Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the payment process, encountering issues with pre-authorizations and being overcharged. Customers also frequently report problems with the charging stations themselves, noting that they often don't work or charge at significantly slower speeds than advertised. The app is a major source of frustration, with many finding it slow, buggy, and difficult to use, especially in areas with poor signal. Additionally, consumers consistently experienced poor customer service, describing it as unhelpful and difficult to reach. The pricing was also a common complaint, with many finding the cost disproportionately high compared to other options.

Stole my money!

The chargers took a £50 pre-auth charge per session, and haven't refunded it. The pre-auth charges show as pending in my bank, which these did, but now they show as processed so they've taken the money. When I contacted them, just tried to explain it as a pre-auth charges and won't look into it. The receipts from their systems even show it shouldn't be that much. I can't even log in to the app at the moment because they say my email address is invalid, despite them using it to contact me. So rather than £30 pre-auth charge, I'm having to pay £50.

OVERALL BAD SERVICE AT CHARGING STATION AND ON PHONE

I had a loaner electric vehicle and went to the Blink charging station. Set up my account via app and loaded $20. The charger did not work.
Today I called to cancel my account but impossible to speak to a rep. The automated service does not work well. I pressed "1" since I am a customer and still it gave me an error message for no reason.
I just cancelled my account via the app and now have to wait up till 10 days for the $20 refund.
Will see if they refund my money.

Difficulty with app and customer service

Blink Customer Service anmd thier app is lacking and both are subpar. Trying to contact them or resolve. Any issues is very difficult. Have had nothing but problems trying to utilize a blink charger. And the app fails in many aspects. Customer service is very difficult to contact with little to no help,if you do. My recommendation is not to rely on their chargers if you need to charge your car.

Worst EV Service Ever

Have never used Blink - but it was what was available at the Hyatt we stayed in. System would not accept my “contactless” credit card nor have a means to use a regular credit or debit card. Called for assistance and after a long wait was told I had to download the Blink app and create an account. The app is very frustrating with near-hidden means to access your account for a credit sale. Support staff were non-US based and unhelpful. I hope I never have to use Blink again.

Customer service laughed at me!

Returning to my car, the charger would not detach from rother car or Blink charger.
I called the customer care number. He suggested a number of things to get this disconnected but all failed. Also issue at Blink end so it could not be disconnected their end. He said he would send engineer out, of which I asked for call on eta. This was Wednesday teatime. I received no call...I eventually got disconnected, tried calling Blink but numbers busy. The following Monday...5 days later!! I revieved a call asking if I'd managed to disconnect!!!
After explaining how dissatisfied I was, & how i felt being stranded, the guy laughed!!! So I asked for a part refund...he laughed again!! Avoid these as service and customer service appalling...not worth 1 star

They harvest your data, and operate illegally within the EEA

I thought I'd sign up given that at my parent's terraced house, electricity is 28p/kWh and it's only 45p/kWh here which isn't too far away. They'd both be just as slow though. There is no guarantee of parking at a terraced house after all

Now, the sign up process itself was a data harvest from blink charging. I use an app called Blokada which blocks tracking links. In order to verify my account, I had to disable this given the link would refuse to work

Then, they subscribed me to their mailing list which is highly illegal in the EEA given GDPR. On top of that, the unsubscribe link in the email is yet another tracking link and to add insult to injury, the tracking link doesn't actually take you to a portal where you unsubscribe but rather their YouTube account

I haven't even used Blink chargers yet, but they've already lost me me as a customer given they're :

- Operating illegally by sending me marketing that I did not agree to
- Use tracking links
- Don't even have a valid portal to unsubscribe

One shouldn't have to email their support to get them to remove me from their marketing nonsense. If it was easy for me to unsubscribe, with no tracking links, I might have actually overlooked the fact that they're operating illegally in the EEA with regards to sending me marketing emails that I didn't subscribe to

1% of the time it works..

1% of the time it works... every time. What a truly awful product. How has Blink been chosen as the company of choice for streetside charging? The app doesn't work, the chargers rarely work, customer service is appalling. A total failure of a company.

