Extremely disappointed with Batik Air. The staff were unhelpful and rude, and seemed unable to do their jobs properly. The system was a complete mess. During our flight from Kuala Lumpur to Dubai with... See more

Worst airline I’ve ever experienced and I’ve travelled a lot pay a bit more for the better airlines they were late both sides taken off. The seats were terrible. Stuff were not that nice. They lost my baggage from Bali to Brisbane which is a six hour one-way flight and then it’s trying to compensate me 18 AUD been very dismissive seats are terrible no TVs yet the CEO earns 28 million never use never ever.

0 stars. My wife's suitcase was badly cracked wehn flying from KL to HK. No longer able to use. Went through their pathetic whatsapp process and finally got a email address to send evidence of damages. We submitted a form that we had to have gotten before we left the baggage area in HK, then Batik Air, as if not understanding English at all, said they are happy to assist with our claim with travel insurance. WE ARE NOT CLAIMING TRAVELLING INSURANCE, WE ARE CLAIMING FROM YOU BECAUSE YOU BROKE OUR LUGGAGE.
They ignore their paying customers emails, and if they do they answer something completely unrelated. They don't follow their policies.

Agoda showed 20kg checked baggage included, but Batik Air denied it at airport and forced us to pay again
We had a very stressful experience with Agoda and Batik Air regarding prepaid baggage.
We purchased flight tickets through Agoda, and our confirmation email clearly stated that each of the four passengers was entitled to 7 kg cabin baggage + 20 kg checked baggage per person. That means a total of 80 kg of checked baggage for our group.
However, when we arrived at the airport, Batik Air staff told us that no checked baggage was visible in their system. We showed them the Agoda confirmation email where the baggage allowance was clearly specified, but the airline representative refused to investigate the issue, call anyone, or provide assistance. Instead, we were told we had to pay for all 80 kg of baggage again at the airport.
Because our flight was about to depart, we had no choice but to pay a very high additional fee for the baggage.
We have a video of our conversation with the Batik Air check-in representative, who declined to help resolve the discrepancy between Agoda’s booking confirmation and the airline’s system.
We are currently seeking clarification and a refund for the extra baggage charges.
FLIGHT CANCELATION BY BATIK AIRLINE, REFUND TAKES FOREVER
Bought depart and return flight ticket from KCH to KK, end up cancel by batik air. Plus, its has been a week and I still haven't received my refund. I was informed that the refund takes forever(14 to 204 days) to process. OVERALL NOT A RECOMMENDED AND NOT A RELIABLE AIRLINE
The worst crookedest airline ever in 50…
The worst crookedest airline ever in 50 years of world travel.
After my booking failed to register my suitcase I went back on line to add it…. this failed so I went directly to the checkin counter 2 days prior to travel. They would not help me so the next day I went to the ticketing office…… closed at 2pm! Retried to pay online…… failed!
Then when we went to checkin for our flight the same staff we met before told us too bad for you……pay $300USD!
Horrific experience with this shocking…
Horrific experience with this shocking company. Booked a return flight from Vietnam via KL to Bali months ago and got a good rate. They then moved the second flight forward 1 hour which means we didn’t have enough time in transit after our arrival. Attempts to change the first flight went ignored after trying to contact them from all platforms. Told we had to cancel the whole flight or apply for a meagre refund. Eventually got a refund and had to book another 2 flights which left us $1300 out of pocket. Never again BATIK.
My flight with Batik Air was delayed…
My flight with Batik Air was delayed twice, causing me to miss my connecting flight twice. This wasn’t just inconvenient — it completely disrupted my travel plans. Communication was poor, and there was no real effort from the airline to assist passengers affected by the delays.
What’s most frustrating is the lack of accountability. Repeated delays with no proper handling show a serious reliability issue. I lost time, money, and peace of mind because of problems that were entirely avoidable.
I would not recommend Batik Air, especially if you have connecting flights or a tight schedule.
Add-ons for everything - worse than Ryanair!
We tried to book flights from Batam to KL but kept encountering add-ons, eventually being charged a fee to use a credit card. We gave up and used AirAsia instead.

I went on a Flight from Malaysia to Bali, and I had the last place at the plane so I was surprised that all meals on the menu were served and finished, the cabin crew told me that only 1 choice is left that is fried not even healthy (From +15choices), I asked her about water she said, I should finish with all the plane then go back to bring me water (Because I have the last place number on the plane) I was so dehydrated, so nervous, I hated this flight, I never experienced this before, what a disaster !

