Just got back from mill rythe coastal village, nice break, but wanted to mention pool area, riddled with rust flooring covered in mould, flooring sticking up, definitely needs health and safety check... See more

Tattersall lakes at your own risk
Do i really have to leave a star! I dont know where these people who think that tattersall lakes is worth 5 star either their blind or not very fussy. Breakfast had to be eaten in the spitfire bar i was on half board charged more for full breakfast not advertised apparently there is a seperate half board menu never offered this it takes ages to arrive lukewarm bacon looks like it was shown the pan. The final straw drank a cup if coffee waited till finally i left and had to buy some cererals at the shop in order to eat and as a diabetic very important. Dinner was informed that certain things i wanted that evening were extra at which point left had to eat at the pub which cost £31 atmosphere much better not many running round screaming kids first time my dog could relax so if you must come here don't expect much and certainly don't buy the breakfast or half board option not worth it and certain places the dog cannot go so limited. Went to make an offical complaint the manager/s could not even apologise in person sent a minion to do it for them rang head office told it was the park that had to deal with this in fact when i said i wanted to leave early they coukd have not given s--t nit what told by head office not what was told by them they would try to find a way for me to stay like everything else about thus park / company the caravan while basically clean on closer inspection not so the only good thing about this rat hole is the jet ski place which does have a really nice cafe so therefore i am leaving early supposed to have been a relaxing get away before having a surgical procedure did not get that and has for the planes well don't forget your hear defenders you will certainly need them
Wish I could put 0 stars
Wish I could put 0 stars. Absolutely disgusting place. Despite saying it would, we had no parking space next to our house when all others did, so we parked on the side of the road a fair walk away. The lodge was dusty, had loads of cobwebs and was FILLED with spiders! We called reception twice and had two of our party walk up on two separate occasions to ask for a hoover so we could clean the place ourselves and we got nothing for over an hour and a half. It was dirty enough that we didn’t want to unpack or move around without cleaning so this time was wasted sat in the kitchen waiting for them. Many members of our party were reduced to tears within the first few hours because of the dirtiness of the place and the unhelpfulness/ boarding on rudeness of the staff. We also came to find out there is no WiFi, also despite saying there would be on website. Clearly in this area there is bad connection as well, which means we couldn’t even access our 4G/ 3G either. No access to internet what so ever! Really bad considering this was a multi generational holiday (grandparents, parents and adult children), we had hoped to play some games together and watch some of our favourite childhood/ family films and we couldn’t. Could barely even send a simple message to a friend on iMessage. After this awful first day we got to bed and the fire alarm went off… repeatedly. Long story short we found out it was being set off by the shocking amount of spiders in the system. This is the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in in my entire life.
Paid for a indulgent caravan on bude…
Paid for a indulgent caravan on bude holiday resort to be put in a very substandard dirty van with broken furniture chair dirty and falling apart also the sofa was same condition stinking dirty as well curtain rail well seeing was believing mind you lol 😂 they did say they could send someone to fix it and the furniture we have had to downgrade to luxury 😂😂 so called and they would be able to give us a slight refund would prefer to have what we paid for if it wasn’t for my husband I would leave and go home but he needs his break for reasons I can’t go into on here apparently nothing available in the standard we paid for do I believe them no still got people coming in today put them in our allocated dirty caravan and give us there’s take care of your already arrived visitors first then get the other van up to scratch for them to go in not hard really 🤔
Whitecliff Bay Isle of Wight
Whitecliff Bay Isle of Wight. Hot water in kitchen was so dangerous it came out boiling it was steaming, the dog bin near the children’s play area hadn’t been emptied for 3 days it was overflowing onto the grass. No mattress protector on any bed. Extra charge for dogs shouldn’t be , as units are not deep cleaned as in both our units our dogs got fleas within 1st day. Management did nothing. Only good thing is the beach
Accommodation was advertised as…Misled advert
Accommodation was advertised as superior luxury chalet with hot tub. Superior luxury it was not. There wasn’t any luxury in this chalet…..space was very small, beds were uncomfortable, hot tub was difficult to get in and out of with no space to walk around it. Disappointed to say the least and was definitely not worth the money paid. Would not recommend!