Lost £80 - Beware Blink Charging

Charged £30, but charger wouldn't work. Swapped to a second charger - it said I was not connected, but the vehicle charge light showed that it was charging. I pulled the plug after a couple of minutes, because I was experimenting with charging for the first time with my new EV - but I was charged £50

Avoid Blink chargers …

I’ve used many charge points across the U.K. and find the Blink chargers and the app to be the worse I’ve come across , app not giving accurate info , or simply not working , for the life of me I cant understand how BHCC gave out such an important contract with out testing and asking for feedback back from consumers
Along the road in Worthing they use kerbside which works every time no fuss and the app is stable and links straight across to the Audi app show charge status ect , it even has a smart feature which allows yih to charge over night when the cost per KW is at its lowest

How this company is allowed to operate is beyond me.

WOW, just WOW! Couldn't get a charging station to work. Despite this they charged me £30 8 times, yes EIGHT times. And another 21 attempts to pre-authorise. Which meant my card was blocked. I tried another card and was charged £30 another 3 times with another 30, yes THIRTY attempts to pre-authorise. This sent me over my bank limit meaning I have no disposable money at this time. I contacted customer services, spoke to a guy who said he could help, but was then cut off. Emailed and still awaiting a response. How this company is allowed to operate is beyond me.

Scam - takes your money but doesn't charge your car

Took 2 lots of £50 at the Barnsley market gate carpark, rang customer service as the app wouldnt show the charger to authorise it, to be told it isn't showing as I'm connected. Tried a different charger in the same car park, 2 lots of £30 taken and I gained 20 miles in 3 hours charging. Absolute con. Contacted customer service and no response

AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Everything About Blink Is Painfully Slow… Except Taking Your Money!

Chargers are VERY slowwwww, the app is clunky, and it takes ages to set up. Not easy to determine which charger is which on the app.

I used a Blink charger for the first time and it will definitely be the last. After battling through their marathon of an app setup just to access a sluggish charger, I charged for 1 hour and 12 minutes and should have been billed £2.42 (according to their invoice on my app)

Instead, Blink took £27.58 from my account .... which works out to the diesel equivalent of about £15 per litre for roughly 20 miles of range!!

I’ve had to report the transaction to my bank as unauthorised and request a chargeback. I’ve not yet experienced their customer service, but given everything else, and the many terrible reviews, I'm bracing myself!

Slow chargers, slow app, but VERY fast at overcharging you.

Avoid Blink at all costs.

Avoid Qpark mailbox Birmingham chargers

Charged up at Qpark mailbox Birmingham on the 16th of Nov, 1 and a half hours for approx 10kw of power, charged £50 as standard, contacted 4 days later as to where the remainder had gone and why it hadn’t been reimbursed, still heard nothing as of the 25th.

BLINK CHARGING SUPPORT IS TERRIBLE

The support for Blink charging might be the absolute worst in the entire world. It is not existent garbage. I host 4 charging stations and it takes MONTHS to get anything resolved. I hate that I invested in these units.

Waiting for 5 days now for customer service to send me a receipt for my charging session, still not received and wasted countless time on the phone and emails to get this resolved, also the chargers do not charge at the speed advertised will definitely not be using this again and I have also removed the account from my company.

Very, very unhappy

Issues with the Brighton Blink chargers include:

(A) no ability to use without an internet connection. This rules out the many Blink chargers in Brighton - a hilly city with poor coverage. I have given up on the chargers in my neighbourhood.

(B) most charge at 3KW. This compares to 7kW for a home charger unit working on a standard mains connection. The 3kW is what you get when you plug the car directly into a plug socket.

(C) the flat 55p per kWh compares to ~8p per kWh (night) and ~22p per kWh (daytime) for a home charger depending on your provider.

I would expect a discount at these speeds.

It must be profitable to essentially stick an app to a mains electricity connection and reap nighttime profit levels of maybe 700%. Given the speed of charging, you need to be plugged in for 2 days.

How did Brighton council let them get away with this?
