Me and my wife recently purchased your model Nest 3-sit sofa from Bolia in Norway.
After waiting for it to be delivered for a month, we where very disappointed when it didn't fit in to the door of our stairway.
So I had to send it back to Bolia storage facility. Bolia concept is "Scandinavian sleeping and living", shouldn't your company then try to design your products to fit a standard Scandinavian stairway or door opening?
We like the nest sofa very much so we order a crane to lift it up to our apartment on the fourth floor, unfortunately the transportation company didn't look closely at the pictures we sent with the description of the job, and when they came, they refused to do the labor because there was ice and snow on the ground.
So now we hope that the next time we get the sofa delivered to us, for the third time, we will have salted the ground enough and they can lift it up to our apartment.
So far we have payed 1/3 of the total cost of the nest sofa in just extra transportation cost.

I think the copy of exchanged e-mails below is self explained on the reason of my opinion:
I doubt if someone can be happy buying a sofa and them have to wait for a week (opening the windows during Norwgian winter!) to get rid of the unpleasant smelling coming from the fabric. I would expect that Bolia at least send someone to check what have originated it and try to avoid that other customers experience the some problem.
Its real a pity that this buying experience that started so good ends with such frustration. Anyway, thanks for your email replies.

I have asked the product department again and as I have suggested the only way to get rid of the smell, that most likely comes from the packaging, is to give it some time and let some air in.

Hi,
I must say that I’m really disappointed with your suggestion. I have already opened the windows and let air entry for some hours but I can’t let it open for a week ! We´re in Norway during winter time and we´d freeze inside if we do that. Even considering that smelling originally came from package and maybe “contaminated” fabric , its yet something that you should have responsibility on. This really changed the good experience I had with Bolia so far, and for sure, will be taken it consideration when I make my next furniture buying decision.

Regarding the smell it is most likely from the packaging as you suggest, as we do not have experience with fabric smelling. We suggest that you open the windows and let a lot of air into the room and give it a few days, maybe a week.

First of all, I’d like to congratulate Bolia for the great experience I had buying a sofa and a small table. Since the first visit to the shop, to the accomplishment with promised delivery date and arrival of the goods, everything was great. Also the sofa itself and how easy was to have it unpacked and the legs assembled. The only thing that really disappointed me and it’s the reason I’m asking for help and orientation was the unpleasant smell that comes from the sofa fabric , probably due the contact of it with the packaging material . So I kind ask for your help on how to offset this unpleasant smell from the sofa.

No questions about quality of product. Living in a third floor without elevator, the delivery men had to go up with a 112 kg sofa bed without any proper equipment, I.e. some kind of straps. The poor guys where really suffering, cursing at the sofa, stairs and to the fact that the entry door had to be dismounted because otherwise the sofa would have came in the appertment. Poor guys, I really think that some equipment may have helped them. At the end they made the job, including dismounting and outing the door back.

I bought a table and a couch. During the process of research I received detailed information about the products. Receiving a warm cup of coffee when trying out the furniture´s was a nice gesture.
Bolia has always sales on, so wait for your product to come on sale before buying. The products I watched got on sale every 2. month.

I bought an Scandinavia sleeping couch, L shaped. The quality is well below what I expected for the price I paid and what I saw at the physical store. The cushions are wrinkled, they are not aligned and are lifted from the base. I'm disappointed and I will try to return the couch.

The entire process and service was very good, just lacking one thing. Ensemble of the furniture and remove of packing. We bough a big 7 seat sofa, they deliver to the room, friendly and good service, but you should offer the option to ensemble and take away the packing, it is a lot of paper and plastic, and the furniture even though it was easy to ensemble its heavy for one person.
