Terrible aftercar. Paperwork missing despite good install
The initial installation and panels were done quite quick and the system itself has been working well. The exception was a lack of option for bird netting and we now have several pigeons nesting beneath the panels.
When it comes to paperwork or aftercare they did not provide any of the documentation with the system (no MCS certificate which is needed for your energy provider). They also did not inform the DNO which I believe is a legal requirement. I have not has any response from them since October 2023 and that was to tell me the agent I had previously been in discussion with had left the company.
Their website has been suspended. Their phoneline has been disconnected. I think it quite likely they have gone bust.

No wonder we get no reply. What happens next?

stay away from this company, they installed our system in my house about 2 years ago, and it was nightmare from day one of installation one mess up after another mess up, i had at least 6 diffident installers come in before the job was "so called" done.
now had a different company come over to resolve some burning electric smells coming from the eastron, which if we where away would of caused a fire,
the company that came to fix it A.E.S. terrible work where shocked at the poor workmanship. im surprised that these frauds still have a company.

Quick installation in 2022 and they want their money straight away but the after care is none existent. Once you've paid forget about your warranty. They don't answer their telephones or emails or on line web forms. My batteries have stopped charging and they don't want to know. I've complained to HIES.

My rating is for aftercare. The initial design/supply/ installation in 2022 was quite good and the system worked fine and worth a rating of 5 . The initial support was fine but, from early 2023, they don't answer the phone or or respond to messages or emails. Presently I I have advised that my panels are not charging the batteries and they will not respond.

Took 3 months and several calls a week to get reconnected after a stone. I have emailed several times and raised a complaint. I am waiting on a refund on a panel which blew off my roof and my certificates for my energy company. This has been going on for two years. I get no replies to my email and no answer on the phone.

Much, much better now that the old management have gone.
So we had panels and inverter / battery installed 2+ years ago. The install was fine and the panels worked well - BUT the after care then including getting the certificate was an absolute nightmare.
Somewhat hesitantly I got back in touch in October 2023 to add another battery - Darryl responded almost immediately and after giving me all the info I needed about the new battery, he also responded to my questions about my previous experience. He was very frank and honest about the previous problems and what he had done to start to put things right.
Since then, the extra batty has been installed and the after care has been good.
If I had rated the company 2 years ago - would have been a poor rating because of the lack of response / after care.. but he seems to have made good inroads into that - fair play Darryl.
Absolutely disgraceful
Absolutely disgraceful, I spent £14,000 having solar panels fitted on a house that is only seven years old. The flashings they have used appear to have deformed and now the roof is leaking.

Unfortunately we have joined the long line of people who have an incomplete system from AES. Installed in May 2023 we have been ignored by the team ever since. All they need to do is file our system and send us the paperwork and a dongle so we can measure the system. Alas, no responses despite multiple requests. I hate leaving negative reviews, but this is simple stuff to avoid by being professional and clearing the backlog of issues.
***Update. AES has nowmade contact, so hopefully we will have a completion and can give a better review
Lack Integrity and transparency.
Many things went wrong with the services provided by Alternative Energy Services for solar panels/ inverter/ battery supply and installation.
They are not transparent, lack good customer service, refused to engage after installation (refused to respond to phone calls and emails) amongst other things and the most outstanding one was their provision of 2 years Hies insurance cover in place of 10 years agreed in contract with them.
They did not respond to mediation and Ombudsman's intervention.
I will advise anyone to avoid this company.

Good installation but non existent after sales
We had our install back in May this year - it went well - it works well. However, I contacted them in October of this year to ask for the required information to commission the system and get the feed in tariff, this then started the weeks of utterly poor customer service. Ignored emails, unanswered phone calls.
All we need is the required information to pass on to our electricity provider and commissioning certificate.
I challenge you guys to prove all these 1star after sales ratings wrong, if you get this resolved then I’ll re-rate you as the installation was a dream, but after sales is utterly unacceptable.
Such a shame, as it started so well.
Where's my paperwork?
I had solar panels, inverter and batteries fitted in April 2022.
I've emailed and phoned many times about the paperwork for my energy supplier to receive payment for my excess electricity --- nothing despite promises.
I've emailed again last week --- nothing.
I've phoned several times today --- answer phone message promising a phone back --- nothing.
Has this company folded?
What a shame as the panels are producing quite a lot of power.

Mixed review - check about follow up services
Initially had a mixed experience with this company. The installation was OK but delayed several times. However we then had to wait for four months and a Trustpilot review before the follow up actions were completed and phone calls and messages went unanswered for several months. That has now been rectified and the system is working well and saving us money but definitely ask about their post installation service before making a commitment.

Shocking after sales - formal complaint
We had our install back in October last year - it went well - it works well. However, when our first electricity bill came, there was no sign of any feedback tariff. I contacted them in April of this year to ask for the required information - this started the weeks and months of utterly poor customer service.
Ignored emails, unanswered phone calls, false promises etc - and even since lodging a formal complaint (according to their own policy). No response from the complaint, even through it states that it would be acknowledged within 3 days.
All we need is the required information to pass on to our electricity provider - as it is, we are now looking into complaining to the FCA and looking into legal advice to resolve the issue.
Such a shame, as it started so well.

battery installation and unacceptable aftercare
Battery installation to existing solar panels and monitoring and annual service of both for 15 years.
No answer to my queries after work was complete. To date these queries have not been answered for 15 months. Annual inspection has not taken place and not arranged for 8 months. Both despite numerous chasing and speaking with both Directors. Now nobody answers the phone as well as not responding to emails.

Appalling customer services
Solar and battery fitted. Excellent service from installation team. Then the problems started. Paid promptly and expected MCS and DNO approval to be forwarded to me. Waited several, heard nothing, contacted them and eventually was told DNO requested £360 to carry out Witness test, paid this and........nothing. Over many months emailed and phoned Nathan and Jamie.........nothing. Contacted SSEN to confirm £360 had been paid to them, all OK. SSEN contacted AES and eventually a date for test confirmed. Day before SSEN rang me to say AES had not replied to their request for time of test and contact details of engineer so would have to cancel. AES never contacted me in any form. I had to request they started again. Their customer service has been appalling. Have contacted them numerous occasions, their attitude appears to be we've been paid so we don't care about you now. Jamie,one of the directors, said recently he would resolve the problem but no nothing happened. This has been going on for 15 months. Come on AES where are your morals!

Alternative Energy Services Limited were a dream compared to the nightmare with another supplier. My quote arranged over the weekend and installation was booked within 3 weeks. The installation on the roof and inside was very tidy. Matt and Joe, the installers were professional, explained everything clearly and cleared up afterwards. ey also helped connect up an app to remotely monitor the power options and status. From Scott the rep to Nathan in the office, everything was explained with progress updates. Nathan has followed-up arranging certificates and the notification to the National Grid. Compared to the cowboys quoting 16 weeks to get permission to install panels then went bust, this was a dream!
