Billa is i.m.o. the worst supermarkets in Bulgaria. I tried already to avoid this shop but i needed some items lately. At home i saw that on 6 items they did not give me the lower price i should get with my billacard. So i paid 30 leva or 15% more then i should have. They absolute scam you with discount products. Also they show prices big in euro's instead of lev so thats confusing. They put high priced items behind sales signs to lure you in to pick those. For example " deutsche markenbutter" was in sale for 4leva.x but they placed an expensive one behind the sales sign of 8.99 lev. I promised from now on to never again go. shopping there.

Very poor variety of items. Rude cashiers and security.

The store I use in Varna is always well stocked, clean and nicely presented.

However, I have two complaints...

1. It is often to warm and stuffy in the store which causes me to feel faint.

2. Billa's policy at the checkouts is ridiculous, as staff have obviously been given a minimum amount to scan through the till within 60 seconds... This causes all your purchases to end up in a pile, often damaging items and makes it exceedingly difficult to pack into bags. No, I will not try to pack as fast as possible, to satisfy your turnover margins. I take my time and pack methodically and neatly, much to the annoyance of the cashier who has been instructed to speedily serve the next customer. Tough, the next customer can wait. Have some respect for customers packing their bags!
