Xenophobic and Rude

I have been a client of this practice for years, hold an insurance plan with them, and have never once raised a complaint. I want that on record before I describe what happened.
I visited to collect a repeat prescription for my dog. The receptionist was hostile from the moment I approached the desk. She was xenophobic, demeaning, and unprofessional in a way I have never experienced in any customer-facing environment in over thirteen years of living in this country. She mumbled under her breath while serving me, performed confusion every time I spelled my name despite me spelling it three times and using the NATO phonetic alphabet twice, and spent more time treating me with contempt than it took her to do her actual job.
I was patient throughout. I told her repeatedly I was happy to wait. I was not difficult. I was not rude. I was a paying client collecting medication for my dog.
I raised a formal complaint. The practice manager, Marcus, responded without once contacting me to take my account. He relied on the receptionist's own statement and silent CCTV footage - footage with no audio - to dismiss an allegation of verbal xenophobic abuse. He then declared himself satisfied that she had acted appropriately and closed the matter. When I challenged this, he did it again.
This practice conducted a sham investigation, accepted the word of the accused without scrutiny, and used evidence that is physically incapable of capturing verbal conduct to dismiss a discrimination complaint. That is not an oversight. That is a choice.
I am escalating to the Equality and Human Rights Commission, the Veterinary Client Mediation Service, and my solicitor. I have also cancelled my insurance plan.

Poor service and I feel taken advantage of.

Left waiting for half an hour after my appointment time which isn't great when it's the middle of the day and people need to be back at work. These things happen but what's worse is to have no apology or even acknowledgement of this when you finally see the vet.

After the appointment I was given a medication and charged £70 for it. It's the exact same medication and size of bottle that I've had in the past from my other vet who charged £25. I feel like I've been given poor service and been taken advantage of. I queried the cost, but was at a loss as to what to say when told it was right. It's not the lady on receptions fault, but after poor customer service and such a hefty charge I wouldn't recommend them.

Also, there's no continuity of care. They obviously have a problem retaining staff as every time she goes with a recurring ear infection she sees a different vet and they all have their own theory as to the cause, which just leaves us confused.

I rang from my workplace for a problem…

I rang from my workplace for a problem with an anima trapped inside. I only rang for some advice on how to calm to animal down. When someone answered I was faced with a very rude and condescending receptionist, making feel stupid and embarrassed for ringing a vet… for an animal that may have been injured. No compassion for my situation just utterly rude.

No compassion feel like its all about the money

Really disappointed used Armac vets for years will never be going back. Felt like they just wanted money out of us, the vet kept looking at the door like we had out stayed our time slot. On top of £51 for consultation , £30 to dip stick a urine test we also got charged £28 translation fee, when i challenged it was told that was the charge for the vet to tell us the results. We left thinking our dog was on deaths door if we didn't pay 2.5k for surgery.

AVOID!

AVOID!! This practice does not care for the pets only for your money! Took our dog to these as it was a bank holiday and our registered vet wasn't open over the bank holiday, our dog was struggling to pee, took him in they advised he had bladder stones and needed to be operated on to remove, demanded £3000 before they would operate, we paid this and they operated, then we were told when scanning him they hadn't removed them all so needed to operate again but it would cost us upto £2000 more and that they could do in a few days, we took him home after 2nights but he was worse when he came out he couldn't pee at all and was deteriorating so we had to call our registered vets who were brilliant and got him in straight away and removed all the stones. We paid £2000 to them. Unfortunately he passed away a few weeks after, I believe this was down to all the stress of having to undergo multiple operations due to the negligence of ARMAC. They also wouldn't let us see our dog until we had paid more money. ARMAC received £4000 from us including £1000 from our insurance for an incomplete job!

