Excellent gentleman to 'chat' with- knowledgeable and helpful . However as B4s 'product out of stock' and so would have to order from Germany with 2-3 week lead time. As time slot booked for following week - regret went with a good offer on KYBs.

Say things are in stock when they are not

I placed an order 2 days ago for a full set of shock absorbers. All were shown as in stock. I received an email today saying the rears are ready but the fronts are currently on backorder with an estimated lead time of 1 week (could be more, could be less). If I go on the site now it still says they are in stock when they clearly are not in stock. I asked them to split the order and send me the rears first, but they wanted an extra £14.4 postage (more even than the £12 I was paying anyway). Since I was going to have wait an indeterminate time for my parts, I cancelled the order and bought them from autodoc, who were also 20% cheaper.

As a dedicated supplier of performance suspension components, we work through a distributed supply network rather than holding all items in a single physical warehouse. This allows us to offer a much wider range of products than traditional stock-holding retailers, but it also means availability is dependent on real-time supplier data.

While our website reflects the latest information available to us, stock status can occasionally change between the time an order is placed and when supplier confirmation is received — particularly for fast-moving or specialist parts. This is an industry-wide challenge when operating across multiple fulfilment points, rather than a single stocked location.

With regard to your order, the rear items were available for immediate dispatch, while the front units became subject to a supplier backorder shortly after purchase. As standard, we consolidate shipments to avoid customers incurring multiple delivery charges. When a split shipment is requested, additional courier costs do apply, as items are dispatched separately from different locations within the network. These are real shipping costs rather than added margins.

We do take your point regarding how stock availability is displayed and are continuing to improve how this is communicated to better reflect situations where supplier confirmation is still pending.

Our aim is always to provide access to genuine parts at competitive pricing, alongside clear communication when circumstances change. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us refine both our systems and customer experience.

I unfortunately had a frustrating experience ordering from Bilstein-Shocks.co.uk and wanted to share this so future customers are aware.

I placed an order for Bilstein front springs which were shown as available on the website, paid in full, and received an order confirmation. Shortly afterwards I was informed via email the items were not in stock. Initially I was told they had checked with their warehouse, but later it became clear that the company does not actually hold stock themselves and instead sources parts from third-party suppliers, they are a DropShipper, not a product holder. They were disingenuous at first claiming they checked with their own warehouse staff and the product was not in stock, until later communication proved that they do not hold stock themselves and order and ship from third party suppliers. I very much doubt they have a warehouse.

Because their supplier could not fulfil the order at the advertised price, I was then asked to proceed at a higher cost after purchase. £35 + VAT. While I appreciate that Mike from their team tried to assist and remained polite and professional throughout communication, the overall situation was frustrating — particularly as the website did not indicate the items were out of stock, and I do not feel customers should be asked to pay more after completing a purchase. Under UK consumer law, the responsibility for sourcing stock after purchase sits with the retailer rather than the customer, so I would not expect any additional costs to be passed on in order to fulfil the confirmed order.

In the end I chose to cancel and purchase the same part elsewhere at a lower price without issue. AutoDoc has the part I required at £35 each, with a shipping fee of £8, totalling around £80. The original cost via Bilstein-shocks was around £90 (incl £12 shipping fee) they then asked for a further £35+ VAT. It was a no-brainer. It also seems that Bilstein-Shocks.co.uk source parts from Thyssenkrupp Bilstein, so you would most likely wait a week or two for the item to be delivered, same as AutoDoc if you are not in a rush and can wait for parts.

My advice to others: confirm stock availability before ordering, check other suppliers, as pricing and availability may change after payment. I can see that I am not the only customer that has encountered this issue with this dropshipper.

Hopefully this feedback helps improve transparency for future buyers.

Was talked into the 6112 front coil-overs and 5100 rear in my 2007 Sequoia 4X4.

THATS ALL THE PROS..

CONS
For a Sequoia these shocks SUCK and are NO difference than the after market monroe's that were on it.
- Horrible ride
- oscillates up and down just going down the street!
- horrible dampening
- just going over parking lot speed cushion 3-5 mph the front hard bottoms out ( shock travel dirt shadow shows some 3+ inches of travel and have never been off-road or carried anyone but me and wife with NO added weight inside.
- Comes with INADEQUATE 600 LB coil spring.
- Needs to be min 650 lb or 700 lb front coil spring but the NO CUSTOMER SERVICE rep in SoCal is condensending and talks over you and doesn't want to hear it needs stronger coil.
These things are not cheap and with labor your looking at appx $2500 for 6112 and 5100 installed.
The setup that was on it before rolling into the truck shop were JUST AS THE SAME AS THESE..

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON 6112 FOR 1ST GEN SEQUOIA

I WOULD HAVE PUT KING ADJUSTABES ON BUT THEY NOT MADE FOR 1ST GEN SEQUOIA

BILSTEIN SUCKS... NEVER AGAIN

B8 sprint shocks order.

B8 sprint shocks order.
I purchased B8 sprint shocks for my Alfa Romeo Giulietta, the rear shocks were out of stock and were placed on back order from the head office in Germany.
Once they received it after 5 weeks, order was dispatched in a timely manner.

Van Style (who I bought thye kit from) and Bilstein have said I only have a 2 year guarantee and wont cover me for a replacement so am extremely disappointed. I thought Bilstein were supposed to be one of the best but obviously in my case - not!
