Great price, great car, super friendly staff! They even offer free transfers to and from the airport as the depot is about 10 minutes away. Highly recommend 👌
I rented a vehicle twice in three weeks. I had a stressful situation the first time around. The second time I got the full insurance even though I have insurance covered by my credit card company so I wouldn’t go through same stress and annoyance. It looks like you punish customers who don’t purchase the full insurance. Upon reading several reviews I found out that there are plenty of similar cases like mine.
Customers need to be careful when renting a car at this place. I picked up a vehicle in Sydney at Botany location. After completing all necessary paperwork the clerk got the car for me, handed the key to me and went straight back to his office. I had the vehicle for 7 days. I returned the vehicle after hours since my flight was early in the morning. You have a drop off key box and I did what I was instructed to do. While I was away in Bali I got an email from Bargain Car Rentals stating that a damage was found on the vehicle and that I needed to fill up a form that was included in the email. I was shocked about this email since during the possession of this vehicle I did not have any incident to damage the vehicle. You attached pictures of the damage which was scratches on the front left wheel rim. To my luck, I had taken a video of the entire vehicle before I started driving it, right at the lot where it was parked. In the video it clearly showed that those scratches was already there. I replied to your email with the video attached and told you that those damages was not done by me and that they were already there. You replied to my email saying that you were going to investigate. A day later you sent me another email saying that upon investigation you are confirming that the damages were pre existing damages and no further action was needed on my part.
You clearly tried to nail me but luckily I had proofs that those damages were there before. I am sure I would be at a loss if I didn’t have that video done when I picked up the vehicle.
So my word of advice to everyone, do not trust Bargain Car Rentals, take videos, pictures and document any damage or irregularities on the vehicle. Bargain Car Rentals don’t do a pre inspection in the presence of customers like most other rent a car companies do specially in Europe and North America. Bargain Car Rentals is there to get customers to pay for pre existing damages in vehicles.
For the stress you guys caused me while I was away 1 star was too much. Too bad there are no negative stars to score this company.
Great price. Easy to use website. Good customer service. Friendly staff at the collection site.
Car was poor quality, high klm & worn out. Shuttle pick up differed from location advised when booking & was difficult to find.
This was by far one of the most frustrating car rental return experiences I have ever had.
Before returning the car, I filled the tank at the petrol station directly opposite the rental location. I kept filling until the fuel nozzle automatically clicked off, which is the normal indication that the tank is full.
However, during the inspection, the staff member insisted that the car was not fully fuelled because the fuel gauge was sitting very slightly below the “Full” mark — probably only about one degree away.
I went back to the petrol station and tried again. The second time, the car only took around 1 litre before the nozzle clicked off again. The fuel gauge did not move at all and still showed exactly the same position.
When I returned, the inspector again said the tank was not full and told me that I either had to keep filling it or I would be charged more than $80.
So I went back again.
Because the nozzle kept clicking off, I found that if I squeezed the trigger very gently, I could force a little more fuel into the tank. The staff member then used this against me, saying words to the effect of, “See, you can still put fuel in, so it wasn’t full.”
This happened four times. I went back and forth to the petrol station four separate times trying to satisfy them, while the fuel gauge barely moved. On the final attempt, I kept adding fuel until petrol actually overflowed from the tank.
At that point, it was obvious that either the fuel gauge was not accurately showing “Full” or there was some other issue with the vehicle. Yet instead of considering that possibility, the inspector continued to insist that I had failed to fill the car properly.
What makes this even more ridiculous is that I rented the car for only a little over one day and drove approximately 90 km, yet after all these repeated trips to the petrol station I ended up putting in close to 17 litres of fuel, the car was a GWM Jolion.
The attitude of the staff member was extremely unprofessional and confrontational. Rather than investigating an obvious potential problem with the vehicle’s fuel gauge, I was repeatedly pressured to add more and more fuel under threat of an $80+ charge.
The whole experience was exhausting, stressful and completely unnecessary. Because of the amount of time wasted going back and forth to the petrol station, we almost missed our flight, and I eventually had to take a taxi to the airport myself.
I understand that rental companies need customers to return vehicles with a full tank. That is completely reasonable. But when a customer has filled the tank until the nozzle clicks off multiple times, the gauge does not move, and fuel eventually physically overflows from the tank, staff should have enough common sense and professionalism to consider that there may be an issue with the vehicle rather than simply accusing the customer of not filling it.
A very disappointing end to the rental. I would strongly recommend taking photos/videos of the fuel gauge, keeping every fuel receipt, and documenting the entire return process if you rent from this location.
Everything from online booking to pick up was seamless. Staff were also very helpful. Even phone call about a query was sorted quickly. Great service all-round.
The car category I booked wasn't available but I was quickly sorted out with an alternative that suited. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The airport transfer arrived promptly so we were there in plenty of time for our flight from Sydney. I'll definitely be using these guys again in the future.

All as described and straightforward pick up and return. Great value.
Very east to book and a good variety of cars to choose from. Easy pick up by shuttle airport to pick up car. It was nice to have polite service and help with extra insurance, everything explained about car before leaving. Drop of was just the same, thank you and certainly recommend and will use again. Price is very good and competitive.

Service was 100% loyalty kind pleasant. Best company I've dealt with
The car was poor quality. Very slow going up hill, brakes were gritty, acceleration was slow to kick in & the car play mode only worked when it wanted to & I did try different cables. If you have an early flight the money you save by using Bargain Cars you lose to UBER getting to the airport $44!!
A good point however is the service at pickup was excellent.
If you can drop customer off at departure zone rather than express pick up zone, that would be more suppportive
Had a great experience with Bargain Car Rentals! The car was in good condition, the rental process was smooth, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
What really stood out was their customer service after I returned the car. I accidentally misplaced my wallet after returning the vehicle, and the team went out of their way to email me and help with recovering it. I really appreciate their initiative and willingness to assist even after the rental had ended.
Highly recommend Bargain Car Rentals for their great service and professionalism. I’ll definitely be renting from them again on my next trip to Sydney!

Connor was great. Friendly, polite, courteous and even had time to run us to the airport after our rental.
Not many staff would offer to hot-spot their phone as i didnt have an Internet connection to check the sat nav route before heading off on our holiday.
Top job Connor!
