It’s disappointing, especially because I used to really like the brand.
I’ve bought four pairs of Barner glasses over the years, and unfortunately, I can’t recommend them anymore.
Every single pair I’ve owned has ended up breaking in the same place, right next to the hinge. This wasn’t due to drops or misuse, just normal day-to-day wear. After a while, it started to feel less like bad luck and more like a recurring issue with the design.
What really stood out to me is that Barner actually acknowledged this in their response. They said: “The small piece near the hinge can sometimes break if the temples are being slightly overextended when the glasses are removed…”
That’s essentially admitting the frame allows a movement that it can’t handle over time, which doesn’t make much sense from a design perspective.
My most recent pair made things worse as it arrived with a loose arm straight out of the box. I reached out expecting a straightforward replacement, but instead I was told to either get it fixed myself at an optical shop (they would refund me tho), accept a £4 refund, or send the glasses back and wait without them until a new pair is shipped.
I rely on these glasses for work, so being without them isn’t really an option. Having to fix a brand new product myself also doesn’t feel right, and the immaterial £4 refund is not a serious solution. None of these options represents a company taking responsibility for selling a defective product. The burden is entirely pushed onto the customer, either in time, inconvenience, or cost.
After four purchases and the same failure happening each time, this doesn’t feel like an isolated problem. It’s disappointing, especially because I used to really like the brand.

Confusion
Refuse to reply to my numerous emails. I bought 4 pairs of glasses. 1 pair they sent frame but without my correct prescription lenses. They ignore all my correspondence regarding this error. Eventually the prescription was sorted out after returning the frames to Spain & lenses corrected. Definitely not worth the hassle though.

Lovely shopping experience!
The product was shipped very quickly, and the appearance and quality of the glasses were also very good.
I entered the wrong email address when placing the order, which resulted in me not receiving the order confirmation at first. I contacted the customer service staff, and they responded very quickly and helped me handle it. I will give this shopping experience full marks!

Customer support is premium , the glasses are well made , thay last aproxx 2 years for me (prescription) , great value for price! Loyal Barner customer :))
Be wary about the returns policy...
UPDATED REVIEW: After a misunderstanding about the sizing of the glasses and the returns process, I was able to negotiate with the customer service team a reduced return fee. In total, I paid around £20 to return them. Some of this goes to customs, which I appreciate is one of those things, but it did feel like it was more difficult than it needed to be. For a £50 order, it still feels annoying, but there we go.
I'm updating my original review to three stars which I think is fair. Ismael on the customer care team was communicative, and once we'd agreed on a way forward, was very helpful and checked in on the return process multiple times.
I would just urge anyone ordering from the UK to bear these return fees in mind. The company policies which come up on Google are incorrect (not sure why the pages are still live!) but just be sure on the sizing before you buy...

I bought my second pair of glasses from Barner and they had a small defect. Customer support was so helpful and friendly, for sure I'm buying more in the future and recommend anytime I can, I mean, their designs are also super cool!

I am already used to the products (already have 3 frames) but they really went the extra mile - I wanted a certain type of frame that for some reason it did not work to add it to the basket and Ismael from customer support was really quick in placing a manual order. They claim 30 days return, and hide all the little details, you don’t get full refund.
And apparently prescription glasses can’t be returned, although they state it everywhere, even on prescription page, they hide that details very good and the full terms and conditions.
So shady and dishonest…
