Found a book I wanted and ordered it…

Found a book I wanted and ordered it before I read any reviews! I usually buy from ABE or Awesome Books ... however, I had absolutely no problem with Biblio. Book arrived today and is in pristine condition so I'm extremely happy 😊

Shocking customer service

International postage described at around £4, I cant remember exactly now. Placed and paid for the book, £22. Few days later was emailed saying cancel the order and get NO refund or pay extra £19 for postage insurance. Obviously paid. Was tolled dispatched like 3 days later, got no tracking number. Emailed over a week later (although still 3 days remaining for estimated delivery) got no reply, but 24 hours later got a full refund (of both payments at least) with an automated message saying the book has been damaged or lost.

I shouldnt have had to email for this to be checked, tracking information should be given as standard. To be forced to pay the delivery insurance and not get a refund then was also poor.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Like many others on here my money was taken and after waiting patiently to receive it never came. Customer service replied-
book not available full refund given. That was 3 weeks ago and after several emails I still haven’t received my refund. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Ordered a book and paid, but no refund in sight

Ordered a book and paid. I was told that my order was being processed. But then a few days later was told my order had been cancelled and that I would get a refund. A week later, still no refund. So I wrote to Customer Support. I was told to "contact the marketplace" (with no contact details) regarding my refund. What does that even mean?! So I wrote back and asked then to sort it. I received another reply now saying that I needed to contact Biblio about the refund. But I thought I was emailing with Biblio Customer Support, who had informed me about the refund in the first place!! This is frustrating and confusing. I'm also starting to think they are sending me in circles, that I will never get my refund, and is starting to feel like a scam. I will never use Biblio again.

First class. Ignore the haters!

Saw poor reviews but had a go anyway - they are a gatekeeper for lots of independent booksellers. They were sooo good. Bought 4 books from 3 sellers - the longest took 4 days The books were all excellent condition. Postage was reasonable and combined from the same seller. Can’t fault them. Ignore the haters - this was a first class experience.

Very disappointed

Very disappointed. Was assured of prexmas delivery - ordered 10 days ago. No tracking possible. Unless there is a miracle now someone will not be getting their present. Shameful “customer service “.

I am very disappointed

I am very disappointed with this experience. I placed my order over 10 days ago and have still not received the book, which was intended as a gift. There is no tracking information available, and despite emailing for an update, I have not received any response. I would appreciate an urgent update on the status of my order in a response to my email but its not happened yet.

Accept payment for something that is not for sale.

Why advertise something for sale, then accept my order and take my money off me, then cancel my order but not give me an IMMEDIATE refund. OK, systems sometimes (but nowadays very very rarely with digital systems) fail. What shouldn't fail is an IMMEDIATE refund of MY MONEY. If you are quick to cancel an order, you should be quicker to refund my money.

Ordered cancelled by Biblio but customer not informed.

Ordered a book and paid extra for fast delivery, (1 to 3 days). Apparently the book had been already sold to another customer and my order was cancelled but nobody contacted me to tell me this. Instead I was left thinking that it was still on the way a week later or wrongly delivered and ended up knocking on neighbours' doors and chasing the postman. When I emailed them I did receive an email explaining the situation but also full of platitudes along the lines of " we always strive to provide the best customer service, etc".

Perfect. Really good experience.

I was very unsure about buying from Biblio, as I had never heard of them. But I found a book I had been looking for.
I decided to Trust.
I'm glad I did.

Avoid

I paid for expedited delivery and it's still not here over a week later and my emails haven't been responded to. Avoid.

I ordered a book which arrived on time…

I ordered a book which arrived on time and was well packaged. The book came from Alexander's books in Leamington. I was very pleased for a number of reasons: the supplier was British, the package arrived in original condition, not opened and resealed and the packaging itself was all reused from previous packaging. Well done

BIBLIO ARE LIARS

I joined Biblio about two weeks ago having used ABE , Alibris, Amazon and others for the past twenty years. I placed my first order which went through without a hitch. On 14 January I decided to order something else. When I got to the final stage I clicked on 'Complete Shopping' but my order wouldn't go through. A message appeared saying that my credit card number was incomplete; this is the same number that I had used to buy something just five days before. The postage for the item it wouldn't let me buy was set by the seller at £15. Four hours later I tried again only this time the postage had magically increased to £35. Obviously I wasn't going to buy that so I made the mistake of telephoning Biblio. The "assistant" told me that I had been unable to complete my purchase earlier because the seller must have been amending their inventory. LIE.

What that "assistant" knew perfectly well was that when I clicked to buy the book for £15 postage the Biblio computer was pre-programmed to block the transaction. The spiv seller then had time to jack up the postal charge by over 100%. The message on the screen that my card number was "incomplete" was a BLATANT LIE. Biblio and their spiv sellers operate in cahoots against buyers, lying to them in the process.

Obviously I want nothing further to do with this site so I tried to close my account sending them a message that I wanted to CLOSE it. This elicited a puerile message that my account had been made inactive. NOT WHAT I WANTED AND NOT ACCEPTABLE.

This review would be 0 if I were allowed to give it that. DON'T TRUST BIBLIO...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
