront terrace. (There’s a large indoor area if you prefer not to eat outdoors or the weather is less favourable.)

Staff were friendly and approachable both at Date Night Away and the i360. I’d highly recommend this ride and would definitely book through datenightaway.co.uk again for both this and other trips!

No concessions tickets available

Turned up without a ticket but was able to book tickets for the next "flight" without a problem. Security check all very efficient. Inside pod very clean and views were ok. Its a shame that attraction does not offer concessions to over 65's as is common with most attractions within UK. Did not purchase any refreshments because not needed on such a short visit, but did notice that drinks were on the high side. Improvement needed on acoustics as could not hear any of the announcements.

Disabled friendly trip i360 Brighton

We were gifted a flight on the i360, plus afternoon tea. We had not preadvised the staff that one of us is wheelchair bound. The staff were very helpful and supportive, nothing was too much trouble. They checked we were ok, whilst having afternoon tea and ensured we boarded the flight without any problems. This venue is wheelchair friendly & I would highly recommend it.

It's great to experience again our national airline British Airways at its best!
Both outbound and in, the Crew had best part of 25min to serve meals and drinks and collect and prepare for landing -- which they did do very efficiently and smiley pleasantly -- both meals, both legs nice! My preferred, the return flight spicy tofu, mozzarella salad and pudding a lovely choc and vanilla mousse -- professional and top notch hospitality crew, great BA experience, well done British Airways!!

I360 ok but absolute rip off for the…

I360 ok but absolute rip off for the price of drinks. £10 for a glass of Engish sparkling wine. When will these people learn that if they were reasonably priced, the whole experience would be enhanced and good reviews would be forthcoming. I estimate that less than 10% of people bought drinks - hence why most people give only average review. Get your act together BA.

The security looking in your purse without asking…

The security don 't have a x ray scanner at the entrance and they are searching through your bag and your personal belongings without asking. Mens are searching in womens bags and they didn't ask me if i agree for them to have a look inside my purse. They are supposed to ask first and if you don't agree to have a scanner to scan your bag. This is a normality for a UK attraction visit in Brighton, not what is happening at the security point. We all want to be safe, but there are more pleasant ways to make the people feel safe and not embarraced of what they might carry in their personal purse.

The British Airways i360 in Brighton

I went to Brighton and went on the i360. It was a great experience.

I arrived and had my photograph taken for a souvenir. I then went in the Exhibition of how the i360 was built. This was fascinating. Then came the ride. It moved slowly up and down and so you could walk around the ride. The only down side was the drinks were expensive but with the ride being approximately twenty five minutes you didn't really need a drink.

The staff were very helpful in getting us boarded on time and answered questions about the ride. They were all very knowledgeable and very approachable.

The views you get when you're at the top are breathtaking. One thing I would like is for the ride to have a board to say what is where. So when the ride is at the top you can look on this board and see where different places were. Yhay would have made it more interesting.

All in all a brilliant ride and well worth the money. The souvenir book with your pictures was excellent too. When I go to Brighton again I'll go on the i360 again. I recommend the ride to everyone.
