Buyer Beware of Besley Heritage Ltd

Discovered a vintage car offered by Mr. Charles (Charlie) Besley of Besley Heritage Ltd, purveyor of fine vintage automobiles. He convinced me to send a deposit and asked for £10,000 which, according to the deposit form, was fully refundable if the sale didn’t conclude. Luckily, I only agreed to £5,000 and wired the funds. I quickly determined there were too many complications and additional costs and three days later I canceled the purchase. Thus began a long series of delays, excuses, empty promises and many statements that turned out to be false. After threatening to report the business to a trade ombudsman, I did receive a small partial payment. At this point I’m still owed approximately £3,000, almost two months later. Not a large sum, to be certain, but for a business that presents itself as a dealer of expensive automobiles, something is seriously amiss and feel an obligation to my fellow car collectors to forewarn them to tread carefully.