Filey Bay
Filey Bay - very dirty accomodation on arrival - spent 5 days so far fighting allergies due to the level of food, dust, dirt, grime and pet hair throughout the property.
Facilities are expensive and poor - one pub for food available (other food outlets advertised are closed) and arcades dont work or take the kids money without play!
Food at the pub is low quality and expensive.
Staff are friendly enough, but don't offer much else.
No childrens entertainment or live as advertised on website. Bookable activities are run by teenagers with little to none customer service skills or experience. Activity times cut short (15 minutes in total to make slime).
All in all, poor site and completely different experience to our Tattershall lake holiday and our Haven holiday at Primrose valley . Less luxury/ superior feel and more budget/ basic economy. Will not be returning.

Firstly the accommodation was absolutely spotless .
Provided all the towels linen and even tea towel dish cloth sponge wash up liquid and tablets for the dish washer.
Staff so friendly and helpful even rang me when I was there to check everything was ok
This is best by far the caravan site I have ever stayed at and can't wait to holiday with them again.
The pool was lovely and clean
No litter anywhere on site absolutely brilliant butiful site
Thanks Away Resorts
Barnouth Bay
I booked with away resorts again for our August holiday as a family to give us peace of mind for a lovely clean stay as I have had a bad experience in the past, as We have stayed a few times before at different locations I thought it was going to be as amazing as the last holiday, and they were Amazing, hence booking again. I continued to book and was given 79A Barmouth Bay, I wasn't impressed that I had booked an exclusive caravan for over a thousand pound for the week and been given a caravan that belonged to someone else, this meant that it wasn't as clean as I had expected, there was no attention to detail which i had expected, the toilet brushes needed to be replaced, toilets were not up to scratch, there were sweat stains on a couple of the pillow cases, and when we looked at the spare duvet in the wardrobe it was stained and mouldy, there wasn't extra pillow cases for the spare pillows or duvet. When We arrived I was told that people always asked for this particular caravan, I cannot see this to be the case . SORRY
Not to happy
I loved the site we have been there a few times before clean toilets and showers. A couple of machines in the laundrette were not working had to queue. My 3 grandson’s that came with us could not play in the playground area Because there were lots of older children in there unsupervised. The noise at nighttime after curfew time which was 11.00.pm which I thought was plenty late enough was very loud every night which kept me awake some nights till 1.00 am and there was no security on site . Therefore no one to complain to about the constant late night noise. The only time you could contact anyone was 9.00am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday
Dirty smelly and unkept caravan
We stayed in fishing lake 43 and the van was smelly and dirty on day 1 we complained and someone brought us a hoover to borrow so we could clean it ourselves!
Extremely dissatisfied and the outside was over grown with weeds and unkept garden furniture was broken and burnt will not be visiting again
Travelled 19th of August for two…
Travelled 19th of August for two nights. Paid extra £240 that included 5 adults and 3 children to gain access to facilities that were so hard to use. For example could not book any slots for indoor or outdoor water facilities. All other facilities were so difficult to gain access to. Use of booking system and QR codes made it a total waste of our money as so difficult to use. The entertainment was rubbish. On Monday evening we wanted to watch football match but at the bar only got plastic glasses that we had the pay a £1 deposit for each plastic glass. Could of ordered from our table using a QR code and obtain a proper glass. I am not able to use OR code due to technical issues. So the waiters are relied upon to take my drink to the table where I clearly cannot be trusted. Most of our time was in our caravan and decking area with a hot tub where we had to find our own entertainment. Very dissatisfied customer and will not return. My advice is do not book the facilities as a total rip off.
