DODGY WORK AND DODGY STAFF.

UPDATE: Since leaving this review I have been contacted and threatened by Baker Roofing’s General Manager, NATHAN BULLOCK. I’ve also received a vile email from LAURA BAKER, when I raised concern over the threats sent to me from Nathan. This company is clearly dodgy and police are now involved.

Inaccurate timeframe. Lack of communication. Tradies rarely turn up. A “1 week job” has turned to over 160 days and still not finished. With their team demanding full payment before the job is complete, whilst their original contract stated half upfront and half at end of job. Disgusting group to deal with. The work that was done was sub par at best, and don’t even try complaining to Dennis because they’ll block customers online who complain about their service.

If I could rate them ZERO stars

If I could rate them ZERO stars, I would.

Hiring Baker Roofing was one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made as a homeowner. Work started on 05 January, and unbelievably, as of 10 April, the roof is still not finished. The level of unreliability has been shocking — constant lateness, and countless days where the crew simply didn’t show up at all. No calls, no apologies, no professionalism.
The work that has been done is a mess. Crooked sheets, sloppy joins, and areas that already look like they’ll fail. When I tried to raise these issues with the site foreman, Dennis Crisan, I was met with arrogance and attitude instead of any willingness to fix the problems. Every concern was dismissed like it was an inconvenience to them.
This company has wasted my time, my money, and my patience. If you value your home, your schedule, or basic respect, avoid Baker Roofing. I wouldn’t trust them to install a garden shed roof, let alone a full metal roof on a house.

AVOID

An incredibly incredibly difficult experience working with Baker Roofing.

Tl;dr: the office guys come across great on the phone and coming to evaluate the work, but those doing the work are random contractors who are incredibly flaky with highly uneven workmanship and break things. I would never work with them again.

Also - they had mixed reviews before I worked with them on Google already and it looks like they are wiping their listings and restarting them. Boo!

Longer story:
Jacob came to give a quote, was very nice and responsive over email, seemed very knowledgable.
First guys came to replace a valley and put in gutter guards
Fault #1 - They missed their first appointment and then showed up totally unannounced on a weekend before a thunder storm and left the roof uncovered when it started raining. We had to call them back to cover it.

Fault #2 We flew our own drone over the roof and found issues including this piece of tar(?) that had just fallen out. They also left leaves all over the property that they just threw off the roof

We were overseas (which had been communicated), and then they told us they'd come the next day to fix it which I didn't confirm. Next thing I know, they told us they had finished the repairs and wanted payment....despite the fact that our property is entirely gated and locked.
Fault #3 The roofers it seems jumped the fence onto our property without confirmation that they could come fix our roof.

We get home and find a hole in our soffit right under where the gutter guard had been installed.

From there, it took another 6 weeks and multiple cancelled appointments before we could get our soffit repaired.

The only reason it's not a one star review is because the work is actually done at the end and Greg/Nick were always polite over email and phone. But it literally took 3 months from paying the first deposit to now just to replace a valley and install gutter guards. Ouch.
