Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 478 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers express significant dissatisfaction with the service, particularly regarding the constant and lengthy advertisements that interrupt content, even for paying subscribers. People feel that the value of their subscription has diminished, as much of the desirable content now requires additional payment or a separate subscription to other services. The overall sentiment is that the service has become too expensive for what it offers, especially with the added cost to remove ads, leading many to consider canceling their subscriptions. Some people also felt that the quality and selection of available content have declined, with many finding little they want to watch or encountering issues with series being cut short. Conversely, a small portion of people mentioned that the service used to be a beneficial addition to their Amazon membership and that some content is still good when it plays without interruption.

This service has become an issue

This service has become an issue. Non stop buffering and loading. Not only at my house but at my friends house so it’s not the internet it’s prime. Once you upgrade though it will stop glitching. This is a ploy to make you spend more money.

Discrimination Against Low Income Watchers

Trying to watch a series is super annoying when not buying their ad-free package. They show 3 minutes of the show, then 2 minutes of ads. We all need to just start boycotting these streaming services. They are price gouging everyone who doesnt pay for ad free. Very discriminating against the lower income population. Shame on Amazon and all the others who do the same.

Lack of good movies/series available

I subscribed after a long hiatus, only to find that theres a lack of new and good movies, and series, available. Its really poor. Some movies, like the Shazam movie, has restricted rights, probably because distributors dont like South africa a lot... Im not impressed at all.

Content is now unwatchable due to a ridiculous amount of adverts- we had three ad breaks in the first 15 minutes of the young Sherlock show.
I won’t watch any more content on Prime it has been completely ruined.

Terrible scam of a company. Requires a subscription then asks you to rent or buy movies that are 20 years old. Canceling my account and never looking back

Putting greed over customer experience

Amazon's decision to insert advertisements into videos for which we already pay continues to anger me as much now as when they were introduced. Actually, perhaps more so as the adverts are both longer and more frequent. The whole world knows Jeff Bezos cares only about wealth and not at all about his employees, but it's clear that whoever is running Prime Video holds customers in similar contempt.

Adverts have got ridiculous

Adverts have got ridiculous. Literally every 10-15 minutes. Theres a reason people stopped watching live TV and opted for streaming content. Now you are monopolising that. Just sheer corporate greed and guess what. Its not a matter of time until another platform offers what you offer without the added subscription to remove adverts and when that happens watch your viewer base drop. Same for other content publishers..

Absolutely rubbish

Absolutely rubbish. Find it all quite complicated for this ai intelligent era.
The app doesn't give you the option to 'pay per view' in the app!! Instead you have to phaff about trying to find what you want on the Amazon webpage before being able to watch it in the app! So annoying! Complete waste of time.
Yet again, you're paying for a service which has now decided to charge you even further to watch an event. The cost of watching all theses events across Sky, Dazn, BT/EE/HBO, Amazon Prime etc etc is disgusting. I remember when Sky first came out. You paid the subscription and that was it. It then went on to change you extra for the services you thought you'd already subscribed to, like PPV Boxing. Disgusting!
Amazon now wants to charge you £14.99 to watch a mediocre fight, Fundora v Thurman (and it is just the one fight that could be over in 30 seconds). They also charge you nearly £3'ish to watch football matches, even if you are already paying to be an Amazon Prime member.
I actually think the world needs to stop paying for these things! They just keep charging more & more.
