I applied repeatedly over a number of weeks, but due to having retired and downsized our home I had no evidence of my Army Nursing or Education Provider careers throughout the past 56 years. Thierry from Blue Light never gave up on me and finally I sent copies of my Army Nurse training plus various certificates proving I was qualified as an Educator and spent most of my working career as a freelance teacher of the teachers. An A5 copy of my army nurse training was accepted thankfully, as I very much doubt the Ministry of Defence or my Local Education Department or Leisure Centres would be willing to search for pay evidence from 40-50 years ago. I accepted pay-outs rather than pensions from both of these employers, as I needed the cash at the time - being a stay at home mother in between both these careers.

Some very good discounts, especially for restaurants. My local swimming pool gives me half price swim, which makes it so much more affordable with the blue light card. I have benefited well from having the blue light card.

Awful experience
Awful experience! Bought a gym shark gift card for a present a the app only allowed me to purchase a set amount at a time so first payment was ok second just wouldn’t go through! They then blocked me for trying twice.. it’s been 2 weeks numerous emails to support and all I get back is change your email and try again.. worst experience ever!!! Not even worth the hassle

Had problems renewing membership on the app. The app is buggy and seems to crash a lot on my Samsung phone (and I do have the latest model!). However, contacted BLC help team and had an email exchange with "Tom". He responded very quickly to my emails, resolved every issue with speed and was very understanding with good advice. 5/5 for Tom - Excellent service from him. But will only give 4/5 stars overall because the app needs work.
