Defective Workmanship and Non-Compliant Installation
I engaged Aris Roofing for roof restoration works, including guttering, at my property in Black Rock. Unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing.
Following completion of the works on 11 March 2026, the gutter system has not performed as intended and is not fit for purpose. During normal rainfall, water is not being properly captured or directed and instead discharges from gutter corners, running down the fascia and through the eaves. This presents an ongoing risk of water ingress.
I arranged an independent inspection by a licensed roof plumber, who confirmed that the installation is non-compliant. Issues identified included incorrect gutter height and alignment, insufficient and undersized downpipes, leaking joins, and installation methods not meeting required standards. I was also not provided with a Certificate of Compliance for the plumbing works.
Due to ongoing drainage concerns, I had the stormwater system inspected via CCTV, which identified mortar and construction-related debris within the drainage line requiring further remediation.
In addition, debris consistent with older eaves material was left on site following the works, raising concerns about appropriate handling and clean-up.
I made multiple attempts to resolve this directly and provided reports, photos, and quotations. While some issues were acknowledged, the proposed resolution did not reflect the extent of rectification required.
Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend ensuring independent verification of compliance and workmanship before proceeding with similar works.
