A poor quality synthetic jumper arrived instead of a cashmere jumper - it crackles when you take it off it is so synthetic.
I have emailed multiple times for a refund - no response. This company is a sham.

I ordered a 'merino wool' coat for my husband's Christmas present but it didn't arrive for weeks. I thought Ancien was a store in London but it turns out that it is yet another scam company based in China. They even have a Chamber of Commerce number.
The coat eventually arrived this month. Polyester and absolutely atrocious quality. I emailed them and they responded eventually, saying that their policy was only to accept returns if the goods are faulty. I told them that the coat was not as described and demanded my money back. They haven't responded.
I forgot to check them out on here, I was so excited to see a so called London based store selling merino wool coats on sale. I should have known that it was too good to be true.
I purchased using Klarna and they have supposedly contacted Ancien but still haven't had a response either. My payments are on hold for now.

Same story I’m afraid, ordered 3 items two have turned up incredibly poor quality no labels have requested a returns label(from reading these reviews that’s never going to happen)one item still in pending from the 30/12/24. Not responding to any correspondence, not sure there is a lot I can do but just warn others to avoid this so called company at all costs and keep your money, and a lesson learned I guess but will still pursue.

Echo other reviews, this company are dishonest and their advertments are untrue.

Ordered a 'cashmere' sweater as a Xmas present 8 December. arrived 11 January. Despite constantly contacting Ancien they blamed the Xmas delivery rush and directed me to the courier for information despite the fact that they bear culpability. The sweater, unlabelled, is cheaply made and polyester, not cashmere. It clearly came from China. Not sure how Trading Standards allow this blatant misrepresentation. I made the elementary error of not checking reviews for this retailer. Had I done so, I would NEVER have made a purchase. Learn from my mistakes. DO NOT BUY FROM ANCIEN!!

I sent for a winter coat costing £49
It was supposed to be wool and Ancien state on their website 'British Family Business since 2020' Giving the impression this is a British site.
However, the coat took almost two weeks to arrive from China.
The Coat has no labels other than a side label that states 'Polyster and Cotton' So NOT made of wool
The coat is lined, but the lining is baggy and the entire coat looks cheap and doesn't look anywhere near as nice as the illustration on the site.
The belt for the coat is too small, so the coat doesn't hang well.
Very disappointing transaction.
I can’t wear the coat.

Similar ordered a coat. No reply to my e mails on returning it.No way its the size it was meant to be.Now it looks as if they manufacture cheaply abroad, charge decent prices and either no reply to returns.Or make it very expensive to do so.Therefore people give up on returning.Would seem a very sly M.O & yes conning people

items arrived 3 weeks late. Ordered a cashmere jumper. A jumper was delivered which was polyester & made in China ! Emailed a number of times to return & no reply to any contacts. Would not touch this company with a barge pole
