Horrible
We went to a Bluegreen presentation for the free gifts but got trapped in a relentless sales pitch that lasted three hours. The extremely pushy sales reps totally exploited us into signing and falsely claimed we could easily rent the timeshare out for extra income.
A huge selling point for us was the RCI partnership. However, within months of owning the timeshare, they invited us to another event and told us Hilton had bought out RCI. Suddenly, we had no more RCI access, and they expected us to buy into Hilton for the exact same cost we had already paid! Because of all the restrictions and changes, we haven't even been able to take a single vacation. We only booked a trip because we were told our points were going to expire, but when we tried to cancel months ahead of time, we were told we'd either face a penalty fee or lose the points entirely. Do not trust Bluegreen
Not Worth It
Me and my wife are so sick of this vacation club and just want our money back. We tried using it a couple of times but it has been a total letdown. Honestly, the whole thing started off terribly with a four-hour sales pitch where they promised us a free trip to Hawaii. Turns out that was a total lie, which is so annoying. On top of that, the point system makes no sense and is completely useless when you actually want to book a decent vacation. We can never get enough points for a real trip. Now we are heading into retirement and the annual fees just keep going up and up. It makes no sense for us to keep throwing money away on something that doesn't even work for our family. We just want out of this and they don’t seem to care much about our situation, only the money we owe.
False Promises and Only after your Money
Bluegreen is incredibly frustrating. If you are ever facing any financial changes or challenges, don’t expect any empathy or real customer support. Their sole priority is collecting payment, with zero flexibility or understanding. When we reached out to explore options like a buy-back, they shut it down immediately with no willingness to negotiate. As owners, we expected to be treated with a basic level of respect, but that hasn't been the case. Be extremely cautious before getting tied into any financial commitment with them.
We have had a highly disappointing…
We have had a highly disappointing experience with Bluegreen Vacations. They will put you through an exhausting sales presentation and tell you whatever it takes to make the sale. The timeshare has been nearly impossible to use for us. We have constantly had trouble booking vacations at their resorts and are often forced to stay in regular hotels instead. Worst of all, if you do stay at their resorts, they’re going to make you attend more sales meetings. Bluegreen is not the solution to your vacation needs.
Seriously disappointed with my Bluegreen ownership experience
We originally bought our Bluegreen timeshare to use for business travel, thinking it would save us money. Instead, it’s been a massive money pit. They misled us about how the points actually work. We were told we could convert our timeshare points into weeks of hotel stays, but the conversion rate is so terrible that it barely covers two or three nights.
To make matters worse, we were tricked into upgrading in 2024. The sales reps promised us that when Hilton took over, the upgrade would give us full access to all HGV properties. That turned out to be false and did nothing to benefit us in anyway. Just another coercion to spend more money.
We have been trying to cancel our membership with Bluegreen for months. We finally received a response from Jennifer Shelton in their transition department, but she denied our request. She told us that because we still have an open loan, our only options are to resell it ourselves or to transfer the title to someone we care about. That’s definitely not going to happen! We don’t want to do their jobs for them and we don’t want the runaround either. We just want out of an ownership that was sold to us based on false premises. Save yourself the stress and stay far away from Bluegreen Vacations.

Six Figures Invested, Zero Support: The Truth About Bluegreenhusband and I have been Bluegreen…
My husband and I have been Bluegreen owners for years and have invested over six figures with this company. The situation has been rocky from the start with sales presentations lasting over five hours at a time, being pushed into upgrading and buying more points without full clarity. During those presentations, representatives explicitly assured us that if we ever wanted or needed to sell our ownership down the road, Bluegreen would step in and assist us.
That turned out to be a complete fabrication. When we reached out asking to exit—especially after going through severe hardship following a house fire that destroyed our home—we were met with total stonewalling. Instead of honoring what we were promised at the sales table, Bluegreen representatives (including Jamarr, Yayonna, and Keshia Glasco) repeatedly told us that the only way we could get released was to transfer pay them an additional $10,000 balance first.
After already taking six figures of our hard-earned money, demanding another $10,000 to be released from an agreement built on false promises is completely unacceptable. We stopped paying our maintenance fees in January because we refuse to keep funding a company that misled us from day one. Anyone considering buying into Bluegreen needs to be extremely cautious—do not believe the falsehoods behind closed doors in those presentation rooms.
If you sign up with Bluegreen
If you sign up with Bluegreen, here is exactly what you can expect:
Expect their sales representatives to put you under a lot of pressure. We were in a meeting with them for 5 hours where they constantly rotated managers and salespeople to wear us down.
Expect the bills to continually go up! The costs are high, yet despite paying all this money, there is a total lack of booking availability.
Expect them to trap you. When you realize the costs vastly outweigh the benefits and try to handle things the right way by canceling, expect your emails and letters to go completely ignored. If you do finally get an answer, don’t expect them to help you out.
