Auditbot and Accountsbot review
A lot of time on an audit can be taken up by fairly repetitive work, and I’ve found AuditBot and AccountsBot useful for cutting down some of that.
The best features in AuditBot for me are the sampling and document matching, as these automate some of the more repetitive and time-consuming parts of audit testing. Being built into Excel also works really well as that is where I spend most of my time when working on an audit. One occasional issue is that the document matching can extract the correct data but sometimes presents it in the wrong format, so this still needs checking.
For AccountsBot, I find the accounts review and disclosure checklist the most useful. You can upload the current and prior year accounts, TB and supporting workpapers and work through the points raised online in a clear format. Both can then be exported to PDF and dropped straight onto the audit file, which is really useful for documenting the review.
