I found that their terms and conditions were clearly explained up front, so I knew they would be due their percentage of the total savings up front. I was looking long-term anyway, so it's still a win-win for both of us. If you don't read their terms or ask questions if you don't understand them, it's your own fault.
I submitted our Spectrum bill as a test case and couldn't be happier. They reduced my monthly bill by a little over 12.5% while also negotiating for faster Internet speeds. Could I have called Spectrum and gotten the same deal, allowing me to keep all the savings, possibly, but I'd have to go into it blind, not aware of all the Spectrum deals, and spend probably a frustrating hour or more on the phone, hating the whole experience.
I value my time, so it's worth it to me. Plus, they will automatically renegotiate for the lowest available cost come next year.

I have been using Billshark for a few years now to lower my Spectrum bill which is always increasing. This time I worked with customer service rep Van and again, he was able to save me a considerable amount of money on this bill. Van is very professional, knowledgeable, worked quickly and explained and asked questions as needed. It's always been a positive experience negotiating my bill with Billshark.
This is the biggest scam and I want to inform anyone looking to lower their bills should never ever contact them. They have a way to make payment on your behalf and your account will show paid-off and they will collect the 50% of that bill amount in cash deposit thru banks. Within few days that payment will be returned and your account will be back to where it was with late fees added to it as well as it might go past due. These people are the biggest crooks. Stay away from them !!!

I used Billshark through the PocketGuard budgeting app. I read up front that they take a 40% cut of your savings. What I failed to look into was how exactly they bill this. It's shocking to receive a bill in the HUNDREDS when you're trying to SAVE money. They ended up saving me money without canceling any services, although they were trying to do that at first and I told them I did not want any services taken off of our bills, I just wanted the reduction. And to their credit, they were able to do that. But the reduction periods can be for years, and they will bill you for 40% of the savings over those years! Fore example, they were able to save me $300 over the course of 2 years off my phone bill. So you get charged for 40% of YEARS worth of savings. They say just enough up front so that they can't be accused of the bait and switch, but they conveniently leave out details about how EXACTLY you will be charged. I also received a message saying they will re-negotiate for me automatically once the savings period is over. No thanks!!!!!! I had to email them asking them to not automatically renew this service. I feel trapped now and taken advantage of. I don't recommend using them.

Its a great service but they take waaay too much money. They negotiated me $600 in savings that I will accumulate at $50/month and took $240 of it immediately.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
First, I originally left positive feedback for this scam company. Now, not so much. I was told that they lowered my Xfinity/Comcast bill by $48.00/mo. for 1 year. After a couple of months, my bill is still the same. I contacted them and was asked to send in my bills for Feb., March and April. I sent the top page with the amount. That was not good enough. I had to email the entire bill. Why? I don't know. The total savings was $576.00. They then take 40%= $230.40. I have to hope I get refunded. However, I used paypal and I have it in writing that they will refund my payment.

They “Negotiated” my AT&T cellular bill. All that was done was removal of an add on. Hardly worth paying $98 for. Absolute scam. Please avoid this company for they will only do what you can do for free on your own. Even after I told them to leave everything alone I still get charged because there is “savings” even though I’m not accepting their changes.
Total scam. Billshark invoices based on a percentage of the “savings” they negotiate on your behalf. In my case, Billshark is claiming that they saved me a ludicrous amount, and they are unwilling or unable to give me a list of where their calculated savings are coming from. My negotiated bill is within $10 of my previous bill, but they are claiming they saved me $600. I’m being invoiced for several times more than the change to my bill, and Billshark cant back up where their numbers are coming from. As far as I can tell theyre totally made up.
EDIT: Their reply below is also totally false. Yes their pricing structure is clear and they did send me a breakdown of their numbers, but their numbers are 100% demonstrably incorrect— theyre looking at the incorrect values. They can just say they saved you $5000 and theres nothing you can do about it even if its not reflected in any statements or future billing projections. Their customer service also just stops responding, and they refuse to escalate internally. Their “escalations” are just transferring you to another front line service rep. Stay far away.

