Thinking of using A Mobility Shop, Think again…
If you are thinking of using A Mobility Shop for a bathroom remodel, think again.
You will be much better off using a provider with experienced tradesmen, rather than the inexperienced workers used by A Mobility.
We unfortunately chose them for a bathroom remodel that ended up a disaster. See the picture below of the mess.
There are 4 water connections in the bathroom, cold water for the toiled, hot and cold water for the sink and cold water for the instant shower. Of the 4 connections, 2 were not done correctly and therefore leaked. The inexperienced workman, who was left to do the job on his own, had not checked his work and neither had Gary the main contact for the job.
The hot water connection at the sink leaked under the new non slip floor. Spreading out and soaking the landing carpet. That was the least of the problems.
The cold water connection to the shower, leaked significantly more. The water had been running down the inside of the wall from the attic, down to the kitchen roof. This then soaked the plaster board on the kitchen ceiling and two of the walls.
The resulting mess caused by the water and pulling down the ceiling to release the trapped water took days to clear up. The repair and painting of the roof and walls then took weeks to complete, mainly because they were off doing other jobs. We had to badger them to come out and apply a second coat of paint to finish the job properly.
During the repairs we talked with Gary about some compensation for the mess and inconvenience resulting from the damage and repairs to the kitchen due to the poor workmanship. He was supposed to discuss with the office and get back to us. We never heard back from him, even after numerous attempts to contact him.
We finally heard back, when we contacted the office. Their response,
They repaired the problem and they were not required to provide any compensation for the mess and inconvenience.
They even said they had gone above and beyond by painting the other two walls in the kitchen, as if leaving the other walls unpainted and a different colour, would ever be acceptable to a professional provider.
Go somewhere else or risk this mess.
