No honor to out the door price
I called over the phone from Virginia to help set this up and explicitly asked for an "out-the-door price" after being quoted a $29 service call fee. The technician (Adam) quoted $120 total. When the work was completed in Boulder for my daughter (a college student), they didn't honor $120 as the total price—they charged $120 for the lockout AND added the $29 service call back on top. When paying, the tech mentioned there was a fee for using a credit card, but completely failed to mention she could use a debit card to avoid it. On top of that $149 subtotal, they stacked a payment processing fee which caused an inflated tax calculation, bringing the final bill to $173.78 before tip for 3 minutes of work (according to my daughter). And regarding tip, Adam is his own business as Aladdin Locksmith and really shouldn’t be asking for a tip in my belief that owners of a business shouldn’t ask for tips. Classic bait-and-switch pricing—get an itemized agreement in writing before letting them start any work.