Do not use. They'll sit and sit on your claim until you forget about it and then completely ignore what was asked and Make-up absurd savings so they can charge you whatever they want.
Update to their response:
In regard to their response below, they didn't respond... it's been a while now, but I believe well over a month or even several months before they took any action. I figured nothing was happening with their service and then they proceeded without consulting me further and did something I did not ask for at all. They basically did the opposite of what I wanted done and then tried to charge me nearly 500$ for it.
I responded many, many times to them, called them on the phone a number of times, etc. as well as fought with my bank and neither would reverse the charges. Bank has some contract with them direct, so be careful.

For several years these sleezy people pretend to be customers or potential customers for our business.
They send requests for customers that do not exist. I have emails (spoke on phone as well) H. H....S (no longer with you guys) over there, who promised the harassment and sleezy behavior would stop.
As a point of order - we never discuss customers' accounts with strangers and have never actually had a bill shark discuss an actual customer.
I see from the real reviews for Bill Shark - you guys rip off your customers.
Really sleazy. I will reach out to management again.

They saved me a one time $5 on one phone bill and charged me $2 for it after forcing me to change my pin even though it was working for me just fine.
Not worth my time or money at all.

I used them to lower my bill 2 years ago. They renegotiated again 2 years later without contacting me and are trying to bill me.
I'm currently unemployed.
There's no way I'm paying for something I did not ask for and was not contacted beforehand.

Total effing scam. I saw them with Consumer Reports as a "member service" to "negotiate" a lower internet bill with Mediacom. All they did was sign me up for more services that included an "introductory rate"- set to dramatically increase after a year - and more equipment to rent. They didn't "negotiate" anything!

Reply from Billshark
Well, just keep in mind that if you negotiate the same bill as you request BillShark to do and get the better of the two negotiations, you're still obliged to pay. I do not agree with this, don't see how it's even the slightest bit fair, but this is how they do it. My suggestion is to ask the BBB for help if ever you need to, with BillShark. It's expensive and they don't care who got the best negotiation, you're going to have to pay them.

They reduced the bill by canceling services, something anyone can do. Then take 40% for two years. the point of hiring them is negotiating a lower bill while maintaining current level of service. Any idiot can save me money by canceling things.

Stay away from bill shark and Albert banking app. They make it easy to get an advance and make it seem like they can save you money. They make it hard to cancel. They prey on desperate people trying to feed there families. Them come to find out you owe then for the whole year of savings that you could have got yourself. Do not use these apps. Just call yourself and you will save a lot more.

Read the terms of service... A very bad company to do business with. I fully expect to have a postcard in the mail for a class action lawsuit in a year or two.
Went to cancel their service, but no one answered the phone, then it's too late when my call was returned... Now I'm left paying an invoice to them and still canceling cable.

Why oh why didn't I read the reviews here before dealing with this untrustworthy company? They got me through Mint -- another service I have since cancelled. I mistakenly believed Mint would put some effort into vetting the companies they recommend to customers, but there is absolutely no way anyone at Mint has ever even looked into this place.
So Mint says hey you can save some money, you want to have some of your bills negotiated lower? sure man, look at Comcast. Okay, please provide your account number and login info. Me: okay here is account number, I do not have login info available. Mint app: We're sorry, this bill cannot be negotiated without login info. Me: ok fine, I should probably call them myself anyway. Forgets company exists.
Next, a text from a billshark person, hey whats'up, I'm negotiating your bill, you want a contract? uuh, no, and what deal you mean, please explain. Next: Comcast thanks you, here's your new rate.
Call Mint: sorry you have to call billshark, they are a third party and we cannot communicate with them on your behalf (lies, since they are happy to pass them your credit card info).
Billshark: you agreed to this, shoulda read the fine print, have a nice day.
Comcast: We dunno, we got a text from this random number asking for the discount and I'm not sure how but someone applied it to your account. Uhm, ok, I have 2-factor authentication turned on, so how is that even possible? Comcast: No idea, but can I get your info so I can get you verified? (Go figure, I have to jump through hoops but these guys just take a text from anyone? Remind me to text them to sign my annoying neighbor up for all the expensive services).
Billshark: guess what I spoke to my manager and I will give you a few extra days to cough up the full amount of $600 that I say I saved you but no, I will not provide you with any proof. We really do hope to make all of our customers happy.
Never again.

Reply from Billshark
They are NOT honest with you. They charged a card I have NO CLUE how they got access too. Their customer service refuses refunds of any sort. They sent me an invoice to pay, only to charge a random card I never use a day later for the full amount. Beyond frustrating.
