Wish I had check reviews before I…

Wish I had check reviews before I rented with them. Started out great but when we brought car back a $192 charge showed up on my credit card. I called and was told there was some sand on the floor mats. We were in Florida. Called and was told I had to email the office which I did but never received a response. Tried 3 times. I have filed a dispute with my credit card. I guess I will find out what happens. This is a ridiculous charge for car cleaning.

SCAM!! STAY AWAY

My review is very similar to so many I have read. When we first got the car, the price was 5 times what the "final price" was when I booked the car online. I had to pay $110 for their insurance since mine only went up to $300000 and they require $500000 (a detail buried deep in the contract). Whatever, we paid it and went on our way. Little did I know that things would take a huge financial downturn.

When we came back to return the car, they told us we had damaged the hubcap. They showed us a picture and we went out to inspect as well and there was a small scratch on the hub cap that looked like it had been from rubbing a curb. We never even parked by a curb. The car was either parked in a driveway, on a freeway or on a small road to a state park with a speed limit of 25 mph. I told them I wanted to see pictures of the car prior to our rental and they said they didn't have any. I also asked for the rental history but they again said they didn't have it. I am certain they have charged multiple people for this exact same scratch.

When we got home I immediately contacted customer service and my bank to dispute the charges. Because the charge had not gone through yet, my bank couldn't do anything. Customer service opened a case and soon the $500 pending charge disappeared from my bank account. Due to this, I thought all was resolved.

THEN AFTER ALMOST A MONTH, THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD $594! No invoice, no explanation of the extra $94. Customer service said they would resolve it but never got back to me.

After numerous emails with customer service, I find out the extra $94 was a cleaning fee! The car was spotless. There was no evidence or explanation for the need for this.
Customer service then tells me that they have no oversight of this company because it is an independently owned franchise. They said their only job was to "facilitate communication". They failed miserably with this as the franchise owner never responded to any of my emails or phone calls until I started sending daily emails asking for them to respond. Then I get this mysterious invoice that I had never seen before showing the cleaning fee and the $500 charge. They attached our signed document to the bottom of it to appear as though we signed it.

This entire experience from start to finish was a nightmare. I am still fighting for my money back. They are master scammers and write their contract to be able to steal money from people and with little to no oversight they are getting away with it. Believe the reviews! I wish I would have. This is a very sketchy deceitful company. Stay far away.

I would never rent from AMP/Rent A…

I would never rent from AMP/Rent A Wreck again. Scam from beginning to the end. Stay away, you’re better off renting from the top car rental names. Last thing I’m going to say about this place is, online my total payment was about $30. So total I was thinking no more than $150 to $200. Total came up $331 out the door. Few days later they charged me again for $42 saying it’s a cleaning fee, to what vacuum. So after you think you’ve paid the out the door price, you well be charged guaranteed between an extra $42 to $500 a few days later. STAY AWAY, NO JOKE!

ABSOLUTE SCAMMERS - BEWARE

ABSOLUTE SCAM !!! DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE

We booked initially through VIP Cars, everything seemed fine until we turned up at their offices which were off airport (not a problem). We were told that we had to pay an extra $75 per day for Insurance as our original price did not include Insurance. We argued with them for 30 minutes but the manager said we could not get the car unless we pain $975. I asked the manager to put this in writing but she refused. While at the offices two other American couples also had the same scam pulled on them. We decided to use Uber for the holiday which wasn't that expensive

Once I got back to the UK I made a complaint to VIP Cars and they investigated. To my astonishment APM Car Rental said the $75 per day was optional but I declined. They blatantly lied. Why would I go to pick up the car and then decline if there were no extra charges ?

Bottom line is that this company is a Scam company who rip holidaymakers off !!
Feel free to contact me and I will gladly send you the proof.

But please heed my advice ... DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE SCAMMERS

APM CAR RENTAL

APM CAR RENTAL
This car rental company really leaves a lot to be desired, and they don't respect the regulations established in the United States for car rentals. I bought an airline ticket with a car included through Despegar, and when I went to pick it up, oh surprise!
1. The vehicle wasn't the one Despegar said it was, as it said it was a Honda minivan, and they gave me a very old Corolla with 70,000 miles, a nauseating smell, and multiple scratches and other things.
2. They give you the vehicle, and you have to see the details yourself. They don't even pay attention to the details. I suggest making a video.
3. They charge you for everything to activate the toll collection system, which is activated from the first time. They should be charging you for the tolls used, but that's not the case. They charge you super expensive insurance and require you to return the vehicle clean.
4. When you return the vehicle, they don't check it and pretend everything is fine. Then, the charges arrive on your card without any explanation. You call to find out what happened to the charge, but they don't give you an answer.
5. The vehicles are private, not suitable for rental cars, as they are registered as personal vehicles. This information is very important, because if the police stop you, you'll be in for an unpleasant situation on your vacation. The vehicle isn't a rental, and you don't have the vehicle's papers with you. Unlike authorized rental cars, the rental document is valid. You can see this on the license plate; they don't have the rental sticker.
6. Finally, they don't value customer reviews because they are despotic and treat you as if you were stupid.

SCAM car rental place. Say goodbye to your money

This company is a TOTAL SCAM and they prey on foreign tourists. If you check their Google reviews, the 5-star ones are all written by AI and fake profiles. The real ones are all 1-star, and they all have one thing in common: people being charged lots of money from their securty deposits, way after the return date, with no plausible explanation.
That's what happend to me. They charged me $180 TWO WEEKS after I returned the car. Never explained. After I repeatedly contacted them and threatened them, they sent a report saying there was "a crack on the windshield" and never sent me any evidence. And I filmed the car, I know that is not true. I had to cancel my credit card because I was scared they would take more money away from me. And since I had left the country already, it just made everything harder to me. Anyway, just don't EVER rent from this place. They WILL take your money and disappear. They should honestly get shut down and the owner should be criminally charged, I'm not even playing.
