Never Trust Again

I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding the handling of my recent order and delivery by Amazon and DHL.

On June 10, I ordered magnetic name badges that were required for an important trade fair event for our company. The Amazon product page clearly stated a delivery date of June 12.

Because these badges were business-critical, I contacted Amazon Customer Service on June 11 to verify whether the June 12 delivery commitment was realistic. The representative checked the shipment and explicitly confirmed that the order would be delivered on June 12.

When the package did not go out for delivery on June 12, I contacted Amazon again. I explained that the badges were required for a trade fair and that I needed to know immediately if the delivery would not happen so I could find an alternative supplier.

I was then informed that DHL had postponed the delivery and that the package would arrive on Friday. It did not.

I contacted Amazon again and was told the package would be delivered on Monday.

Because I no longer trusted the information being provided, I contacted Amazon once again on Monday morning. During that conversation, I was informed that the package had reportedly been damaged and would be returned. I specifically requested that the package still be delivered if possible, because even a damaged package would have been more useful than no package at all.

At that point, I had already started driving around searching for replacement name badges at local stores because the event was approaching rapidly.

Shortly afterward, I received an email indicating that the package had been loaded onto a delivery vehicle. I immediately contacted Amazon again and asked whether the package would actually be delivered. Once again, I was assured that it would arrive that day.

Based on that assurance, I remained at our office until 20:00 waiting for the shipment.

The package never arrived.

Later, DHL updated the tracking information again and postponed the delivery for yet another day.

The trade fair starts tomorrow. The entire purpose of the order has now been lost.

What is most frustrating is not the delayed package itself, but the repeated misinformation. I proactively contacted customer service multiple times, explained the urgency, and asked for honest information so I could make alternative arrangements. Instead, I received a series of delivery promises that were repeatedly broken.

As a result:

Valuable business preparation time was lost.
I spent hours contacting customer support.
I spent additional time searching for replacement products locally.
I remained at the office unnecessarily waiting for a delivery that never arrived.
Our company was left without the materials needed for an important trade fair.

The product itself costs only around €20.

The issue is not the value of the item. The issue is the complete lack of reliability, accountability, and effective communication shown by both Amazon and DHL throughout this process.

Product-Swap Fraud Not Detected by Amazon

After more than 20 years as an Amazon customer, this has been one of the most disappointing experiences I have had.
I originally ordered an expensive Dell WD25TB5 docking station from Amazon Warehouse Deals. Instead of receiving the product, I watched the estimated delivery date change almost daily for more than two weeks, always showing further delays.
When I finally contacted customer service, I was informed that the product had apparently been sold to another customer. I was offered a refund, but no proactive communication had been sent to me and no alternative solution was proposed. I requested that Amazon provide a comparable device at the same price, as the issue resulted from Amazon selling the item to two customers.
Another 1.5 weeks later, I was eventually contacted by a representative from Amazon's fulfilment centre (Yvette), who apologised for the situation and advised me to place a new order through Amazon Warehouse Deals. I was assured that the order would be monitored and that I would receive the correct product.
Unfortunately, the second order created an even bigger problem.
The product was sold and packaged as a Dell WD25TB5. The box, documentation and labels all referred to that model. However, after carefully checking the device itself and verifying it directly with Dell, it turned out that the docking station inside the box was actually a much older and cheaper Dell WD19DCS.
The difference is not obvious. Externally the devices look very similar, and only a small model number on the underside reveals the actual product. Had I not checked carefully, I would never have noticed.
This strongly suggests that a previous customer may have returned a different device (fraud) and that the return was accepted and resold without the mismatch being detected.
What disappointed me most was not the mistake itself, but the way the case was handled afterwards.
Instead of having the issue investigated by the same fulfilment-centre specialist (Yvette), who had promised to personally follow up on the matter and respond to further communications, I was repeatedly transferred between different customer-service representatives. Even when I specifically referred to that promise and requested contact with the fulfilment centre, this was not arranged.
The only solution offered was a return label and a refund. This means the underlying issue was never investigated or explained. My concern is that, without proper investigation, the same incorrectly fraud / returned product could simply end up being resold again to another customer.
To make matters worse, the last representative incorrectly stated that I had purchased the device from a third-party seller and that Amazon therefore could not do more than offer a refund. This was incorrect. The product had been purchased through Amazon Warehouse Deals, and it was Amazon's own fulfilment-centre representative who had advised me to place the replacement order.
As a result, I spent almost six weeks dealing with delivery delays, incorrect processes, repeated customer-service contacts and a product that was not the product advertised. In the end, I received neither the originally ordered device nor a satisfactory explanation of what happened.
I have now decided to return the item and purchase elsewhere.
Mistakes can happen. What customers expect from a company the size of Amazon is ownership, investigation and consistent follow-up when those mistakes occur.
Unfortunately, that did not happen in this case.
A very disappointing experience.

In Europe one of the worst websites to buy

In Europe one of the worst and customer unfriendly websites out there. If something goes wrong it's impossible to file a report somewhere, product I bought isn't showing up in my account. Never ordering again, other retailers are better

One order lost in another country, other one postponed

One order was sent to the wrong country, naturally I went and bought the product from another website that delivered a lot faster and requested refund which has been processed.
Another order postponed,I sure wonder if the postponed order will become like the one in amazon.de that turned out lost,
I am starting to feel like local and smaller online shops are more trustworthy with their delivery promises as they do fullfil them unlike such big companies like amazon

Very good

All in all just great. I’ve ordered many times here. Good prices and lot’s of stuff available. Only once my package was not delivered and they promptly send it again. It’s just great you can order at 10pm and still get it the next day. Also you get good order tracking information.