Very bad airlines with I respectable cabin crew I had 2 flight for almost 12 hours didn’t offer me even water what a cheap airlines.
Don’t use them
Booked ticket from per-DPS for today
Found they had changed my flight to tomorrow without telling me. Now they have the audacity to make me wait up to 4-5 weeks for my refund. They changed my flight.
Bloody pisspoor customer service and not helpful at all
Worst airline experience
Worst airline experience – zero respect for passengers
I had a terrible experience with Batik Air on flight OD216 from Mumbai to Kuala Lumpur.
At 5:18 PM, I received a message saying the flight was rescheduled to 12:30 AM, but the boarding pass still showed 22:50. It took 45 minutes just to get the boarding pass, and then passengers were left waiting for hours with no proper updates.
Crew showed up only at 12:45 AM, and boarding started at 12:50 AM — almost 4 hours later than what was printed on the boarding pass.
I stayed in the boarding area hungry because I was scared of missing the boarding call.
I had to extend my stay unnecessarily and board the flight without food. This airline shows zero respect for customers’ time or comfort.
Would not recommend Batik Air to anyone. Extremely poor communication and worse passenger care.
Anal weight limit policies & delays
Anal weight limit policies & delays. I was 1.4 kg over on the hand luggage limit of 7kg, and while they allowed me to repack into the checkin luggage, in the process my luggage zip was broken. The staff were uncaring, and I couldn't understand this policy, as the final weight on the plane is the same. On top ofvthat the flight was delayed 2 hours! I'm really getting sick of these cheap airlines, while I like that they offer different flight time choices, governments need to force themto pay compensation, and there needs to be some standardization of luggage allowances and also of the consideration of total weight, and volume.
Good flight
I was frightened by the reviews, but decised to give it a shot due to the good price.
I got a 20kg check-in baggage for free. The online check-in was useless, it did not give me which airport terminal do I go for departure. When I arrived at counter, the staff processed my ticket like I have not checked-in before.
Boarding opened 20 mins late, but passengers were few so we still got ready to fly on time.
Flight experience: It's the first time I've seen as a dirty toilet on an airplane. Sits were fine, enough leg space. What impressed me was that they gave water and bun even on a 1hr 50 min flight. Many low-cost carrier don't even do that.
Overall, I will still take batik airline again.
I rarely write reviews
I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience with Batik Air Malaysia so other passengers can make an informed decision.
On a seven-hour flight, I experienced severe menstrual pain and began my period shortly after boarding. When I asked for a glass of water to take painkillers, I was told water was chargeable and was only given a very small amount after explaining it was for medication.
I later discreetly asked a female cabin crew member if sanitary products were available and was told no, without any attempt to check further or assist.
When I tried to purchase a drink, I was informed that only cash or credit cards were accepted — no debit cards and no Apple Pay. As I did not have a credit card, I was refused service entirely. This left me on a long flight, already delayed, in pain and dehydrated, with no access to basic refreshments.
I understand budget airline policies, but there needs to be basic consideration for passenger welfare, especially in medical or biological situations that are not optional or avoidable.
This was one of the most uncomfortable and disheartening flight experiences I’ve had, and I would not choose to fly with Batik Air again.
ABSOLUTE SCAM - Avoid at all cost
I have hundreds of flights on my account and this is by far the worse airline I have ever flown with. First the app would not recognise my booking code and it took 2 days to get an answer and be able to access my booking via the app. Their Whatsapp Chat is absolutely useless, you might as well not bother. But this was by far not the worse part of our experience. I tried to add luggage to my booking via the app and through the webpage but was denied every single time. The "add luggage" buttons were greyed out or I got error messages saying not permitted. Again, 2 solid days of back and forth with their utterly incompetent customer service only to be told I have to go to the airport or a Batik Air office in Denpasar. So off I went to Denpasar Airport a day before our flight was meant to depart but again was told it's not possible and got told that we might be able to add luggage the following day at normal tarifs if we arrived early enough. The next day upon checking in for our flight we were charged an astronomical fee of USD 500 for 2 suitcases (which would have been USD 40 if we had been able to add this to our booking) This company is a scam, please stay away from these fraudsters, they will rob you blind.
Do buy trouble with hard earning money
Do not waste your money in Batik Air. The moment you buy Batik Air ticket, you just bought trouble. Frequent ticket change, flight cancel, you will wait at the airport for hours and no flight will show up, you wont get refund, I am waiting over a month now for refund.
Would strongly recommend against
Would strongly recommend against.
We booked a month well in advance, paid extra for a short layover in Malaysia and to arrive in Perth Australia at a manageable time as we have 4 kids. Two weeks prior to leaving they change the flight date and time so that we now have a red eye and a 10hour layover. No compensation whatsoever. They offered us a refund (in 6 weeks time), to keep the flights and accept the changes or pay extra to go back to the original flight times we had already paid for. However, it would have been an additional 3k because it was closer to the date. To make life easier I asked if we could just have check in luggage so we didn’t need to carry much on flights. This was denied and then they said we could but at a cost of $290/20kg/pax. Needless to say that’s the last time we use them.
Scam company
First flight delay of 1 hs on the aircraft, then we asked for water and they told us we have to buy it , but they don’t accepted debit card so they left us flying 8 hs with not even a glass of water. I found this an attempt again the wellness of a human been, I truly suggest you all to NEVER FLY WITH THIS COMPANY
WORST AIRLINE in MALAYSIA
Our trip KUL/PER was significantly delayed by an initial one hour then a further 3 hours all because of the arrival plane from CGK departed late. Upon arrival into KUL, all pax were already boarded, all baggages were already onboard but EYC lavatory door at the aft section of the aircraft were damaged by a pax on the returning CGK/KUL flight.
For context basis, there were other aircraft on the ground which were parked on the apron.
This ridiculous airline instead of using one of their aircraft on the tarmac decided it was more cost effective to make pax delayed for their flight.
Not only was the flight delayed, but all our plans were delayed due to batik airline.
Batik Air Malaysia or Indonesia should be considered a last resort option if you can’t fly on another airline or if you’re very desperate. AVOID at all cost if you can.
ZERO comms by ground staff, flight commander, or in-flight crew for extra delays.
F&B service delayed by 2 hours because there was an issue with the reheating system.