Gini

We recently lost our beloved dog Gini Ella in a tragic accident. A beautiful family pet that our family adored.
As you can imagine our three young children were devastated at the news which we received on holiday.
Armac contacted us to see what we wanted to do with the dog as she was pronounced deceased on arrival. We decided to have the dog cremated and paid £290 for the service via the phone.
On our return from holiday we went to collect the remains and was shocked to find that Armac refused to hand her over as they stated we owed them £106 from previous insurance claim , effectively holding the dogs remains to ransom in front of 3 year old son and other customers.
The receptionist and Deputy Manager were unwilling to allow us to walk away with the remains without settling the account which we duly did despite the fact that the monies as far as we were concerned were not due as we had disputed this with them a few months ago.
The compassion shown by the vets was non existent and as far as we are concerned down right disgusting to demand money at a time like this and given the circumstances.
Armac are clearly only interested in money and don't care about peoples feelings or distress when dealing with you.

During the Easter weekend I took my cat…

During the Easter weekend I took my cat on the Good Friday as an emergency to Armac. I ended up ringing up again the next morning as there was no change they told me my own vets was open which I didn’t know. I took my cat to my vets but with my vets being shut other the Easter weekend I ended up back at Armac. He had to stop in other the weekend they said they’ll keep me up dated but didn’t I know it’s an emergency vets and more serious cases come in. His procedure didn’t get done till late on Saturday the communication was poor just kept telling me he his fine. He then had to have a scan Armac had referred him I took him for this scan they said the results will go back to your vets. I waited and waited came to the Friday when they should have been there I phoned my vets they said they’d not received anything. On the Monday phoned again nothing phoned Elsmerport they said the results had been sent last week. I had to keep going backwards and forwards trying to find my results for my cat Armac kept saying they didn’t have them at all comes out Armac had been sat on my Cat results for 10 days and just filed them away because they where trying to say because he wasn’t a patient of the vets they get filed and not looked at when I spoke to elsmerport they said any animal who gets referred by a vet there results go back to them it as always been the case it’s not the first time Armac as done this I’ve heard off other people they’ve done it. My cat was delayed treatment it didn’t save his quality of life but how they treated the lack of communication and holding onto his results they need to think of a better way of doing things there playing with animals lives the Director of Armac wouldn’t even give me an apology for what they did I was disappointed.

The efficiency of this place is second…

The efficiency of this place is second to none.
My young cat had taken quite a bad turn and over a 48 hour period had got quite bad, I sat literally panicking watching her all day and night, I then rang vets, some were closed, others pointed us in the direction of other vets until vets for pets put me through to Armac, the lad on reception was fantastic Jack I believe his name was, very friendly and reassuring and none judgmental of the state I probably looked by the time I got to the vets having not slept for 48 hours, we were there less than 5 minutes before a lovely lady vet came and took us into the vet room and set about testing my cat, and then prescribed us the medicine which I hope fixes her. I didn't quite catch the vets name but she was amazing and very lovely with my cat (lola) and explained stuff to me in layman's terms so I had a clear understanding.
Excellent service and staff would highly recommend.

Fab local vets

Have always had a great experience with this vets. They are truly compassionate and can tell they really care about the animals brought to them.

A few years ago we had to bring my cat to be put to sleep and they handled everything with the utmost respect. A few years later we brought in my dog who was extremely unwell and they laid out all of the treatment options and helped us weigh up the pros and cons of each, and helped us to decided wether pursuing treatment would be in his best interests.

Now my current cat is registered with them and they have been wonderful with him whenever he’s needed to be seen, even throughout covid when things were more difficult. Armac is the first place that comes to mind if I ever need veterinary care for my animals and I would highly recommend them to anybody.

Absolutely barbaric!!!!!

Absolutely barbaric!!!!!
This practice should be shut down immediately..
Took a poorly squirrel after being advised by the RSPCA they have a duty of care..
I received the most appalling service humanely possible.
I was told to TAKE A SEAT AND WAIT FOR MY STUFF..
Stuff being a poorly squirrel they were putting to sleep because that was an option open to them without even examining the poor Squirrel..
Utterly appalling I will go to the ends of the earth to have this place closed down!
They will be reported 1st thing Monday morning to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