Dragonfly is destroying my Amazon Prime experience

I have been a loyal Amazon Prime member for years and have always had positive experiences — until now. Amazon has chosen to use Dragonfly as a transporter, and it has completely destroyed my trust. The delivery service by Dragonfly is absolutely terrible. My packages are mishandled, deliveries are missed, and the service is the worst I have ever encountered. Why is Amazon allowing Dragonfly to drag down every single positive experience I have built up as a Prime member? All the goodwill Amazon has earned over the years is being undone by this one terrible transporter. I urge Amazon to reconsider their partnership with Dragonfly immediately, because as long as they are used, I cannot in good conscience recommend Amazon to anyone.

Amazon.nl holding refund hostage due to their own "System Error"

I returned a router (Order 171-6161001-4867504) on Dec 30, 2024. It was confirmed delivered to Amazon’s return center on Jan 7, 2025. It has been over 3 weeks since receipt, and Amazon is refusing to issue my refund.

Customer service admitted there is a "system error" on their end, yet they are demanding that I (the customer) fill out a manual "incident report" to fix their internal technical failure. This is unacceptable. I have fulfilled my legal obligations under EU law. Amazon has the item, but they are keeping my money.

I have already reported this to the ACM (ConsuWijzer) and will continue to pursue legal action. If you use iDEAL to pay on Amazon.nl, be warned: if their system breaks, they will make it YOUR problem.

Give me my money back immediately.

They're a bunch of thieves and…

They're a bunch of thieves and incompetents! Find my order 407-2394912-4437930! Bunch of lazybones! The delivery date has been changing for 14 months and it's nowhere to be found because I ordered it in 2024. Their customer service is a disgrace! 15 emails sent and no response. They just stole 150 euros from me! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

My partner and I received the wrong…

My partner and I received the wrong part from an Amazon seller. We didn’t want a gift card — we simply wanted a refund. The seller sent a prepaid return label, but our vehicle is currently disassembled, so we cannot physically leave to drop anything off. My partner is also a senior citizen on social security disability!

Amazon customer service reached out to the seller asking them to arrange a UPS pickup, which is standard when a customer can’t travel. The seller refused.

Then Amazon’s Executive Relations emailed us saying we should pay out of pocket for the UPS pickup and they would reimburse us later. We don’t have the money to front that cost, and we shouldn’t have to pay anything for a mistake that wasn’t ours.

This morning, customer service told us we could keep the part and they would issue a refund within 3–5 business days. A few minutes ago, another rep confirmed the same thing and said the seller would respond within 48 hours.

We have screenshots of every conversation. The amount of back‑and‑forth, contradictions, and refusal to follow their own policies has been unbelievable. No customer should be bounced around like this or asked to pay money they don’t have just to fix a seller’s error.

Amazon needs to do better.

Amazon's own delivery getting worse and worse

While you see other parcel delivery improving with tracking, and providing time-slots, Amazon own service gets worse and worse. A parcel, randomly showing up at a random time in the evening, just does not work any more. PostNL and everyone else is ahead, what also makes me switch back to Bol.com or even Temu because I am happy to wait a bit longer for just a better delivery experience.
On their own service, there is no interface at all, no information at all - they just expect you to be home all the time and won't even drop it at a neighbour, what is somehow usual in the Netherlands.

I paid for a new product, but received a used product

I ordered a new product. I also had two options to order warehouse products (returned products) with a discount. I chose a new product, but I received a package that was already opened and closed again with tape. The box was also damaged. So obviously I received a used/returned product but paid for a new product. Bad customer service!

I'm extremely disappointed with my delivery

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent Amazon delivery experience here in the Netherlands. I ordered a book that was supposed to arrive today, but instead received the completely wrong item.
Around 7pm, I heard a delivery van pull up. The driver left a package at my front door without ringing the doorbell or knocking - just dropped it and left. Minutes later, I received an email confirming delivery. When I checked the package, it had the wrong name on it and contained a completely different product from what I ordered. The only thing correct was the address.
I immediately contacted Amazon customer support hoping for a solution. Instead of helping, they told me I have to return the incorrect package myself - meaning I now have to go out of my way to return an item that was delivered by mistake. They won't even arrange a pickup for their own error, so now I have the hassle of finding somewhere to return it.
To make matters worse, customer support could barely tell me anything about where my actual order is or when I might receive it. No real answers, no apology, just more inconvenience pushed onto me as the customer.
This is completely unacceptable. Wrong item, wrong name, no communication from the driver, and then the customer has to fix Amazon's mistake. I expected much better service.

Confusing return policy

Compared to other companies, Amazon user a extremely complicated, confusing and puzzl8ng return policy and procedure. At 1st, it makes you believe that return is free, ( in fact it costs € 12,), they make you wait for return and after many attempts and emails promising you the label, you get barcode that doesn't work. Even at the post office they were buffeled by it.