We do not recommend this company.
Poor Follow-Through and No Real Help
We sent a complaint in to the BCA after we finally spoke with Bluegreen. We were given options that aren't a way out. On top of that, our health has changed significantly over the years, making travel and using the timeshare unrealistic. Instead of receiving help, we keep getting sent in circles. It's been a frustrating and disappointing experience.
Jamar left us voicemails, we called back and left messages, and sent emails, but never received a response. We have made every effort to connect with him and still have not received any response for over a month. BEWARE of their "charming" sales presentation because the promises they make are not the reality!!!
Horrible experience
The yearly maintenance fees are crazy high, costing over $3,000 right now, and the worst part is they keep going up by like $300 to $400 every single year. It is just too much money for us to handle. We have tried so many times to talk to them and cancel this contract because of how bad it's hurting our budget, but nobody will actually help us out. We tried working with a representative named Keshia, but she never got back to us, and then we found out customer service just completely closed our case without even talking to us first. When we finally did get ahold of other people, the advice they gave us was awful. Nicole said our only choice was to pay off the whole timeshare, which makes no sense since we are trying to get rid of it, not spend more money. Then Kymberly told us we should just stop paying and default on the loan, which would completely wreck our credit score. Our kids do not even want this thing because they see how stressed out it makes us. It feels like they only care about taking our money and do not care about treating people with respect. We just want them to cancel this agreement and give us a refund because this whole situation is unfair. But they don’t care about their customers, they want to string us along because they can.
A False Fantasy: Why I Cannot Recommend Timeshare with Bluegreen and Hilton
We have been dealing with Bluegreen and Hilton, and the experience has been disappointing to say the least. When we originally agreed to this, we were assured that we could easily travel anywhere and that this was a solid financial decision. We quickly found out that was not the case.
Instead of receiving the support and service we were led to expect, it’s been the exact opposite with us being asked to pay $16k to be released. We have clearly communicated our issues and even had to file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau to bring awareness to the monster we are up against, and they continue to drag their feet and refuse to take responsibility for how this was presented to us which will validate us being released from our membership.
We are simply asking for them to do the right thing, acknowledge the discrepancies in what we were told versus what we received, and the nature of their mistreatment once we informed them of our intention to exit. Until they step up and resolve this, I strongly warn others to be very careful before believing the fantasy that they sell you.
Horrible Customer Service
I have owned this timeshare for over 20 years, and today’s customer service experience was incredibly frustrating.
In 2025, I reserved a week for August 2026. I later received BOTH an email and a phone call telling me the exchange could not go through because my 2026 maintenance fees had not been paid. Naturally, I understood that the transaction had been canceled.
Today, I was told I had already used my 2026 week. A supervisor explained that while the “exchange” was canceled, the “reservation” was not. Apparently those are two separate things — something that was never explained to me when they called and emailed to say the exchange had been canceled.
How is a customer supposed to know that?
Instead of acknowledging the obvious communication problem, the supervisor actually asked me, “Did you read your contract?” The contract I signed over 20 years ago.
If your policies are complicated enough that customers can lose an entire week over the difference between an “exchange” and a “reservation,” then clearly communicating that distinction should be YOUR responsibility.
One simple sentence — “Your exchange is canceled, but you must also cancel the reservation or your week will be considered used” — would have prevented this entire situation. Common curtesy.
I did become frustrated and raise my voice, which I regret. However, after more than 20 years of ownership, I expected better than “Did you read your contract?”
Long-term owners deserve clear communication and better customer service than this.
If you’re interested in a Bluegreen…
If you’re interested in a Bluegreen timeshare, think again. Bluegreen remains an ongoing burden and has been a deeply disappointing experience for us. Every single time we attempt to exit, they completely stonewall us, despite the fact that we have been with them for +20 years.
We have faced continuous difficulties trying to book vacations, directly contradicting what was promised to us during multiple sales presentations. Despite repeated assurances that upgrading our package would secure better availability, we have rarely succeeded in reserving high-demand destinations.
The cherry on top is their customer service. Their customer service is basically non-existent. They either offer zero real assistance or fail to answer entirely, with no in-between. Ultimately, you end up trapped paying for something you cannot use, with no one available to help resolve it.
I would strongly advise anyone considering Bluegreen to do a significant amount of research before signing anything.
Bluegreen Vacations is a SCAM company
Bluegreen Vacations is a SCAM company, selling LIES. Here is some information to warn you:
1. Sleazy, tricky, very pushy salespeople: some of the names include Bobbie VanLandingham, Matt Wise, Dale Bratton, Rusty Corey, Randy (forgot last name), and a female manager. Salespeople frequently pressure for upgrades through phone calls and in-person contact during resort stays.
2. Misleading: The sales process included inaccurate claims regarding the ability to rent out points to cover maintenance fees.
