My daughter and I have now attended a few courses with Mark. This have been a wonderful experience and we have always been made to feel welcome and at Home.
I’m not so much the Artist unlike my daughter but I’m always impressed with what I have achieved thank you to mark with his step by step and patience

I rekindled a long awaited plan to throw some pots in October 221 when the first pottery short course started at Art Academy East. I have now completed 5 of these and thoroughly enjoyed them. Mark Mann, the tutor is fantastic; he is knowledgable, supports and encourages us to try new things whilst giving us the freedom to be creative. It is such a good learning environment. Mark and his assistant Jay are both lovely and the course is good fun. At the same time there is space and quiet to be in the moment, concentrating on whatever project you have on the go.
The studio is lovely and all materials are provided.
The course is well worth it! Try it!

I have recently completed my third pottery course at the Art Academy. The studio is lovely and has excellent facilities. Everything is supplied for you to complete your projects. The tutor is very knowledgable and is always ready with words of encouragement and good advice. It has been great fun and I’m already signed up for September and would highly recommend this course to anyone wishing to have a go at pottery.

Excellent confidence building intro to painting. Great tutor. All sessions well paced with challenging but achievable outcomes. Strong focus on techniques. More please.

I have now completed each of the four introductory courses - oils, watercolours, acrylics and portrait painting. Confidence grew each week of each course. I felt I had it in me to paint a portrait but it would never have emerged without attending Mark's course. Having passed through the four courses, painting now is not just more enjoyable, but more purposeful in that I believe I will be able to move forward to creatively express what I feel inside. Jeff S

Just finished my first short course with AAE (portrait painting). Excellent facilities, materials and especially the tutor, Mark: really helpful and encouraging. Reignited my love of making art! I will be doing another course as soon as I can.

Excellent course (How to Paint – Contemporary Coastal Scenes in Acrylics), thoroughly enjoyed it! Theory with practice - ideal for me as a beginner. No time to rest on your laurels though........! ;)

This course covers basic techniques in water colour, acrylics and oil painting. I found it really relaxed, enjoyable and encouraging. The different exercises were interesting and gave me a feeling of success so I am enthusiastic to take my painting further.
At last I can use all the ‘kit’ I have bought over the years thanks to Mark!
