Horrible product policy
Horrible product policy. They make you sign up for a minumum of 3 accounts and do not make it clear that the number you pay at the end is 3x what they show on the website. And customer service will only hife behind T&Cs. I never had the urgency to write a review for any product in my life until this.

Buyer beware. The product is not suitable for smaller companies as no single user subscription is available. When signing up it is advertised as a monthly payment but before you know it you have paid for the full year in advance which in our case was €468

Box is the new AOL.
I've used Box for 6 years, recently decided to switch to OneDrive, however Box charged me for a full year, days before the switch. Ok, I cancelled the account anyway and they said I was still on the line for the year - that definitely reminded me of how AOL tried to shaft its customers but not worth my time to fight. However, there is no way to pay unless I reactivate my account, which means the clock starts over. And now, I don't trust them to cancel the account as requested. There is a link to the "Billing Team" in the accounts and billing section of their website but it dumps you into a generic community forum. There is no other way to contact them regarding billing - just the community forum. And, the forum is moderated so that your complaint never sees the light of day. Box seems to be pulling that same stunt other dying companies pull where they prevent you from leaving in order to falsely prop up their account numbers. You're better off with OneDrive or Google Drive, you know Microsoft or Google isn't going to play games.
Lackluster hosting service, abysmal customer service + theft
The actual service they provide is difficult and complicated to use and doesn't sync well across multiple users, even when using at the enterprise level. As it is, it's too expensive AND a lackluster alternative when there are so many others available that work without effort.
As others have noted, cancellation seems to me purposely difficult. I have sent dozens of emails requesting cancellation, and continue to be billed month after month. At this point, it's surprising that there hasn't been lawsuits or even governmental action against this company, which appears to be stealing money from it's customers.
Beware before you sign. Cancellation only after renewal!!!!
They are quick to take your money and it is almost impossible to cancel. The option does not appear until after your renewal. Then you have to post in a public forum to get help that never responds. OneDrive, Dropbox or Google are so much better.
At least They Could Cancel it Correctly
I have to say that Box support is terrible. Some time ago I had to change my email address as I was hacked. That email was unfortunately associated with my Box account. I have tried on several times to change The primary email from that one to a different one without success. - I was told that my password was wrong (even though I had signed in with that very same password). I had verification emails sent to my new email several times and clicked on the link only to be repeatedly brought to an error page. I have also tried to change my password but to no avail. I contacted support about all of this and had basically zero help. The one person who did reply to me had clearly not even read my message correctly. (but in fairness at least they did reply) Anyway, the reason why I discovered all this was that I hadn't used Box in some time but needed a cloud service so I opened it up to see about subscriptions. Having quickly discovered the level of support that I would maybe receive down the line I decided Box was not the service for me and proceeded to cancel my account. Thankfully - Unbelievably rather, the cancellation process did actually work.

Made My Life Harder
Legitimately the worst large data storage service I have ever used, even when compared to completely free services like google drive or OneDrive. It doesn't come close to "integrating seamlessly" with other data storage formats like it claims and has made my job so much harder. The worst part? You can't edit the size of the windows to be able to view full file names, you have to preview the file to just see the TITLE, and the preview rarely loads well. Godawful service, going to be warning my contacts in the industry not to touch it with a 10 ft pole.

I haven’t even bought anything but price comparing to Walmart and the first two items were Clorox clean up $2.00 more and Bounty paper towels was $7.00 more. Ridiculous!!! Don’t even bother.

Worst service ever!!
I work for a large company that has selected this service because of compliance reasons. It is a nightmare to work with box.com! Uploads are very slow, it is impossible to know how many files have been uploaded, I keep getting emails for hours about 'phantom' uploads. I asked the support to tell me how many files have been uploaded so far and they said that this is buggy and that they are working on that. This is a core functionality that does not work correctly!!! And then downloading goes at less than 1 Mbps. We are corporate costumers. I asked the support service and of course they didn't provide any real solution. Really the worst experience of my life.

I have now found an alternative to Box.com. it used to be great, but now people with a private link can no longer preview or download files reliably. After contacting support I was told to try using a different browser.....it's not good enough.

Yes sadly I had the same problem as most of you. Everyone with being up charges and then charged 3x the agree rate. My bill want from about $40 and month to over $900. There was some kind of mistake that I tried to clear up but they wouldn't work with me and they hijacked my files. Unless I payed them. It's extortion. The sad thing is I have been a customer for about 15 just to get screwed by them. So sad and disappointed with there service.

We attempted to cancel Box.com multiple times and were still charged with the renewal fee. After several contacts with the company the charge has not been reversed. We opened a ticket and followed up through the only number you can get a human on and still we have not been refunded our $1,800

Very mediocre syncing tool. Every time is restart my computer it has the re-read all the files, which takes a lot of time and processing power (hours). Next to that, every time I reinstall or change the folder location it doubles my files in a separate folder with my email-adress behind it and I have to wait till everything is downloaded (150GB) before I can delete the duplicate folder.. This is not a bug, it's a feature according to Box. Great...
