They are keeping my money hostage!!! They do not allow transfers out to a different account. I needed to transfer money to my daughter's account for an emergency last night. HORRIBLE C/S!!! He threatened to hang up because I threw the f bomb. This is 2026. You should be able to transfer your money ANYWHERE!!! That is MY HARD EARNED MONEY and they're telling me I cant use it the way I want?!?! DO NOT GET THIS CARD!!!! I BEG YOU!!!

Unable to change address to P.O. Box.
We moved and wanted to close out our card. We called after trying to change our address to a P.O. Box which cannot be done on their website. After waiting for some time, an Indian woman, who barely spoke English, got on the line and continued to try to convey that P.O. Box addresses are not acceptable and if we want to cash out, just spend it down. Our card expired 3 years ago so that's not an option. After being put on hold for a lengthy period of time (the line was dead), the woman returned to the phone and told us basically we were out of luck. We were angry with this run around and said to keep the balance left on the card and hung up. She was extremely ill-mannered, barely spoke English and acted as though she couldn't care less about our situation. We will NEVER return to this bank again.

All I can say is please don't get this debit card. It is the worst. Plus they hire people that you cannot understand if you speak English and Im thinking they might do this on purpose so you get frustrated and just say the heck with it! I called them when I noticed an unauthorized transaction on my Bluebird app statement and mind you, the transaction, theft, was just minutes old and I told them not to let it go through because I did not spend $45 with this company and they said they could not do anything about it. They could have stopped it. They do everything else. So they put the $45 back in my account, then a month later they took it out, without telling me. I don't know what kind of business they are running but it's certainly one that I don't want any part of. So I'm out. Do not use this for your banking business, like I said, they are terrible.

It is horrible. The individuals that work their customer service lines can not speak good English. Calls are of poor quality. They can not help because they do not know what to do. This needs to be corrected immediately!!!!!

False charges at Home Depot and Amazon
They charged me for an online order at Home Depot ($96.04) that I canceled 2-3 hours after I made it. Home Depot says the charge was only pending & it dropped off my card when I canceled the order, that they don't actually charge a card until the order ships.
Therefore, they say Blue Bird is holding the funds, not releasing the money back to my card & I have to take it up with BB.
Honestly, I have no way of really knowing if this is a Home Depot error or Blue Bird error, I was inclined to blame HD but then, about a month later, two more strange/fake charges showed up on my blue bird account as coming from Amazon, they were both for the same day & same amount: 26.42. Whereas I did place 2 orders on Amazon that day, neither one was for 26.42, not even close (& my legitimate orders went thru just fine).
I do not have any orders on my Amazon account for that amount in 2025.
I could understand ONE error on my card, but THREE errors/fraudulent charges made within a month of each other is ridiculous. That's just sloppy on Blue Bird's end, sloppy or they're deliberately siphoning funds from my card.
Whatever the case I'm done with Blue Bird. You call & call and if you're lucky enough NOT to be disconnected they send you around in circles, put you on hold eternally and ultimately really don't do anything for you. You can waste hours & hours on the phone trying to dispute a charge with them.
Not to mention, loading my card now costs me 3.74 per transaction, that's ridiculous too. I don't get 3.74 worth of customer service from them, I don't get 1 cent worth of help from them in trying to resolve these disputed charges so I'm done with them, for good and forever. When the last little bit of funds on my card are used I'm canceling the card.

When you give a debit card company all your information and they deny you a debit card this means they are selling your information. No one gets turned down for debit cards because there is no risk involved for the bank but in our modern times they are making up for their losses by selling people's personal information. If they didn't want people calling them out of their theft and sale of people's private personal information maybe they should stop doing it.

Tried to dispute 2 fraudulent transactions, and was put on hold and then disconnected 4 times in a row, each time requiring me to go through verification. Asked to speak to a manager, and got hung up on again. No luck after 2 hours.
I want to close my account
I want to close my account. It has a balance of $9.55. I was told o must spend it to $0 before they can close the account. Any real back would close the account and send you a check but they said no. I asked for a supervisor and she said oh it doesn’t matter they will say the same thing. I’m like it’s $9 I really don’t even care.. this is why I don’t want this. She had me on hold for 30 min to say oh they are busy so call back.. like what?? After the hour it took to get to a rep and the 10 min of “system issues” while trying to verify my account.. I had to hang up before I stepped out of my character.. WORST BUSINESS POSSIBLE!!!

Unable to reach a representative. The website is appalling and the customer representative numbers send you into menu hell. Finally found a way to get to a representative over the phone after ½ hour of research. The tech support is Indian. Awful. Perhaps ranks with the worst customer support I've ever experienced. Even the IRS has better support.

This card is a scam
After loading $500 into a card that I wanted to give my 93-yr-old father who is no longer able to manage a debit card attached to a bank account, my account was locked. I was told by customer service the only resolution is to send a letter to a post office box. I've sent two in the last six weeks with no response. I am no longer able to reach customer service because I am disconnected and sent an automated email. My next action will be to seek legal action.
Horrible experience
Horrible experience! Got the card in case I needed another account for emergcies, BIG mistake! Customer service is horrendous, they will speak to you in intelligible English and lie to you. The straw that broke the camel’s back was I got a call from my regular bank saying Bluebid wants their money back from a transfer that I initiated. That’s MY money, so I called Bluebird and was fed a bunch of lies and then repeatedly telling me they wouldn’t do that and I should’ve received an email. I told them it’s my money I rightfully worked for and is legally mine. They kept repeating “it’s not like that” over and over. Finally fed up I told them to cancel my account, that I was done with them and am reporting them to the FDIC and FBI, this is totally illegal. Moral of the story: STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!

I would rate this zero stars. DO NOT GET THIS CARD. Worst customer service. I got a new phone number and email and have no access to both. I can't get on app, so called customer service to change both. Gave them my name, security questions, my social security # and address. Was told they can't change it because I don't have a number under my social # to verify. I'm on a family plan that's not under my name,they told me I had to go change the phone account in my name. Like what more info do you possibly need to be verified? WHY ALL THIS HASSEL FOR A PREPAID CARD. Not even regular credit card companies require all this. I'm sure the customer rep Mihir transfered me to a "supervisor" named Kud. It sure sounded like it was the same room. BEWARE.
I had fraud on my Bluebird account and…
I had fraud on my Bluebird account and $700 was stolen out of my account. On my debit card. I absolutely did not give out any information or use the card online. And Bluebird failed to refund to credit my account for my money lost. They denied my dispute and I’m very unhappy with this. And I’m not gonna use them anymore for my direct deposit. Bluebird should’ve refunded all my money back to my account.
