Called to cancel my mother's account in approximately November or December of 2024 because she was in hospice care at that time with constant caregivers and hospice personnel coming in and out and we couldn't use the arming function anymore. She had been a customer for many years. Was a little busy and didn't check but they kept the autopay going. Called back when she passed away in March to let them know they needed to cancel the account (but bank canceled her credit card so they could not autodraft - thank goodness!). Called again and they told me I needed to forward her death certificate. Did that and they are still sending me bills. It is a monthly reminder that my mom passed away. I've asked them to stop sending bills, but they don't. You'd think someone could get this corrected. Doesn't give me much faith in their ability to cancel an account for anyone. I would not use this company now just because I've tried so many times to cancel and they just will not do it. This system (and they should be able to just look at their records) hasn't been utilized in almost a year.

Brinks Home Security Review – Beware!
Brinks Home Security is nothing but fraud. They lock customers into contracts that are nearly impossible to break, even when you’re paying on time and they fail to provide the services promised. Please do not trust this company with your home security.
They subcontract work to third parties who travel from different locations, leaving you waiting and feeling unsafe from the start. The installation was sketchy, and the equipment was faulty. My alarm constantly triggered false alerts, bringing law enforcement to my home and nearly resulting in fines — all because of Brinks’ defective sensors.
I spent countless hours calling, emailing, and escalating complaints, but nothing was ever resolved. Despite canceling, they continue to try to sell a supposed “balance owed” for services that were never properly rendered.
Brinks does not care about their customers or their safety. Their customer service is unprofessional, unhelpful, and dismissive. If I could give zero stars, I would. This company has caused me nothing but stress, and I will continue warning others so they don’t experience the same.

I had a camera installed and I thought batteries for my existing equipment from Brinks Home. The service tech wasn't very skilled in installing batteries I think because he installed new motion detectors in doing so he put a hole in my newly painted wall. I didn't notice this until after he left. I called Brinks and they sent a list of what I need to do then sent them receipts and I'll get reimbursed. They don't understand the equipment is not working and until that's fixed I can't get the hole repaired and painted. I am seeking legal advice to ascertain what if anything I can do legally.

If I could give a negative number I would. This company is infuriating and stay away. Not only will they not come to the house to move the equipment to my new address. They’re not sure if they have anyone to install the new equipment at my new address which is 12 miles north of my current address. Then they tell me that I need to pay for the next 19 months for a system THEY CAN’T INSTALL!!!! So to recap, I have to pay for a system that they have no one to install said system. Or I have to pay $1700 to get out of the system that once again THEY HAVE NO ONE TO INSTALL SAID SYSTEM. So basically I’m being held hostage by a security company.

The personal experience was exceptionally rare and I was so pleased to receive it from Kiarria she took the time to address every question we had, we never felt rushed when she spoke to us it was as if we were talking to a friend and to someone who enjoys their job, and again I want to thank Ms.Kiarria

Had Brinks since 2006 and noticed in 2023 that HOA was somehow disengaging system probably through the wiring in the building’s utility room and entering apartment to steal incriminating HOA financials , etc. that I had been gathering for 5 years. Brinks promised a new system in October 2024 if I stayed but came out instead and merely changed the panel which I do not like and leaving old 2006 wiring and sensors. Since that time the HOA Board supporters have been coming into my apartment whenever they want undetected. Brinks couldn’t care less about my longevity with the company. Have no choice but to cancel service in October since Brinks refuses to come out to assess the situation without talking about $150 per hour when it failed to honor its promise to install “brand new system.”

This company does not take responsibility for its unclear and undisclosed policies. Their cancellation policy is not transparently displayed on their portal, making it difficult for customers to understand the terms fully. You will need to look at your original contract, even if it was six or ten years ago. When questioned, the company refuses to acknowledge that the policy is missing or incomplete on the website; instead, it shifts the responsibility onto the customer. This lack of transparency feels deceptive and undermines trust. A reputable business should present all critical policies—especially those related to refunds and cancellations—whenever any transaction is completed. In addition, when we have issues, it was not resolved.
Malfunction (Living Motion)
Beware, they only service under an extended service agreement as a resolution. In essence, the customer is responsible for all maintenance, and Brinks' role is limited to observing and checking the device (which you will need to own, purchase, or lease). They will try to upsell you if you have issues. Avoid renewing or purchasing from this organization, as they offer no genuine benefits.

Spoke to too many representatives each of them kept sending me to someone else. It would beneficial for both company and customer if one person had the ability to help in more than one area. Unfortunately due to this I didn’t sign up. Most security systems have basic information online. It would help if the basic information was online as well.

DO Not Recommend ! Absolutely the worst company .I took over someone else’s device and was not happy the experience with brinks and wanted to cancel but they act like I have no right to do so . They have been so unprofessional, unorganized they need to go out business.

Finally glad to be rid of Brinks. It’s a real challenge trying to cancel as a customer. They act like they own you and have a script to go through to try and deflect you from leaving.
They don’t like being told it’s none of their business why you as a customer with FREE WILL are leaving them. And when they rile you up enough because they’re just not listening to your instructions they want to disconnect the call.
Utter shambles of a company. I’ve joined AlarmGrid. So much better and I can leave without argument when I like,

It’s a scam please do not waste your time and money.
They did over charge me over 10 times. I did ask to speak to a manager the representatives always hang up the phone no body calls back if asked. Worst customer service ever and they do over charge it’s literally scamming misleading and stealing clients money.

In January 2023, I was scammed by Brinks Home Security (Skyline Security), and it's been a nightmare ever since. I was a satisfied ADT customer when I received a call that appeared to come from ADT (my caller ID even said "ADT"). The caller claimed I needed to upgrade to a new 5G system. A man came to my home with an official-looking ADT badge and claimed ADT was going out of business and being taken over by Brinks.
Under false pretenses and outright lies, he convinced me to sign a new contract -- supposedly just for an upgraded panel -- on an iPad I couldn't fully review. Soon after, I realized I was being billed by both ADT and Brinks. When I contacted ADT, they confirmed none of what I had been told was true, and they had no idea who the person was.
This individual cut the wires to my functioning ADT system, took my ADT cameras, and left me with just one camera he had on him. He promised a second camera would be sent -- it never arrived. I later discovered he'd hidden my old panel behind wrapping paper in my closet.
Since May 2025, my Brinks system hasn't worked. They've refused to send a technician until September -- yet they continue charging me full price for a non-functioning service. Despite paying my balance in full and knowing my contract has ended, they still refuse to let me cancel.
Even worse, Brinks obtained my personal information illegally through Skyline, as revealed in multiple news reports and lawsuits. I'm on the national Do Not Call Registry, which proves they had no legal way of contacting me.
There are numerous links to credible reports on this widespread fraud online.
Brinks' customer service is beyond frustrating -- mostly automated lines that hang up, impossible to get help, and when you do, they pass the blame onto Skyline (which is part of their operation). Their CEO even issued an apology about these scams, but nothing has been done to make things right. All they care about is charging you.
I haven't felt safe in my home since 2023. Why would anyone trust a security company that operates through fraud, lies, and identity theft? If someone contacts you saying they're from your security provider, verify directly with your provider -- Brinks' scammers often impersonate legitimate companies to lock you into long contracts under false pretenses.
Do not trust Brinks or Skyline. Their business model relies on deception, and they will not care if your system stops working or if you were scammed. They will keep charging you no matter what. Run far away from this company as fast as you can!

Rosie was a pleasure to talk to and very informative. Worked through different scenarios with me for estimates (Number of camera, warranties, etc). Wait times not too bad.
