Not safe

Car that arrived was not the car specified on the app and the driver was not the driver either. I witnessed the same thing for a colleague at the hotel yesterday. Very clear in the app the location and road I wanted to be dropped off at and the driver - who had no idea where he was going - dropped me at a different road behind it necessitating a 10 minute walk in the sun (because there was no way through to the address I requested) in a city I am broadly unfamiliar with. When I realised it wasn't the right place the driver asked me to pay again. Bolt needs to take some responsibility and make sure this doesn't happen (it seems to care only of revenue rather than safety). Poor.

Overall a fantastic company with 5*…

Overall a fantastic company with 5* support, thorough checks, honest service and competitive prices. Have used Bolt previously, switched to another company, but as a returning customer I cannot fault the service and support that Bolt offers and will continue to use.

70% of drivers are very friendly

70% of drivers are very friendly, and conversations often turn into something you'd like to continue after the ride. However, I've noticed that among the 30% most unpleasant drivers—excluding those who don't respond to a greeting or remain silent from beginning to end and blast a football match or aggressive music without asking—the worst are those who borrowed someone's car and might be working as subcontractors. These are the most awful drivers. Like the one in March 2026 who, after accepting my fare, didn't get out to open his trunk (which opened automatically) but got back in furious and dumped my bulky item on the sidewalk, telling me, "The ride is over," without giving me a reason. Then, when he saw me taking his picture, he got back out of his car and told me in a threatening tone that I had to delete the photo from my phone. I alerted your department but I have not received any updates regarding the sanctions that should have been taken against this individual, who behaved like a criminal.

Waited 30+ minutes for a driver who was…

Waited 30+ minutes for a driver who was assigned but not moving. After 30 minutes of total waiting I had no choice but to cancel — and was then charged a cancellation fee. When I contacted support, they repeatedly dismissed my complaint with copy-paste responses and refused to escalate, despite me clearly explaining that no service was delivered. Bolt’s own terms state the cancellation fee exists to compensate drivers for their time — the driver never moved toward my pickup, so there was nothing to compensate. Terrible customer service and a billing practice that charges passengers for their own failures. Avoid if you’re in a time-sensitive situation.

Dependable Bolt

Always a discount to be had, plus, many drivers available when needed.
It’s often more viable to get a bolt than take the train or bus at times.
Rarely use any other taxi service.

Very good service!

I feel safe with riding in the Bolt service. They are usually prompt on the pickup. The cars are clean, the prices reasonable, and if you schedule a pickup, they have always been on time.

Our driver Kamilla was excellent

Our driver Kamilla was excellent. She arrived on time and called me to say she was 50 yards away up a one way street to save time driving round to get right by us which was a great idea. We were dropping off two on the way to our destination which we often do and she had no problem with that. I said I would pay extra as it was a little out of the direct route. My wife is registered with a disability so we always ask the drivers to take us through the gate of our complex to the property and then I stay in the car to return to the gate for exit. If this is done willingly I add a tip. On this occasion because she was so good and such a good driver I actually paid double the stated fare. If I could I would always ask for her for rides when my wife was included. Excellent service.
