💩💩💩💩

I don’t understand why we need to buy two separate tickets for one trip. The cashier didn’t explain it well and instead seemed annoyed. 💩💩💩💩

Unreliable

Unreliable. Poor information. We swapped from one train to the other. They kept blaming other problems changing each announcement.

You pay a premium for a fast journey and you don’t get it.

It is better and cheaper to take the pendeltag (commuter train).

Terrible unreliable service

Terrible unreliable service. Just arrived in Arlanda and had to wait about 40mins on platform for the train arrive. There is a counter to show the decreasing waiting time. Thus counter jjst increased up every so often. A poor introduction to Stockholm for an expensive service Not particularly clean and a bit of an odour on board.

Brilliant helpful staff.

Having left my bag on the train and in a state of panic needing to get a flight, the staff were so helpful in locating it and returning it in an hour so we could make our flight.

I have to say, it was a good experience all round. Fast, punctual travel in trains which were spotlessly clean with great staff.

Daylight robbery

The train was one time, as promised. It’s way more expensive than the normal train. However, the problem is that it is impossible to find the cheaper “normal” train when you arrive at arlanda airport. All the signs direct to arlanda express. I’m amazed how this is even allowed. In addition, when you arrive at stockholm central, there are special arlanda express taxis and yet again NO signs to busstops… daylight robbery!

Let's face it

Let's face it, paying SEK320 = €30,- /$35 for a one way ticket to Stockholm is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. Then the SEK130 gate access is another rip off. Let's compare a few world cities:
Paris-CDG by RER is around €12,- one way. It's not super fast but the trains that stop less often make the journey in 35 minutes from Gare du Nord.
Madrid by Métro is super cheap and reliable. The gate fee is €3,- + the regular fare. However if you buy a tourist pass at €26.80 for 5 days, then it's included! That's not even the price of one way from Arlanda to Stockholm.
Chicago O'Hare to downtown is also a lot cheaper. The ticket may have increased but it's under $8 one way.
etc.....
Even the Tokyo Narita express is a lot cheaper because If I remember it's under ¥3600 one way = barely €25 for a 60 km trip.
Honestly, Sweden IS expensive even with a falling kroner at SEK12/ €1,-. However, I like Sweden a lot but face it, far too expensive.

This is how trains should work

This is how trains should work. SL could learn a thing ot two from Arlanda Express! A great experience with Arlanda Express, on time and reliable. The price is kind of expensive but still cheaper and faster than a taxi for sure. The staff is nice and kind too.

WARNING - SCAM

This is a serious warning against counting on the Arlanda Express and the so-called travel time gurantee. On May 16 afternoon, hundred of passangers were delayed by an hour or more as the trains did not run. There is no effiicient plan in this case. Two employees tried to hail taxis which of course hardly arrived, while hundred of passangers waited in line. Many people missed their plan. I myself had a wide margin and waited for the taxi, and arrived more than one hour late to Arlanda (we were put 4 people in a tiny taxi, which itself costs less than one ticket on the train).

The company advertises a "travel time guarantee" but refuses any compensation for delays when it is really needed. This is the message I got from the company which I am sure they would not put on their webpage since it stinks dishonesty:

Dear X

The travel time guarantee of 5 minutes is limited to when the train arrives at the destination with a delay of 5 minutes of more, as in specified in 9.1 "Under the new ticket guarantee, a Passenger will be issued with a new ticket if an Arlanda Express train, for whatever reason, arrives at Stockholm Arlanda Airport or Stockholm Central Station within such a time that the Passenger experiences a Delay of more than five minutes".

When a traffic stop occurs this policy is no longer in action but is replaced by another. At Stockholm Central we try to find taxis for you to travel with that we pay for, but we cannot offer a travel time guarantee in this case as we cannot guarantee the supply of taxi cars or the state of the traffic on the E4.

If you are travelling from Arlanda or there are no available cars of the taxi companies that we have agreements with and you pay for the taxi at your own expense, then we can refund you either for the cost of the taxi up to a maximum of 1138kr or for the cost of the ticket that you could not use.

I refer you to our travel terms and conditions found here

We can not help you any further.

Vänliga hälsningar/ Kind regards

Really the worst transport company in Sweden

They really overcharge you in particular their so called station entrance charge. Just for exiting the platform they want 120 SEK. ( In addition you pay the regular commuter train fare, which is fair but handled by SL) Don't use their fast trains to and fro Stockholm city either. The are a monopolist of the worst kind. I sincerely hope they go bust adap. If you work there change employer immediately!