3. Deceptive: Information provided about the ease of making reservations and property availability proved to be false.
4. Restrictive: The point system effectively barred access to popular resorts and high-season bookings.
5. Dishonest: Promises made regarding fees, resort locations, and vacation destinations were empty promises.
6. Non-responsive and unprofessional: Ignore and disregard communication from their customers. Emails and phone calls unanswered. Put customers on hold for a long time when calling, making it such a terrible experience that emailing became a much preferred way to communicate.
7. Disappointing: The overall experience failed to align with the expectations set by sales representatives.
Pressure, lies and deception
Buying Bluegreen has been a complete nightmare. The sales people were incredibly pushy and the meeting dragged on for nearly three hours with them constantly throwing new offers at me. They even told me that I should just pay for it using my 401k. I haven't been able to take a single vacation, yet the monthly bills are incredibly expensive, not to mention they charge yearly fees on top of everything else. Do not buy from them!
Avoid Bluegreen Vacations!
Getting involved with Bluegreen has been a complete and total nightmare. The continuous and
varied costs are a massive financial drain, and it's literally the main thing stopping me from
being able to buy a real home. As a 90% disabled veteran, my life and physical abilities have
changed a lot lately. I just can't handle the travel anymore and honestly don't even want to. The
financial commitment is exorbitant and simply not sustainable. On top of that, the constant
scams are exhausting. A call came from a person claiming they are coordinating an RCI stay or
they desire to lease my timeshare with a fraudulent, convincing lease agreement costing me at
least $1,800, purchased through my Barclay Credit Card. Barclay is associated with Bluegreen.
To date, no resolution from either Bluegreen or Barclay Bank to recover this cost. Now, I don't
trust a single call I get that claims to be associated with them. I also don’t trust Bluegreen in
general. I need to get out of the ownership and be able to buy a real house. Bluegreen does not
care about my situation. They don’t care that people’s life circumstances change. They’re
hanging on. Being tied down to and entrapped in this ownership is just constant stress I don't
need. Avoid Bluegreen! My fight with them continues.
Bluegreen Vacations is a scam
Signing up with Bluegreen is not the right choice. We went on a promotional trip to Pigeon Forge and had to attend a sales meeting in return. We were put through a 3 hour sales pitch. They assured us that the cost of maintenance fees would never go up… turns out they go up in price every year. The resorts we have experienced certainly are not worth the price. Bluegreen feels like a scam and we would not recommend this company to others.Signing up with Bluegreen is not the right choice. Lies on lies
I am deeply disappointed with our experience. During the sales presentation, we were heavily pressured into signing a contract under the impression that we would have seamless access to high-quality, nice cabins to enhance our retirement travel. The reality of ownership has been the exact opposite. Instead of the cabins, we could only get rooms except for 1 time. On top of not getting the accommodations we were promised, the financial burden has become unmanageable. The maintenance fees, assessments, and other surprise charges keep rising at a rate we absolutely cannot afford on our fixed retirement budget. We feel completely misled and tricked into spending $20,000 on a vacation points package that offers virtually no value and has caused us nothing but immense financial strain and stress. This product was entirely misrepresented.
This is one of the most abusive…
This is one of the most abusive companies I have ever been subjected to as a potential customer. I was convinced via them getting my information from a hotel stay to buy a vacation/timeclub sales pitch for a trip to Las Vegas for $279 on 1/23/24. Ever since, I have been tortured by this company through their telemarketing partners. Over 100 calls over the last 2 years asking me to talk about the package I purchased and what more to buy and I try to tell each telemarker "please take me off..." and before I can say "caling list" they hang up. for the last year, including 9 CALLS TODAY!! I start with "I am BEGGING you to stop.." and they hang up again! I called HQ and gave the purchase number for the $279 stupid package, and they said "we have no record of any calls". It is their call center torturing us and I said "they are calling me about "BlueGreen vacation I purchased" so how is that not you??? As a result of this, over a year ago, my number is on the FCC do not call list. They do not care because as you start to say that, their telemarketers hang up on you so it never, never ends. WHY ON EARTH AFTER I WAS SORTA INTERESTED WOULD I EVER, EVER, EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!! Just talked to HQ who tried to pretend it wasn't them but when I said "they mention Bluegreen Vacations" every time, you cannot absolve yourself from your abusive contractors!! I pray it ends now
Terrible Experience
Terrible experience right from the start. I got a bunch of phone calls while I was at work. I was unable to use the online profile and they said there was no way to fix it. They called me at 9pm the night before the presentation to change my time, for a second time. The first representative was very nice, but the other one they brought in who I assume was the closer was very rude and basically called us stupid, that we couldn’t do math, and that we are throwing our money away each time we go on vacation. Will never be going with bluegreen again. Love Hilton, hate Bluegreen.
