I cannot thank yourself and AvMA enough for today in my hour of need as you listened and advised me accordingly whilst going over and above with your patience etc
Whatever happens in the future, you have reassured me that I have not done anything wrong which means more than you actually realise, and I promise I will be back to bring you up to date and sincerely in the future if I can help you or the Charity please just ask and I will make myself available as that's what I have always done previously and for the first time in my life I needed help and you literally were there!!!!!
Talk is cheap but I promise I will help in the future because I honestly thought I would have to walk away for the first time in my life but now I don't and hopefully by being honest and transparent will carry me forwards to help others and thats down to one simple fact! YOU WERE BRILLIANT and I will be forever grateful.
I could go on forever and if you ever have an open day or whatever I will be there 100% as thats important to myself, because to my knowledge I have done absolutely nothing wrong and if you actually saw my evidence etc you would be in shock but I know I am an honest person as I can sleep at night and have been to hell and back as discussed but it's people like yourself that keep us all going 100%.
Always

AvMA will help me greatly, by supporting me throughout my recovery from a severe life threatening problem caused by a cascade of Tees Nuffield Hospital clinical errors.

Vast knowledge of medical negligence claims. Procedures to engage Solicitors, i.e. what information is required to encourage a positive response from Solicitors.

I recently used the AvMA portal and found it to be very user-friendly. The layout is straightforward and self-explanatory, making it easy to navigate without any confusion. A smooth and efficient experience overall—deducting one star only because there's always room for minor perfection, but I would definitely recommend it!

Mos things are done well. One particular thing that makes navigation on your site difficult is the load of importand information that could have been organised, displayed recusing the overload and confusion at times. The form itself is a rigid one and does not allow more probable options to be selected (i.e., in the real life things are not "yes" or "no"

We recently had to attend a Coroner's Inquest with regard to our brother's death. The guidance and support we received from AVMA and Elizabeth was invaluable. Through it all, the advice and coordination with the coroner's office we received was very helpful. Elizabeth was able to secure counsel for us that enabled the actual hearing to go as well as possible in the circumstances. We felt totally supported on the day of the hearing which was a huge burden lifted off of our shoulders during this difficult time.

I went cold reading some of the reviews, so I felt I needed to leave one.
This review is intended as a warning to anyone considering involvement with AVMA.
I deeply regret ever being pushed into litigation through its actions. AVMA connected me with a solicitor who then concocted a profoundly misleading case full of lies. Concocted is the right word.
I have since been told that I was exploited by that solicitor. However, this situation did not arise in isolation. I hold this charity responsible for the circumstances that enabled and encouraged that exploitation.
A piece of advice: ask your AVMA advicer whoever that maybe, to attend the hearings. You may then discover just how far removed they are from the litigation they help set in motion. When the consequences become real, and when lives, and finances are on the line, they are nowhere to be seen. Then you might realize these "advocates" are not standing beside you in court; they are simply a handful of people behind telephones, entirely insulated from the consequences of the advice and referrals they provide. They are also not experts, in fact what qualification do they actually hold.
Others should proceed with extreme caution.

AvMA's support has been critical in making any progress in an inquest related to the death of our baby son. At times the whole process has been highly distressing particularly over the last few years. But AvMA has given us advice and guidance throughout at the most critical and difficult stages they have stood by us and made time to speak to us. They continue to support us now through the claim process. I can say I honestly dont know where I would be if we hadnt found AvMA, they have helped us make sense of it all. We have been working throughout all of this with Victoria W. She is nothing short of brilliant! We cant thank you enough for helping us through this difficult time in our lives and the help you have given us navigating these complicated legal processes.

I had no idea who to speak to about my particular concerns after being passed to and fro by hospital departments but receiving no answers and finding the contact details in the back of a booklet I had called and was connected quickly to Morgan who listened patiently then reassured me on certain issues and finally gave me some very helpful advice.I found him to be knowledgeable on the subjects we spoke about and I am confident that he gave me the best advice for my situation.

l was recommended to this charity and l was immediately impressed by the soothing empathetic voice and the vast knowledge and guidance l received today. The volunteer listened and after a lengthy impute from me, she was very helpful to direct me to the next level.
This is indeed a wonderful charity and who is extremely supportive throughout and l felt very comforted by this most delightful volunteer on the phone. Many thanks for making a difference to my life.
It is very reassuring that AvMA is always there to support you all the way with a special caseload specialist assigned if we so needed. This is very important especially those without finances who cannot afford an expensive solicitor.

