Disappointing Experience

Incredibly disappointed with the customer service at Beyond Nine, especially given the high price point. I recently bought the Ottie Denim Jumpsuit as a gift for my sister however the jumpsuit came damaged - the shoulder strap on one side was twisted and due to the stitching on the jumpsuit, it cannot be untwisted. I didn’t notice this when I first received it as it is only obvious when worn so I only realised this after giving it as a Christmas present to my sister. My sister was very disappointed as she was very excited to receive the jumpsuit and obviously this is not what you expect when you spend £140. I reached out to customer service over three weeks ago to explain the fault and ask whether it’d be possible to arrange to have a replacement sent and I am yet to receive any response, despite having now sent two emails. I checked my spam folder as I can see in other reviews their customer service team advised their emails can be marked as spam but there is no response in my spam folder. Having previously bought a few items of clothing from Beyond Nine and genuinely loving the brand, I will no longer be shopping with them. Not at all what I expected from the brand, especially given the high price point.

Sizing is bonkers

I had seen these worn on social media.
I am 160cm tall and UK size 12, so after advice from the company I bought a size small.
These are the worse fitting unflattering trousers I have ever tried. The quality isn’t worth the price tag.
I was very amused to see a ‘model’ on their advertising wearing a small but she was 15cm taller than me and a uk size 8. All so confusing esp as it says to order a size up!
I’ve bought barrel legs from M&S fit so much better and 1/5 of the price.

Friendly customer services

Had an issue with some trousers, which they replaced for me and also told me about care advise for my new pair.
Dealing with customer services via email they made it very quick with responding and very friendly too.

Impossible sizing

Ordering from Beyond Nine is a tricky experience. The sizing seems extremely inconsistent with two items of the same size being very different at the waist. On top of that, they often seem to be out of stock in some sizes.

The quality of the items was fine but didn't, to me, justify the price tag.

Black Friday

I saved for ages to buy a dress I’d seen online and wanted for Christmas, I bought it, and then a few weeks later it went into the Black Friday sale. I contacted them to ask if I could return and rebuy as I haven’t worn it yet / it still has tags on and they said no. I understand there will be sales after Christmas but I didn’t think small brands did Black Friday as assumed they were selling goods at a fair price if made ethically. It just feels very unfair and mean spirited to not let me return and repurchase.

We completely understand how frustrating it can feel when a sale begins after you’ve placed an order, especially when it’s a piece you’ve saved and looked forward to. We really do appreciate your excitement for the dress!

As a small business, we do need to have a clearly defined start date for any promotion, and we aren’t able to backdate sale prices. If we were to apply discounts retroactively, there would be no clear line for when a sale begins, and we would then need to honour it for all previous orders, to ensure fairness to all customers. Unfortunately, this wouldn’t allow us to run the business effectively, and it would compromise the integrity of our planned sale periods.

We do allow returns and exchanges 14 days from delivery, but we try to limit returns wherever possible, as they have a significant environmental impact. Every return involves additional transportation, increased packaging waste, and leads to items needing to be reprocessed. As a brand focused on sustainability and ethical manufacturing, reducing this footprint is really important to us.

We’re genuinely sorry for any disappointment this has caused, and we hope you continue to love the dress you chose. If there’s anything else we can help with, please don’t hesitate to reach out 💛

Hidden Fees

Absolute bullshit that they don’t clearly lay out the DHL import tax that they are well aware of. Either bite $75 or say goodbye to all your money cause all sales are final. Absurd.

Disappointing customer service

I’m really disappointed with Beyond Nine’s customer service. I bought a pair of trousers using a gift card from a family member, but they turned out to be far too short — and I’m just above average height for a woman. I exchanged them for a bigger size, but they were still too short.

When I asked for a refund, I explained that none of the trousers would fit me and requested a full refund, including the value of the gift card. I was told they would refund the gift card, but instead, they simply put the money back onto the same gift card rather than refunding it to the original payment card. It took several emails and a lot of chasing to even get that clarified.

To make matters worse, although they refunded the cost of the trousers, they deducted the initial delivery charge. I find it shocking that they still charge for delivery when the trousers cost nearly £150 to begin with.

If you are a shorter woman, the trousers look great and would fit well.

Overall, a very disappointing experience — poor communication, inflexible policies, and not what I’d expect from a supposedly premium brand. I wouldn’t recommend shopping with Beyond Nine.

Regarding the refund, the process you experienced was handled automatically through our system. Our customer service team does not manually issue refunds, we can only amend them once they have been processed. We did our best to support your request, which is outside our usual process, and we’re glad we managed to resolve this for you by having the gift card value refunded rather than solely reissued.

With delivery charges, we do waive them on orders over £150, but unfortunately we’re not able to absorb delivery costs for orders under that threshold. In the future this is something we would love to offer to our customers.

We understand how frustrating this situation has been, especially when the fit wasn’t right for you, and we’re sorry that the outcome hasn’t met your expectations. We’ll make sure your feedback is shared with the team, as we’re always looking for ways to improve.

