Basic gym but beware when cancelling
Basic gym but beware, the cancellation is a mess, they make it very hard to find & trick you into paying more based on contract clauses.

Great gym and it has all the basics of what I need.. keep in mind every gym has different owner and maybe equipment but I love the one in 77429.. cypress.. I come and go and at my own time.. no frills but just all I need
I requested a cancellation
I requested a cancellation, but it was not processed. I would like the charges to stop. I do not recommend it.
Review for Anytime Fitness Fruit Cove…
Review for Anytime Fitness Fruit Cove FL:
Good gym with decent variety of equipment. Extremely poor membership and management practices. I canceled my membership when I moved out of state in June 2024, turned in my key fob, and was assured that my account was closed. I received no further written or electronic communication from the gym.
In November 2024 I began getting calls from a collections company alleging an unpaid balance, again with no written communication. I have contacted Anytime Fitness to resolve and will update this review once I have written confirmation that the matter is resolved.
Anytime Fitness Bramhall
Anytime Fitness Bramhall was so badly maintained it was dangerous. I moved elsewhere when my membership expired; it closed 3 weeks later, as did their gym at Stockton Heath.
Really poor franchise, impossible to cancel memberships and don't care about customers. Avoid if possible.
There is no way to contact there…
There is no way to contact there financial services and they just start a payment procedure without any legal reason
Very unethical company
Very unethical company. They take advantage of the over 65 group. As soon as you walk in the door with a Silver Sneakers membership, they want your credit card, even though Silver Sneakers says there is no additional fee required. They demand a card or your checking account debit information and are relentless. If you are going to use this gym, open a whole separate credit card so you can cancel it when they get out of control. Their business practices are nothing shy of criminal. I will be spreading this word through my social media accounts as well.
Horrible customer service, great home gym
The home gym representative at Martin place is incredible and they clearly love their work and gym. No complaints there. The issue is with the head office. I got locked out of the gym on the basis of their access pass not working. Took their IT 3 days to respond with basic information. Took another 3 or so to respond. Finally the home gym manager offered to help so I finally accessed my gym. It has now been weeks since this was sorted and I just received an email apologising. No offer for compensation when I did nothing wrong. Asking me to speak to my home gym for compensation is ridiculous when it is not my fault, nor my responsibility. I did nothing wrong and yet am supposed to deal with their mess up.
HORRIBLE customer service and a complete waste of money!!
Anytime fitness is a complete rip off and waste of a gym membership. No matter what location you go to the equipment is very basic and minimum and there are no perks added on to a $24 a week membership. When I signed up for this gym I expressed my stress for money and they reassured me that I could pause my gym membership for up to 6 months and that if I wanted to cancel my gym membership I would only have to pay a $50 cancellation fee. Being told this, I signed a contract (my mistake). When I called my anytime fitness location in Woy Woy a few months back I stated I needed to pause my membership because my car broke down and I needed money for a replacement. The lady I spoke to made me feel horrible for having to pause and stated “you realise you can’t pause your membership for very long don’t you?” And she decided for me to only pause this for a month. When I called recently to ask to cancel my membership again because of financial stress and other priority bills, she laughed at me and stated there is no such thing as a $50 cancellation fee and I would owe them $430 (50% of what a year would cost) even though I expressed to her I am financially struggling and can barley afford rent at the moment. Again- completely know it’s my fault for taking someone’s word and signing a contract, however I feel lied to, used, and I feel like anytime is a gym that ONLY cares about money and not the actual client and their individual needs.
Great gyms all over the world
Great gyms all over the world. Always well equipped, spacious. The new AFLegacy App is a great support.
Moving States, Injury, and Cancellation—Anytime Fitness Fails to Deliver
I signed up for an Anytime Fitness membership in San Jose, California, under the assumption that I could cancel my contract if needed. The gym informed me that the membership required a 24-month commitment but assured me that I could cancel at any time for a $200 penalty. They also mentioned that Anytime Fitness has locations across the U.S., and if I moved to another state, I could cancel without penalty if I wasn’t satisfied with the service at the new location. This was confirmed by several points in the contract, which seemed reasonable, so I decided to give Anytime Fitness a try.
After about nine months, I moved to Ohio and transferred my membership to the Anytime Fitness location in Hudson. Unfortunately, my experience at the new gym was far from satisfactory. During my first meeting, the gym owner made inappropriate comments about my nationality (I am an immigrant) and discussed his political views, which made me uncomfortable. On top of that, the facilities in Hudson were not comparable to what I had in San Jose. I could have joined a much better gym nearby with a pool and fitness classes for half the price.
