Aternos moderator Support Tlauncher which used to be launcher company but their rights has been taken now its a rat cracked launcher aternos is behind their back providing NO EVIDENCE tlauncher is safe and also they ban you if you mention about the new queue time they back it up by saying it has been their for years Seriously i do not recommend this hosting too

When I turn on the server on Aternos, it takes over 20 minutes to load and wants me to watch ads endlessly because the website is crashing, so it's not working. And this is how they make money off you.

Pretty good. The hosting is decent but the queue goes well more than 3 thousand and takes an eternity to be completed. There is no lag and 2650 MB RAM? YES!! But there should be a server list because I want to get my server popular faster instead of having to advertise it which you can't, 4GB storage is pathetic, but it's free so not even surprised, But then the plug-in list. There is nearly no plugins I want in there and even SkBee isn't here. Overall this is very good but also bad at being the best free server host.

I get that it's free but the experience is absolutely awful. I don't even care about the lag, but when you play with mods files get corrupted so easily, they go missing, mods who'd usually be compatible with each other aren't on aternos etc. The modded experience is actual torture. I can't join my server because of a missing resource, but if I download the world map and load it into singleplayer, there are no issues. DON'T play modded on aternos

This company is awfull. They restarted the server because i was butchering 50 animal carcasses, and the system crashed. I also bought 50000 V-bucks and they stole them. I will never play on an aternos server ever again. Also the made fail-rp.

falixnodes is sooooooooooooo much better. ive tested a ton or free hosts and this one is dogshit compared to a few others. falixnodes is an examle of a good one.

You can't even upload plugins. This host has extreme issues, you can only use plugins from their marketplace and if its not there. Good luck. They run on crappy intel hardware and even without plugins, it lags a ton. They have tons of ads and when you try to use an adblocker, an annoying popup shows up blocking you from using the panel. Would not recommend

Best server ever made

The service itself is not that bad but the customer support makes it definitely worse. First of all, if you have any issue they always state that it's the software fault assuming its a plugin/mod issue. Asking for help multiple times and reporting the issue with clear details did not help at all, they keep using pre-written responses or saying this is not possible.
Additionally, the Discord support server is defined "unofficial" because non-team members can answer but its still a support option linked in the website so that's not an excuse. A moderator in particular is rude towards members for no clear reason, enforces non-existent rules and takes the right to do everything they want. The rest of the moderation team is fine and friendly.
After 4 years of being in the Discord Server and at least 1 year passed in support channels helping people, 02.09.25 i have been banned by this discord server and the exaroton one too. ModBot (the moderation bot they use) dmed me saying "No Reason Provided" and I'd like to mention that I was not active in Aternos since 2 days before and in exaroton since at least 1-2 Months ago. After submitting a ticket appeal and explaining the case, the team member who replied could not find the reason and simply asked me "what did you do to cause that?". I answered already in my initial request and I anyway answered again. After 1 week no response from them.

Thank you for your time and for the opportunity to test the hosting. I would have liked to write a better review, but unfortunately the experience was not good enough to give more stars.

1. Technical Issues and Long Waiting Times:
Between February 17 and April 15, we often had long loading times—sometimes up to 15 minutes just to get onto the server. Additionally, we repeatedly encountered an error message: "Internal Exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset". I am certain the issue was not with our internet connection, as other servers were running smoothly during this time.

2. Missing Download Option for Backups:
I do not understand why it is possible to download worlds but not backups. Since worlds and backups can theoretically be similar in size, it would be very important for us as users to also be able to save the backups. This would give us full control over our data.

3. Suggestion for the Download Function:
A possible solution would be to link backups directly to the user's Google Drive account. This way, backups could be easily downloaded without having to be made publicly accessible. That would be a huge improvement in user-friendliness.

4. Switch to a New Provider:
We switched providers on April 15. Since then, the servers have been running without the described problems and everything works flawlessly. This shows that the difficulties were not on our end, but rather related to the server's performance.

For a free host its great, you can download any version and plugins, you cannot upload items which is a downside, but you can recommend what you want to see in the plugins section, you can also Advertise you Server is their Discord.

Upside: free
Downside: no ability to transfer an existing server to Aternos. This is the real dealbreaker that makes me not use this service. Not making a Minecraft server I guess.

It's free! why are people complaining? if you want the features then USE A PAID HOST! Like Jesus christ on a motorbike, do not listen to any of the reviews under 4 stars! Yes the host may sometimes stutter with INTENSIVE modpacks but if you are looking for a server for a 2 week phase then just use aternos!

My experience with it per now is really great, i enjoy the free server i made with my friend. Thank you aternos :D

The only thing that is a con for me personally is that the render distance feels capped to around 4-5 chunks

This server is so useless, i just added a texture packs and it doesn't let me join, yesterday i was still able to join with the texture packs now I can't it will go like locating server - generating world - saving data then my Minecraft is going to crash, the other servers in Minecraft are working fine, but this? It's making me so furious every morning even on afternoon, they can't even fix their bugs, why they still letting this run if they didn't fix the bug for better performance, not recommending to use it

Nothing went wrong. All the bad press is a little strange because all of the times I've used their service it's working beautifully.