Dissatisfied, disappointed, mis-sold
After vigorously researching the best Welsh parks to stay at in 2023, we decided to book with Away resorts Barmouth bay. 12 months and many reviews read later we arrived on the 6th August and were instantly disappointed. We booked the comfort van after reviewing the specs and looking at the images provided on the website believing it would suit our needs. We were welcomed with a claustrophobic, old and grotty van (number 170) that was absolutely nothing like the van we were sold and welcomed with when we logged into our customer portal. I immediately went to reception to ask if any upgrades were available, and understandably as it was the 6 week holidays there were none available, no one enquired as to why we wanted an upgrade though.
Our hob only had 3 rings working. After reporting the fault on the app, fair enough an electrician came round first thing the next day. He took a look and said he would be back once the hob had cooled down but never did, no one from guest services followed up to make sure it had been sorted. There was lipstick on the glasses, a hole in the roof and mold on the walls.
Apart from us feeling absolutely robbed how is this not mis-selling? if there is a chance the van we may be allocated is massively different to the ones shown on the website and the van shown to us when we logged into our customer portal, why are these images not also shown on the website?
Onto the luxuriously heated swimming pool. It is tiny, dangerously busy at times, not at all heated and once again nothing like the sales script leads you to believe. There are no dedicated changing rooms or cubicles just an open plan room which meant me and my 7 year old had to change in the toilets literally straddling urine on the floor in order to gain some privacy.
The WiFi, again sold as site wide and usable. It is literally useless! even upon check in the first thing we were told by the advisor and even before being asked who we were was and I quote the WiFi is terrible, your phone signal will be better, if you think you'll be streaming movies then think again!
Next the entertainment passes that are included... Having entertainment passes advertised led us to believe we would be able to take advantage of the fantastic entertainment on offer.....well there isnt any. The only possible entertainment we could think of would be to visit The Sands complex which is a privately owned complex next door consisting of a hot dog stand, a bar that only the bravest would wander into with doormen included just to make you and your family feel extra safe, fish and chips shop, mini market and arcades. There certainly wasnt any Mr Tumble or Oasis tribute acts on whilst we were there.
Anyway onto a positive, Barmouth itself is beautiful and the beaches are stunning. There is plenty to do in the surrounding towns such as Porthmadog and the food on offer is really good, ISIS pizzeria and knickerbockers get a special mention
The location is great
The location is great, Filey beach is one of the best in UK, sadly our accommodation was disappointing as the en suite shower was broken for our stay + had lots of flies. Would go back to the bay but would not want to stay in a lodge again.
LOVED our stay at the bay filey
LOVED our stay at the bay filey. We stopped in a comfort apartment (just me, my son and the dog). Couldn’t tell it was a pet accommodation at all, was very clean, no awful smells ect. Everything included in kitchen you would need. Even had a dishwasher and a washing machine!
The site itself is also pristine, has a couple of places to eat/drink, a shop, swimming pool ect. Lots to do.
Walk to the beach is lonngggg when you’re apartment is near the entrance of the site (and also VERY steep hill coming back up) but well worth it. Beach is huge, all dog friendly.
10/10 site, would return.
Butlin's is back at Weymouth!
Liked: Nice pitches with close drinking water and electric hook ups.
Friendly and welcoming at reception.
Good supply of provisions at the shop.
Nice staff at the shop and every where else.
Local amenities very good.
Disliked: Noisy Adults who have no thought for other users.
Adults getting drunk and shouting well after 0030 hours.
Loud music from users who don’t give a care for others at any time.
Adults swearing (badly) very loudly in front of children and other families.
Must have had x4 different families who all seem to have not a care in the world.
Have NO regard for the quiet times between 2300-0800 hours.
Users blocking the car drive through with tables and chairs.
Children screaming at 0630 hours and parents just ignoring.
No management control of children and adults playing Ball games on the pitches despite the rules saying a no no.
They have plenty of rules in the T and C’s, but do not enforce them.
Many people that have no respect for the toilet facilities by not flushing the toilets, throwing toilet paper everywhere, soaking the floors with water and not clearing up, leaving taps running.