I contacted Avma for advice on how to negotiate the pathway of a Medical Negligence complaint. A lovely lady Gillian has given me valuable advice and helped me with the questions that needed to be asked, it was done with empathy and professionalism. I valued this service as it can be quite daunting on how to go about sending the first initial letter, and how to proceed thereafter. Thank you Avma for a great service.

AVMA there is significant room for improvement in your charity's efforts to address mental health medical negligence and the challenges faced by its victims. By implementing substantial enhancements specifically targeting mental health negligence, there is a potential for a tenfold improvement in the overall effectiveness of your charity's initiatives.
Avma, there is a noticeable tendency among medical negligence solicitors to deliberately avoid taking on mental health cases.
Working in the field of mental health can be both fascinating and powerful, as professionals have the opportunity to support individuals who may have no voice at all. However, it is important as a charity you acknowledge that there are instances where serious mental health abuses and negligence occur. Unfortunately, seeking justice in these cases can be particularly challenging due to various factors, including the perception of mental health cases as less financially lucrative and the fear of professional consequences among mental health expert witnesses.
The Perception of Mental Health Cases:
Despite the availability of legal firms and solicitors specializing in medical negligence cases, there is a noticeable decline in willingness to take on mental health cases. This reluctance can be attributed to the perception that these cases are more challenging or less financially rewarding compared to other medical negligence cases. As a result, victims of mental health medical negligence may face additional hurdles in their pursuit of justice. It appears that there is a sense of impunity surrounding psychiatrists who engage in medical negligence, as they often face little to no consequences for their actions
Fear of Professional Consequences:
One very significant hurdle faced by victims of mental health medical negligence cases is the fear experienced by mental health expert witnesses. These professionals may hesitate to reveal unethical practices within the mental health field due to concerns about potential professional backlash or damage to their reputation. This fear can discourage them from fully disclosing the truth to victims and solicitors or addressing systemic issues that contribute to medical negligence. From experience this is widespread and there is a sense of impunity surrounding it.
Consequences of Limited Disclosure:
The reluctance of mental health expert witnesses to fully disclose unethical practices or systemic issues can have detrimental effects on victims seeking justice. Limited disclosure hinders the ability to uncover the truth, address the root causes of medical negligence, and implement necessary changes to prevent future occurrences. This perpetuates a cycle of injustice and denies victims the opportunity for closure and accountability.
Additionally, raising awareness about the importance of mental health cases and their impact on individuals can help combat the perception that they are less significant or financially viable.
Conclusion:
The challenges faced by victims of mental health medical negligence cases are multifaceted. The perception of mental health cases as less financially lucrative and the fear of professional consequences among mental health expert witnesses contribute to the difficulties in seeking justice. By addressing these challenges and increased awareness, we can strive towards a system that ensures accountability and justice.

They’re very busy, so I had to wait for a while, but I did find them helpful and knowledgeable. It’s a great pity that so much public money is being squandered, but so little, if any, given to worthy charities like this. They also have very useful self-help guides on their website.

AvMa really helped with navigating us through the medical negligence path we needed to take. As a result, by recommending someone who could help, a case was built and after some years (it does take a while!) A settlement was made that enabled my partner to live better

From the very beginning, AvMA have been incredibly helpful to us after the devastating sudden and unexpected death of our infant son Henry.
During my initial early phone call the man I spoke to was kind, helpful and informative. We were so grateful when they agreed to take on our case pro bono as there was no way we could have afforded legal representation otherwise.
We were initially allocated a representative who was very lovely and helpful, but later went on maternity leave. After that we were allocated Victoria Watson. I cannot speak highly enough of the help and care Victoria has provided us with. She is kind, compassionate, professional and extremely thorough. I had thought I might be able to put together the case for my son's inquest on my own but I now realise I could not have done a fraction of what Victoria did. She organised a solicitor and an independent expert opinion for us (both again pro bono), and went through all the paperwork with a fine tooth comb, leaving no stone unturned. She was always available by email or phone, and we are eternally grateful for her dedication.
Unfortunately our inquest did not go the way we had hoped or expected, but the service we received from AvMA, and particularly Victoria, was absolutely invaluable. Thank you.

Can AvMA please confirm whether or not the charity recives any sort of finacial donations from medical negligence firms. Can AvMA confirm whether members of staff at AvMA donate their time free, or do staff at the charity recive a salary, and how much is that salary.
