lpc and atpl un-freeze
I recently re-validated my licence and un-froze my atpl, I found Aspire Flight training very helpful and professional I really liked the fact that they provide a zoom call between you, your sim partner and the sim instructor so that you can ask any questions about the sim before hand, for myself this was very helpful as I had not flown for 7 months beforehand; Also Aspire kept in contact to ensure that I had the correct paperwork to unfreeze and offered help with who to contact to obtain that paperwork.
I asked to do a "skills recovery session" a few weeks before my LPC and atpl un-freeze, the instructor asked the elements that I wanted to practise before my exam; it was helpful to practise a raw data ILS and the other elements of the test after not flying for so long. It was called "skill's recovery" as the sim instructor cannot provide you training, but you can re-cover your own skills, thankfully near the end of my sim I felt not so rusty anymore and more confident after the e-mailed de-brief to give the exam ago to re-validate and unfreeze my atpl.
Aspire Flight training run the LPC very similar to my former employer there was a briefing, a few questions, the sim profile and a de-brief afterwards, Aspire provided us with all the things we needed for the sim from I-pad with Jeppesen charts, weather pack, performance, QRH and candidate brief.
I am grateful that Aspire exists so that I could revalidate and unfreeze my atpl on the Dash 8 Q400 the aircraft I am type rated on. Sadly the current situation in aviation industry is very difficult for many people but at least you can keep your IR alive and re-validate through Aspire Flight training.