Narrow lane is inadequate for the size of the site.
Users travelling far too fast for the conditions.
Seriously, they have a leave time by 1030 and a quiet time up to 0800 hours. Good luck with that!
Left a day early as had enough.
Good luck!!
Loved our trip to Tattershall country…
Loved our trip to Tattershall country park.
Excellent value for money.
Hugely helpful, knowledgeable team members. Always willing to help.
Accommodation as described. In the future we will probably go for a lakeside lodge as we needed bigger beds . Lots of tall people in our family.
Only disappointment was the cancellation of water sports due to high winds and early closure of the lido on occasion.
Otherwise we entertained ourselves and enjoyed every min.
Owe Money and holiday
Paid for booking on 29 June for holiday 7 Sept. Despite this had requesting payment. Called and advised payment made sent over evidence three times, asked twice by banking how it was paid despite manager having evidence one month later a manager finally called and said needed more information which had to be obtained from bank. So 2 Aug info was requested from bank which would take 7 to 10 days. On 10 August found out holiday cancelled despite being advised otherwise. Cannot give the managers name but thus person didn't take ownership didn't respond to emails until pushed a month later didn't advise at any juncture prior 29 July on anything and now theres a good chance the the ferry that was oaid for will be lost. This person needs to be trained as. This will be taken further inside of company and redressed outside if necessary.
Retallack Cornwall website misleading and rubbish
Well the website looked amazing but it’s not what it seems the lodges are shabby settee collapsing and stained the only lights in the living room and kitchen were red bulbs which hurt your eyes no lamps just enough cups cutlery etc for 6 so constantly washing them. One frying pan. The beds small and uncomfortable. You will need to travel to get to other places to do anything as the water park on site is £24 per person for 30 minutes and there are 2 pedalos on site and far to expensive. The swimming pool is tiny and inside. Then you get to the restaurant absolute rubbish expensive and rubbish food. You can’t get takeaway it’s too far from them. We made the most of Cornwall but we had to travel. It’s just a very expensive shabby base.
We stayed in chaffinch 48 it was…
We stayed in chaffinch 48 it was disgusting dirty mould in shower and main bedroom urine stains on seating in living room blood on curtains stained bedding rust on microwave and roasting tins cutlery and crockery dirty saw cleaners using one cloth to clean whole caravan 1 mop for bathroom toilet and kitchen reusing bags from bins 3 out of 4 of our party have been hospitalised with mould spores on lungs my husband still in HDU on 100% oxygen next 24hrs critical
Last minute getaway to The Lakes, Rookley!
Just arrived home after a few nights away at The Lakes Rookley, IOW. This has been my 3rd visit, second since it was taken over. My favourite visit still remains with the previous ownership. Accommodation wise, I can’t fault this place myself and my children had everything we needed to hand, however, the staff do not go out of their way to help. I arrived 3 hours after check in, the desk was closed for the day, I had to go and find staff in the bar to find out how to check in, finally found my welcome pack behind the bar. Dropped bags off and came back out as was hungry. The restaurant was closed and the only offer of getting food was a take away menu. This was 8pm in the summer holidays. Thank goodness for the Co-op across the road for a ready meal! Unbelievable really when it’s peak season.
The next evening we ate in the restaurant. Ordered via QR code at the table for food and drinks. My drink never came - 3 bar staff huddled around chatting, so I went to the bar to mention and was given half a cider instead of the pint I paid for. The interaction when questioned was baffling and I simply couldn’t be bothered to argue. My nachos were more unloaded than loaded. Where did the cheese get to?
The entertainment staff were good fun, but the entertainment needs serious work! All extra activities that can be done on site are extremely overpriced. When you consider we’ve just stayed here, in the middle of Cowes week and the summer holidays and almost every caravan in our section was empty it kinda makes you wonder if these opinions aren’t just mine? The complex is clean and like I said before all equipment in accommodation was worthy of my money, but the service received was mediocre. We are booked to visit again in October but I’m not so sure I can be bothered now.
