One book published. A second already being written. A third living somewhere in the back of my mind waiting its turn. A year ago I was someone who wanted to be a writer. Now I am one. The team gave me that identity shift and identities once changed are permanent.
Whatever comes next starts from a completely different place than where this began. That is the real gift. Everything else was just the delivery mechanism.

They turned my chaotic mess of a manuscript into a real book and treated me like a real author the entire time and I will never stop being grateful for both of those things simultaneously.

Wrote this for people who are genuinely scared of cooking. The team got that mission immediately. Every recipe layout was tested for clarity before print. My neighbor who burns toast tried three recipes from the advance copy and succeeded at all of them. That was my quality benchmark and it passed.

At first, I wasn’t sure what level of involvement I would need, but it turned out I had to stay fairly engaged throughout the process. Publishing tasks were completed, though not without some back-and-forth. Editing improved surface-level issues but didn’t address larger pacing concerns.

Marketing support felt broad and not particularly tailored to my niche. I didn’t experience significant growth from it, but I also understand that marketing results vary.

I was surprised by how powerful the cover design was. They provided me some ideas, and even though the initial draft wasn't perfect, they made changes in response to feedback. Editing was light rather than heavy, which worked for me. Authors may wish to make that clear up front if they want highly thorough conceptual editing.

Nothing went seriously wrong, but things weren’t always smooth either. A few details needed correction during publishing. Marketing support felt like a checklist rather than a strategy.
