I used the services

I used the services, were satisfied with the excursions, but the price is a little too high, to order on the site is more expensive than to negotiate on the spot

They wouldn't accept our prepaid tickets

We booked in advance and they wouldn't let us board their bus with our prepaid tickets. They claimed some glitch happened on their website and I would have to buy new tickets with cash to take the tour (and request a refund of the advanced booking when I get home). Of course they didn't offer the same price we paid online and requested a rate that was 30% higher than the online price.

After all that was a good thing: Frustrated I researched my options again and found out there is a much cheaper tour bus in Shanghai, run by Spring Tours. We paid just 50 RMB p.p. for 48 hours, roughly one fifth of the Big Bus price.

scam and had to pay to get another ticket!

I booked for the 2-day big bus tour Shanghai for 2 since a month ago. Today when I finally went to one of the stops to get on the bus, the officer told me and my husband that we were not allowed to go on it because the Big Bus company and the Big Bus Shanghai company do not get along and our tickets bought online cannot be used anymore. What a stupid thing this was! We ended up buying new tickets so that we could go as planned. I demand for a full refund for our tickets (USD38.40 each) or I will definitely make complaints on social media, tripadvisor and consumer complaint authority.

The company did not honour our online tickets.

We arrived in Shanghai, excited tourists from South Africa. We went to both Nanjing road and the Bund Big Bus tour locations and both groups said they could not honour our online tickets because of internal problems. Even though we had paid online for a 48 hour pass we could not do the tour. We lost the whole morning trying to sort out the problem as the offices were closed and we had to wait till after Chinese New Year for a full refund. In the end we had to pay cash to do the 24 hour tour, I really enjoyed it even through on one of the buses there were no seats available and on another the head phone jacks did not work.

No control

The bus was overcrowded and raced through all the stops to wait at terminus.

Too much to wait!

Quite good experience, but there was too much time to wait for a bus. It is unaccettable to wait 45/60 minutes every time for a bus!

Good views, lots of waiting

I enjoyed my time on the Big Bus. For my short visit to the city, I felt like I got a good taste for the various flavors of the city: the Bund, the financial sector including a scenic view from Jin Mao tower, Yu Garden, People's Square, East Nanjing street and a night time river cruise. 2 complaints: I had to wait 30 min or more for most all buses and the driver did not announce the Jade Buddha Temple so after a 45 min ride, I missed the one thing I wanted to see on the green route. This meant I rode the whole loop for an hour and a half and never left the bus.
I would recommend the Big Bus tours but be prepared to wait.

The routes close too early

There is not enough time, in two days, for visiting the main places of the city. And in one stop we were for one hour waiting the bus.......

Good experience but bad people service

The tour was nice but the stops was very quick and was not totally clear.
The bus didn´t stop in one of the attarctions (Jade Budha temple) and when I called with the attendant she didn´t do anything and let me talked to myself.
In summary the tour goes through the main places of Shanghai but the attendants and the drivers should be much better.

Going down hill

This was the 3rd time that I have done the Shanghai Big Bus tour. When I did it 3 years ago it was much higher quality. This time (Nov 2015) the bus attendants (at the stops) were not helpful, drivers were sleeping instead of going, the audio wasn't played at the right times, and we were not given maps and headphones without asking. I am not sure that there is another option but go in with low expectations!

Convenient!

Made all the way to the sightseeing spots. But there are few drivers lack of manners.

No need for 3 bus lines

Although there is a need for multiple bus lines in cities like Hong Kong, due to the limited attractions in Shanghai it would be much better to have a single line (2 at the most). The lines repeated each other a lot in their content.

good value

We took 2 of the three possible tour circuits and the river cruise, and even without using all the things we could possibly have done with the ticket, it was well organised and good value.

Very Informative, Good tour

Highly recommended for getting a first time feel of the city of Shanghai. Very informative with the past, present and future of Shanghai's beauty. Sometimes the traffic can get in the way of the Big Bus arriving on time on the stations. But the tour is generally good.
