False advertising

This auction house used false advertising to sell a toy purchased for Christmas. It was a devastating morning for a young boy. The auction house used an image from the internet to represent only half the product. They even listed the original retail price which is hilarious because what they were selling was less than half of what it was.Weirdly, they went to some effort to wrap and ship it carefully. When I inquired afterwards about the stock image they said it was only to give an idea of what the product was. The person who answered my queries, Anna, reminded me of a Monty Python character with the absurdity of her answers. This company is a sham. Be warned.

Avoid as stock control useless

Third time that I have won an auction and paid, then went to collect only to find they have 'lost' the item. Last time they tried to palm off with another lot hoping I would not notice. If you have to use them then please collect as it is much easier to demand you money back when you are there in person. Early 2022 they were a good outfit but now one to avoid, I will do so now.

BE WARNED!!!

BE WARNED!!!!

I would have giving half a star if it was possible!

I’ve brought 20 items to date & they’re either broken, missing parts meaning the items I’ve brought are only worthy of the bin. I’ve emailed with no replies & phoned to be told to email. The products they’re advertising aren’t the same as what they’re selling either do the description match the product which the last time I checked is against trading standards.

BE WARNED!!!!

not fit for purpose

Shocking experience with Amazon Auction, Alexander Aurelius exaggerate RRP prices, receivd ORION Automatic watch this morning not working, also bid on electronics European Plug only, with charges and delivery, not worth it for substandard goods, reading info on Amazon returns, operating manuals and instructions should be present. if Amazon cannot sell through Amazon Wharehouse, leave well alone. In this case unchecked returns probably means broken.

I used Alexander Aurelius Auctioneers…

I used Alexander Aurelius Auctioneers for the first time and was extremely impressed with the level of customer service provided by their staff. From start to finish, they were friendly, helpful, and always available to answer any questions I had. I also appreciated their speedy delivery of my items - everything arrived on time and in great condition. I highly recommend this auction company to anyone in the market for unique and hard-to-find items. Their staff is top-notch and their delivery is quick and reliable. Overall, a great experience!

AVOID THIS SCAM!!

AVOID THIS SCAM!!
AVOID THIS SCAM!!

I bought just over 100 items from Alexander Aurelius from "Amazon/Argos Returns" some items weren't available and I am yet to be refunded for those. To be honest, I'm glad they weren't available as practically every single item with a value of more than £15 is FAULTY and beyond repair. If you buy from this company you are quite literally paying to take away their rubbish. All items are imported, none of the electronics had UK plugs and there is no way that some of these items are returns as they have had YEARS of usage and would be years outside of the return window. The photos of items are deliberately misleading, they use stock images to make items appear new. The titles are equally as misleading with RRP's in the listing titles. Any real images are low quality, wide, carefully positioned photographs which intentionally hide damage and defects. Items appear new but in reality many have had YEARS OF WEAR AND TEAR, and they don't even work.

The defects that they are hiding are otherwise obvious ones. The one that has annoyed me the most was a premium headset that they listed as if it was new by using a stock image and including "RRP £144" in the title, they then had one wide photo of the headset on a stand which hid all defects. In reality the headset IS 3+ YEARS OLD, the earpads are disgusting and grimy and the charging port is missing, it appeared to be pushed in but upon closer inspection I found that all of the internal components had been completely removed. I paid £36.40 for these headphones and they can only go in the bin!

Other hidden damage to items included snapped microphones on premium headsets. The items that they are selling are almost all irreparable and they would have known this when listing the items.

They also put high reserve prices on items which are non-functional/faulty which again gives the false impression that the items are new and in working order. The £36 headset was a featured item and I got it at their reserve price!!

If you are buying to re-sell, you're out of luck. They sell all kinds of customer returns as ‘new’, the fact in most cases (at least 90% imo) the customer returned it is because it’s faulty; and not because they didn’t want it, or it wasn’t suitable. If there were any of those items from wherever they source their stock, they are long gone before they reach the ibidder auctions. Anything left is broken. I reckon out of the whole lot, maybe 6 items were genuine returns for customers not wanting the items, and the only reason Alexander Aurelius kept those items in their auction is because they were items that were of too low value, or that would be too difficult to sell outside of the auction e.g. Keyboards that are in other languages/layouts and super niche low value items.

