Looks like a scam
Suddenly got notice from PayPal that I had just subscribed, but I don't recall doing so. But at $79.99/yr I thought it was a good deal. But on login I was never recognized and kept getting the ad to subscribe.
I've required a refund, but I can see this may have to be disputed through PayPal.

It charged me 3 times on the same transaction when I subscribe and I have to lock my credit card to avoid further payment. Searching for reviews this company sounds like a scam and AVOID !!! why google still place them in 1st place and I am reporting to google too.

This site is a SCAM. As soon as I realized this was not officially Chat GPT, I requested a refund as per their refund policy. I went into my account and clicked cancel not even 30 minutes after I paid for the service. I also sent them an email. I received an automated response telling me that, my service would be canceled after my subscription ended in one year. There is no way to contact a human on the website and you are not able to respond to the automated Email. I have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge but who knows what will happen. I have read that other customers have continued to be charged even after they have canceled their subscriptions so I have canceled my credit card and ordered a new one. I suggest everyone who subscribes to this service do the same!

This is essentially scam. I thought I was signing up to the official ChatGPT paid service. When I realised this wasn't that, they refused to refund me. Now a year later they have billed me again. I asked for a refund. Again the refused. They say there will be no further charges but who knows?

I received confirmation that my subscription would be canceled, but I was also informed that my case was not eligible for a refund under the platform’s refund policy.
After carefully reviewing the policy, it became clear why: the so-called “30-day refund guarantee” is structured in a way that excludes almost all real-world scenarios. Common and reasonable situations — such as testing the product, changing one’s mind shortly after purchase, or realizing the service does not meet expectations — are explicitly denied.
In practice, this policy appears to exist only as a marketing claim, designed to create a false sense of security so users proceed with payment, only to later discover that refunds are virtually impossible. This is misleading and undermines trust.
A transparent and honest company would not advertise a refund guarantee while drafting terms that effectively make refunds unattainable.