Great customer service

Wrong sizing chart and bad customer service

Sizing chart is way off and sales outside of the UK are final. I was contacted by customer service after I left a review, saying they wanted to help me return or exchange the product, only for them to backtrack in their third message. Also against the use of AI agents, would prefer to talk to human beings.

Edit: there are no « next steps », as sales outside the UK are final. The latest message was only about helping for future purchases, but there will not be any.

Comfortable, but a low quality

Bought Margot Navy Cotton Jersey Jumpsuit at the end of June (I heard from a friend that it’s a comfortable wear during the pregnancy). Started to wear it in September, when other clothes became too tight- and yes this is a cozy jumpsuit. However the quality is rather poor! There are already holes in one pocket and bright dots at the top of the pockets and front pleats (seamstress markings?) that look like I will have a bleach stains on the outfit. Quite disappointing…

Sorry, I believe you have misunderstood. The link you sent states '34.—(1) The trader must reimburse all payments, other than payments for delivery, received from the consumer, subject to paragraph (10)' Please also refer to the official government website linked below for clarification. A refund for postage is not required when a customer returns an item because they no longer want it, for example, if it’s the wrong size, colour, or style. Your return reason stated “Do not like the style”, which falls under this category of not having to refund the postage fee.

Sustainability credentials don't stack up

Really wanted to love this brand - but their sustainability credentials do not stack up.
I purchased a wool jumper under the belief that they as a sustainable brand which ensures their suppliers adhere to sustainable and ethical practices. Upon receipt, I couldn't see anything in the labelling indicating this was the case with the materials used in the jumper, so I queries with the company.
Initially, I had to speak to an AI agent who told me they didn't have any information on their suppliers, which sounded quite off to me. Eventually I was able to get through to a human, but they were still unable to offer any answers and kept repeating that they couldn't provide the information I wanted due to their relationships with their suppliers. This was despite me saying I just wanted to know basic information regarding certifications held by their wool suppliers, which for a brand positioning themselves as sustainable should be readily available.
There was overall a really concerning lack of transparency. I am always looking for brands where their sustainability credentials can be substantiated and it seems that unfortunately Beyond Nine may fall into the category of brands using sustainability key words to justify thehigher price point, rather than showing true commitment to what that actually means.

Returns process is utter chaos

Returns process is utter chaos. I had to send several emails, and go through the rigmarole of their online portal about eight times. It is a very buggy and not remotely fit for purpose. I would not recommend purchasing from here, as getting a refund is an absolute mission.

Not delivered and no response

Ordered the Huxley trousers almost 3 weeks ago. Emailed customer services twice, for an update but no response. Order status not updated on the ‘Shop’ app, my bank has been debited but no sign of the trousers. Really disappointed. If I want a refund I don’t think anyone would respond to me, really poor service.

I have received an email on Tuesday 30 September to say the trousers will be refunded. I haven’t received a dispatch email. So that doesn’t make sense. Also not sure what you are referring to when you say goodwill gesture.

Very overpriced

Very overpriced, even using sustainable fabrics blah blah blah it is a rip off, and greedy and the fact you get free postage only after you spend 150 is a joke! Don't fall for the hype.

Here are a few things that contribute to our pricing:

Sustainable Materials: We use certified organic and sustainable fabrics, which are more expensive than conventional ones, but they’re better for the planet and for the people who wear them.

Ethical Manufacturing: All of our garments are made in small batches by people who are paid fairly and work in safe conditions. We don’t cut corners, and we don’t mass-produce.

Design & Quality: Our pieces are thoughtfully designed to be worn throughout different stages of life, including pregnancy and beyond, and built to last, reducing the need for constant replacement.

As for the free postage threshold, we set it at £150 to help offset the high costs of offering free shipping, while still keeping things as fair as possible across the board as we offer one free exchange.

We’re really proud of what we do and the values behind it, though we completely understand that our pieces won’t be the right fit for everyone and that’s absolutely okay. I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing! H&M have better quality!

After wearing my beyond nine Mabel chocolate linen trousers twice, the fabric started to bobble and thin. I reached out to customer services to let them know and to being steps for a refund/exchange. On the website it states a quick response but three weeks later I hasn’t heard back - even after a follow up email and even resorting to asking for help on one of their IG images. All my messages went read and it was only after mentioning TrustPilot did I get a response however after asking a follow up question (the trousers are now out of stock it appears) I haven’t received a response 5 days later and doubt I ever will. I have linen trousers from M&S and H&M that have last longer than the month I’ve had the Mabel chocolate linen trousers - given the cost of this brand’s items their customer service (or lack of) is disappointing. Don’t fall for the IG hype!

I can see we did get back to you to explain that your message had landed in our spam folder, which is rare, and we’re currently looking into why that happened.
We absolutely agreed that the issue you raised with your Mabel trousers didn’t meet our usual high standards, and we sent over a link offering you either a full refund or an exchange. Unfortunately, the Mabel trousers in Chocolate sold out back in July and haven’t been available since, which is why that specific option was not available.
However, the link we sent still allows you to choose a different pair or request a full refund, whichever works best for you. We’ve just sent a follow-up email as well, feel free to reply there with your preferred option. I’ll also be keeping a close eye on things to make sure nothing gets missed.