All ink cartridges are empty and the printers don't work. If it's electrical, it either doesn't turn on, or it's broken. The dehumidifier looks like it's seen years of usage and it doesn't turn on and I know I mentioned this already but almost every single headset was faulty, lots of them looked years old with obvious wear and tear including degraded materials, some had snapped components, lots of the mice obviously didn't click, many of the wireless ones didn't turn on or had broken scroll wheels, some of the scroll wheels were genuinely FULL OF CRUSTY J*ZZ... and I mean full. It was disgusting.

I bought a PS4 game which was clearly a counterfeit, it had an A4 homemade/printed DVD cover for the case and the disc doesn't work because it's fake, it even looks fake as it's got a weird coating but in the photos it wasn't clear - all obvious faults that would have been easily identified during the listing process and that any reputable auction company would mention or remove from the sale.

I just wish I checked reviews before bidding, I got caught up in fomo with an auction ending with seemingly low prices but in reality I won't be able to recoup my losses here. I have repaired a few items but the majority of it is going in the bin - I don't feel comfortable passing this s**t on to my customers.

Both Alexander Aurelius Auctioneers and i-bidder should be shut down and any future "stock clearance/returns" auctions need to be better regulated.

I will be taking this to Trading Standards

Absolute scam

Absolute scam, you buy something looks good in photos and they send you broken things. That is if they send it at all. I lost £289. They refused to refund on missing items and won’t accept faulty items.

service went down hill.

They was good at first but as time went on I found they was constantly loosing items that had been won and paid for - it wasn't too much of an issue as they refunded fairly quickly but then back in may the service was disappointing, it took a month to get a refund for items lost and there was numerous emails unanswered.
I stopped using as there is more organised auctioneers to buy stock from.

A very bad auctioneers

I have spent thousands and thousands of pounds at this auction but they have no customer loyalty whatsoever.
I have a drawer full of broken watches I have bought from them. They never ever tell the bidders if the items they are auctioning are in working condition. They just post really really poor photographs.
They sent me a set of xbox earphones recently and all they showed, was a photo of the box. When they arrived, they where broken, no instructions, no jack plug lead, no ear cushions on them. In fact, totally useless. I asked for a refund, but as ALL AUCTIONEERS tell you. ITS SOLD AS SEEN and no comebacks.
Something should be done about these people because they are knowingly selling useless items.

I’ve been using these guys for a while…

I’ve been using these guys for a while now including through the Covid difficulties.
What a lot of people, who have posted bad reviews, are forgetting that the majority of the items sold through this auctioneer are untested returns so may well be faulty. Bearing that in mind and accepting the risk I have had many wonderful products from the team and have met a number of them when visiting their premises. They have all been wonderful, welcoming and polite. Lovely people and and a great company.

Goods not as described.

Bought an ASUS router from this actioneer through the I Bidder site.
The router was described as an ASUS RT-AX58U - AX3000 model, i was notified i had won the lot and advised if the invoice did not arrive by 2.00 pm to contact the auctioneer, at 3.15 pm i sent an e mail to the auctioneer asking for the invoice, i later received an e mail back saying the invoice was attached but there was no invoice, i contacted them again and received an e mail with 2 invoices but neither was mine, i re contacted the auctioneer and third time lucky received my invoice.
Being the first time i had bought from them i asked the procedure but received no reply, i paid the invoice via bank transfer and the router arrived quickly a couple days later.
The router received was NOT the router advertised, it was the lesser and older ASUS RT-AX56U - AX1800 model, plus there was no power supply, the site description and invoice description clearly state i was buying the RT-AX58U - AX3000, i contacted the auctioneer advising the wrong model received but 4 days later still no reply, buyer beware when dealing with this shyster Alexander Aurelius auctions.
I can honestly say this company provided the poorest customer service and experience i have had in many a year.

Great experience… usually I was buying from different auctioneers but this auction house works really nice. They send the invoice including shipping which save us a lot of time as we don’t have to arrange our own shipping. Bargains…
