Boadicea The Victorious Enthrone
Enthrone is a smoky, slightly sweet, floral and rugged aromatic fougere fragrance. The opening starts with a fresh blast of slightly spicy cardamom, a masculine-leaning combination of violet leaf and iris note, and a mix of agarwood oud and sandalwood. Although lavender is not listed, the mentholated feel in the dry-down has a whiff of lavender, cyrpriol and frankincense. There are also touches of neroli, leather and a warm amber.
An elevated aromatic fougere fragrance, Enthrone is what I would call a "purple scent." Orris and violet leaves are evident in the beginning. The leather in the midnotes makes it more elegant and classy in the eventual dry-down, along with the sandalwood and amber.
Like most barber shop-type fragrances, it's very linear and has average projection. But Enthrone counters it by having good performance (eight-plus hours, becoming a skin scent after four hours).
A vibrant, masculine scent that is an easy wear (office, first date or anywhere where you don't want to be too loud) and extremely pleasing to the nose. Perfect to wear all year round, save the coldest parts of winter.
As for Boadicea The Victorious, I got Enthrone from the company at a 10 percent discount. BTV also did not charge shipping or sales tax, despite coming from England. I received the fragrance within one week.
