Dreadful all round

Dreadful all round. First, takes MONTHS to deliver. They claim that this is because items are "made to order" - when what is actually going on is that they operate with very low cash reserves to minimise their investment costs. More on this later. When the priducts do finally arrive (3 months in my case, and each item arrived separately) the quality is VERY POOR, not as it looks on the website and the sizing is waay out. My swimsuit was far too big and had rough, unhemmed edges and the shoes were far too small and stank of cheap, Chinese factory plastic. This also means that the poor quality of the items makes the items seriously, seriously overpriced.I asked to return the items for refund. The initial response was no - they would not accept returns because 1) items were made to order and 2) items were not faulty.

At this point I explained that as a lawyer, I knew that they are not operating within the law. 1) They HAVE TO accept returns on internet sales within 14 days of delivery 2) inaccurate sizing amounts to faulty goods and 3) they are abusing exceptions to these laws that apply to custom made goods (eg made to measure, monogrammed etc) and that made to order, (even if they genuinely did this, which they clearly don't) is not covered by these exceptions.

I told them they could either refund me or I would turn the case over to trading standards and they could deal with them instead of me. They responded 15 minutes later agreeing to refund me.

So, in short, a dreadful company who overcharge for shoddy goods that take months to arrive - and then they lie to their customers about the nature of the contract, consumer law and how the business operates.
