Wonderful experience of a bike, very different to others! Although ist is not the best engine and bike itself, it is a new, modern and nice way for a daily ride through the city. Excellent design.
Delivery without problems.

Really enjoyed test riding the new Angell/S Bike and received a number of compliments from fellow cyclists who appeared suitably impressed with the rear navigating and break signals. My preferred level of assistance for commuting was ‘Fly Dry,’ which gets you from A to B comfortably, without breaking a sweat!. With its removable battery and ultra-light frame, Angell is the perfect city bike that offers riders the best of both worlds!

I had an amazing experience when testing Angell for the first time! The bike is not only beautiful but it is also light and easy to drive. I felt safe while riding it. The ambassador who assisted me was very kind, friendly and patient with me when I was trying to figure out all the fun features! I love this bike, definitely my favorite electric bike.

what a fantastic bike! innovative in design and functionality. i suggest introducing a rear view camera in next version. this is the kind of crazy ideas that are behind the concept.

Using my Angell e-bike since June for commuting and enjoy every single ride. The strong and instant support gets me easily around whilst being an eye catcher and feeling safe due to the tracking device putting off potential robbers!

C'est une disasteur ... n'achette pas !!

So I tried and I tried to get some basic marketing and images for my remote/online ordering for the bike. I tried to get real life pictures of the cockpit and the android display and features. Nothing / Rien !

I have had endless automated emails from their servicedesk, and arrogant referrals back to the poor image of a cockpit handlebar display, that was mocked up by a graphic designer.

Having now heard from the gentleman who left a review further down this list, I will not be buying 2 bikes that I had intended as there are too many issues and being an international company, ie France is France, Germany Germany, etc ... they have a long way to go to get their product properly marketing.

Perhaps the communications company Purple in the UK could get through to their client that they need to try to show all the features not slideware ...

+++Update after a response from Angell+++
Angell tried to remove my review and referred my review to Trustpilot, and wanted a lot more detail from me. As you can see from their response, the 5 direct emails and contact with their helpdesk failed to provide the alluded to images and responses, and despite the response below which took 4 months to come through, they still won't send me an image, so my justification of buying from their competitor was well founded ... Purple need to do a much better job in the UK with their client .... awful.

This is my honest review of the e-bike by the French company Angell eBike.

I hunted for almost 2 years for the perfect e-bike for myself and saved up a lot of money to pay for this over €2600+ Angell ebike.

Let's get into the Angell eBike Review.

Look & Feel
The bike has a slick modern and incredibly impressive appearance. I have had many people stop and ask me where it is from, and what it is like to ride.

The Control Screen
The Angell ebike is fitted with an android cockpit display screen which is packed with features, including an alarm that goes off if someone tries to steal it. It is a little buggy and it has issues locating the bike sometimes. Also, there is a lot of the user experience and user interface that is still in French and has not been translated into English.

The Indicators
The bike is equipped with two very cool indicators that are on either side of the handlebars that flash when you press the handy rubberized buttons on the left handlebar. These also control two lights at the back of the futuristic battery back. Look out for the rubberized button covers falling off. If these fall off the buttons are rendered totally useless. My button covers fell off while I was riding through the city. I was able to stop and recover them before they were lost on the street. I had to super glue them back on. Not great for a bike I have only had a few months and hardly had a chance to ride yet due to lockdown.

Break Lights
The bike is also equipped with very cool brake lights which flash when you pull your breaks. They are built into the battery back that sits behind the seat. This is one of the most attractive features of the Angell eBike.

The Battery
The battery is a futuristic shape and can be added and removed from the bike to charge. It can be a bit of a challenge to get it on to the bike, and I have had issues with the battery disconnecting when you go over bumps or hit potholes. I also ordered two batteries and more than five months later I still do not have the second battery. It was promised at the end of this month Feb 21, but still nothing. 5 months late.

The Seat
Incredibly uncomfortable and hard. Not good at all. You can however order a different seat from their eshop. The bike has no suspension at all, so if you hit bumps or potholes you will feel all of it.

The Power Assist
The bike is equipped with a few different power-assist modes. Eco, Dry and Fast. In the most basic way each one either uses more or less power. Eco being the slowest and Fast being the... you guessed it, fastest! lol The power is smooth and going up hills is super easy. It feels almost too easy sometimes so I have switched back to ride-free mode, where there is no power assist. This has to be done by pressing the rubberized buttons on the right handlebar.
The bike switches between modes fairly seamlessly.

The Accessories
The bike has wing mirrors, that attach to the handlebars. A bell and a small extra light as well as some reflectors for the peddles. None of which came with any instructions and all of these are clearly not made for the Angell bike but just produced in China as standard bike add-ons. They are fairly cheap in their manufacture and have a noticeable plastic build. I can not imagine they will last very long.

The Front Basket
This arrived and no matter what we did we could not get it to fit onto the bike. The screws included in the pack were made from a very soft alloy, so when you tried to use the allen key, it totally shredded the screw and made it impossible to attach the basket. I will be asking for a full refund of this.

The back bag rack
The company was unable to deliver the back bag rack, and after many months told us that it was not coming and would take too long to redesign. So we were issued a refund.

The Mud Guards
5 months later and we do not have our mudguards still. I have had no sign of them, not have I had any communications from the company about them.

Overall impressions
The bike has a really lovely body, and the concept is amazing. But the Angell e-bike is really let down but some poorly finished features and details. Considering the bike is built in France, I am incredibly surprised by this lack of attention to detail. The accessories are incredibly poor in their quality, and some of the finer details of the bike are not the standard I would expect from a bike of this value.

The bike feels like the body was designed by a talented designer, but the rest of the accessories and items that come with the back are very much an after-thought.

For a bike that cost me over €2,690.00 I am very disappointed to say that I do regret buying it and not a Vanmoof.

I think I was captivated by the idea of a built-in tech and big bright brake lights, indicators, and all the other features.

The customer service has been polite and cordial, and I want to say that covid would have slowed production down, this may explain some of the delays.

Bike purchased in pre-order.

After a really long delay, due to COVID. I finally received my bike.

And total happiness. It is a wonder. Some software bugs have been encountered. Of which some really painful.

But regular updates have solved almost all of them.

The battery has a shorter autonomy than that announced, but the driving sensations are crazy.

I have tried many other brands that I won't mention here, but the feel on the handlebars is incredible.

Small note about customer service. Very good and very pleasant. Although a bit long sometimes to answer.

I recommend without hesitation
