I initially had a good experience publishing the Spanish version of my book, but everything changed when we moved on to the English translation. The first draft was clearly done using AI, full of literal, inaccurate translations that made no narrative sense.

Revisions took weeks, and after posting an honest review, they offered promotional materials as compensation. However, they later refused to send them unless I deleted my negative review—something I found unethical and coercive.

I cannot recommend this company based on how they handled my project and feedback. Authors deserve professionalism, quality, and above all, integrity.

They are an excellent team were always willing to my requests. Very respectful and responsible with everything that was agreed with the process of publication of my book. Very grateful to its services and professionalism.

I’m extremely disappointed with this publishing house. It’s been over three years and I still haven’t received my royalties or the rights to my book. They never answer the phone—never. The only way I managed to get a response was by telling them I had another book, and only then did a woman named María Luisa respond—EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful. She even did a video call with me. What really made me laugh was that once she called and asked me to please make a payment, because if I didn’t, she wouldn’t reach her minimum sales quota and wouldn’t be able to earn commission—what a total disgrace!

I absolutely do not recommend this publishing house. They’ve recently changed their name to BARKER BOOKS, but it’s still the same people. Don’t fall for their self-publishing scam—they don’t pay royalties and they keep the rights to your book!

Another thing I noticed is the huge staff turnover they’ve had over these three years I’ve been waiting for my royalties. The current staff leaves much to be desired—there’s no longer any sense of connection, no personalized attention like before. The only consistent thing is the initial sales pitch. If María Luisa is their sales contact, who begged me to pay so she could earn commission and feed her daughter—give me a break. I’ve worked on this book for over ten years. I don’t care if they make commission—I just want to properly publish my book with the right publisher. And this is not the one!

Terrible communication. We had agreed on a price for a basic package, and when we signed the contract, they indicated that "that service is no longer available" and that the new price had increased to $2,799. This sudden change in pricing is a clear sign of the service's untrustworthiness. Unbelievable! I do not recommend it at all. As always in these kinds of situations, the blame lies with the Account Manager, who is no longer with the company. A truly terrible experience.
