I have book a hybrid car by Avis in my trust that world brand company will be fair. Agreement was was meet and greet and price was fair when booking. However it turned out to be an opposite experience. On arrival to Kaunas - there where nobody meeting me and i was on my own to find way to terminal which is 1 km away.

On arrival to a small camping wagon / mobilhome office i was met by a guy who told me that i am lucky they have no more hybrid cars but they upgraded me and i will get a better car charge. I accepted this change and was glad. Rent was fine and return back was also fine. Money / deposit where released BUT 2 days after i was charged 41 eur by AVIS LT ... no explanation - no mails.

I have sent mail to AVIS DK and AVIS LT .. and 3 days latter got reply : sum deducted for upgrade of the car. And i should have read the signed document on pick up of the car where i accepted it with signature. Nice!! Thats how you do business in Lithuania Avis? Sell cheep car rents but then upgrade and get full price for rent! I am forced to pay and forget the 40 eur but this was first and last time i ever have anything to do with huge brand which is nothing then a rubbery on open street. Welcome to Avis !

Avis will scam you!!! Watch for additional charges. I rented car for one day from Avis LT at Kaunas Airport. When booking online I did not specify, if I need manual or automatic car. I can drive any car. On pick up, I was given automatic car, nothing was explained about additional charges, apart for not fuelling car before returning. Staff on pick up was more interested in answering phone calls, than explaining properly the rental agreement. After returning car, I was charge extra for apparently agreeing for swop from manual to automatic car. This was not explained at the time of pick up, no options given and no info about additional charge. When raised as query with Avis Customer Service LT, got only unhelpful answer that it was part of agreement contract. They would not take any responsibility, for incompetence of their staff at pick up location. So basically they scam you, adding additional charges you did not agree with. Absolutely useless company, never use again !!!

I would never recommended hiring a car from AVIS branch UAB "Litideal" at Vilnius International Airport. This particular branch is only operating under AVIS name under the licence.
I received three different invoices (different values) for having hired a car for 8 nights. The first invoice had a charge for 9 nights, after me disputing it they simply divided the charge across 8 nights instead of taking the 9th day charge off the invoice. Second invoice had fuel refill charge, although I returned the car with a full tank as it was agreed. When issuing the 3rd copy of amended invoice AVIS added additional charges as well as put back fuel refill charge.
AVIS has also claimed that I have burnt a hole in a driver’s seat, which did not happen, as I did not smoke in the car, nor I had any marks on my clothes of the burnt hole.
At the end I was charged 1,723 EUR for 8 nights, despite having opted and paid for fully comprehensive insurance.
I have used AVIS services in the past in different countries and never came across any problems.
Be aware of fraudsters!

AVIS Lithuania is the worst car rental agency i ever dealt with. My wife made an accident where the other guy went into the red light and hit our car, 100% his fault. we contacted his insurance they asked us a ton of papers after we have got them everything they wanted we gave the car to the service and we wanted to take a replacement car so they pointed us to AVIS which also asked us a ton of papers and they reply only once per day until 4 days passed and Friday came then they said all your documents are correct but you cannot get a car now you might get a car only on Monday or Tuesday because we don't have available cars for now, althought they had available cars on their website. They made us strgulle with a lot of documents and drag us until our car got fixed....

Customer service needs significant improvement. Additionally, prices on arrival doubled vs. confirmed reservation offer with no explanation from Avis side.