Due to an injury and dissatisfaction with the new location, I decided to cancel my membership. I made multiple calls to the gym owner, explaining my situation, and I followed up with an email requesting cancellation. The owner initially confirmed via email that he had canceled my contract renewal. However, after several attempts to reach him, he later claimed he didn’t know how to cancel my membership and continued to charge me monthly fees without addressing my cancellation request.
In frustration, I had to block my credit card to stop the charges, which resulted in a significant loss of credit limit. Despite this, the gym continued to contact me, demanding payment for a contract I had already tried to cancel. They eventually threatened to report my credit, claiming I owed $1,100.
I am now facing the possibility of legal action, as I am unable to get the gym to honor the terms of my contract, which clearly allowed me to cancel under circumstances like moving to a new state and being injured.
I would strongly advise anyone considering an Anytime Fitness membership to think twice. Based on my experience, they do not uphold the terms of their contracts, and canceling a membership—especially under legitimate circumstances—can be incredibly difficult and frustrating.
The billing and membership…
The billing and membership administration is borderline criminal. They do not respond and then surcharge you when you withhold payment. It is nearly impossible to cancel membership. Run away from these people. They fo a true disservice to their franchisees. Run.
Unfair fees
After becoming the victim of credit card fraud, my card was cancelled and I didn’t get a chance to update all direct debits before getting a text notice from Anytime Fitness Flagstone that I risked having collections chasing me up and charging me a late fee of $7.50
I phoned them and explained that I had spoken with Debit Success yesterday - I was unable to update my payment details online yesterday because that was the due date for the payment, subsequently I paid it today. The team member at Debit Success assured me that I would not have to pay any penalty fees under these circumstances. However, when I spoke to the team member at Anytime Fitness Flagstone, she spoke to her manager who informed me that this was not THEIR policy and the $7.50 fee is now due and asked me to pay now.
I paid the fee, but thought I would share this slightly heartless approach to business from Anytime Fitness Flagstone
DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD...
Company charged my card 3 times that is unauthorized. Don't trust them with your credit card information for sure. Very Very bad customer service.
Still trying to get these charges reversed after 3 weeks. What a joke.
Dishonest and misleading
Dishonest and misleading. Unexplained repeating charges after cancelling membership. Extremely hard to cancel membership. Heavily overpriced for a mid-range gym. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT sign up.
This company is FULL of deceptive…
This company is FULL of deceptive practices!!! They sent me this email saying my account is paid in full on October 2. But when I call the accounts department they say it is still active!!! They have LIED since the beginning and they entrap you into their membership. They only way you can get out of it is to become permanently injured in other words they want you to keep coming back until you can't function any longer OR you have to DIE!!! Totally counter intuitive of what a health club should want for you!!! They care more about making money for their trainers than the people they are training!!! I have found a DR who will sign my note but REALLY???? They treat you like a child. You have to get a DR's note to get out of the gym membership!!!! Absurd!! If you injure me I know better than any doctor whether I can continue that exercise or not. I am an athlete!!! But I know my limits! Who are they to dictate to me what is good for me or not??? Their policy is moot when it comes to their exercises injuring you. I DO NOT want to even exercise around these people. I have seen 100's of posts regarding poor equipment as well and since their focus is on keeping their trainers well paid clearly they do not have a focus on the rest of the gym either.
Worst place a never been in my life
Worst place a never been in my life
I went here and suppose to be paid them every 2 weeks but got sick wasn’t able to work out I call them multiple time no one pick send multiple email no respond , leave voice messages no respond I decided to go to the location I choose with them nothing . Have a chance that someone text a make an appointment and I signed the cancellation . Trust me guys they still taking money to my account.
Imagine from last week of August taking over $100 still now guys is a lot Stay away from them big scammmm
Not the same standards
Not the same standards across all locations. Been to multiple locations in the UK and Asia that were great. But my local Canadian one is disgusting so I had to quit.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE. BIGGGG SCAMMMMM . I wanted to express my disappointment with Anytime Fitness regarding unexpected maintenance fees. During my 12-month contract, I’ve already been PAID two maintenance fees, AND GOT CHARGED FOR THE THIRD ONE which seems excessive and unfair.
Initially, I was informed that my membership would be straightforward, but these additional charges were never clearly communicated. After my account was frozen for three months WHICH RESULTED MY MEMBERSHIP DATE GOT EXTENDED FROM AUGUST TO NOVEMBER AND GOT CHARGED CEF FEES AGAIN IN OCTOBER, I expected my membership to be protected from extra fees, yet I still received charges that I wasn’t prepared for.
When I reached out to customer service for clarification, I found the responses lacking and unhelpful. This has really affected my experience with the gym, as transparency is crucial in building trust with members.
While I enjoy the facilities and the overall environment, the repeated unexpected charges have left me reconsidering my membership. I hope Anytime Fitness can improve their communication about fees in the future to avoid frustrating experiences for other members.
