STAY AWAY!!!! I paid €500 for a full annual car insurance policy with Allianz Direct Spain, completed entirely online.
From the very beginning, the process was chaotic and unprofessional.
There was a minor typo in my license plate during registration, which I noticed immediately and tried to correct.
For over six weeks, I received no response. Almost 50 Emails and serval phone calls.
I had to threaten legal action and report them to consumer protection authorities to get any sort of reply.
Then came the real nightmare:
I was suddenly contacted and accused of having caused a car accident — under the wrong license plate, the one Allianz never corrected.
They even threatened to charge me for the accident if I didn’t respond immediately.
At that time, I was on holiday, and the car had been parked in a garage for two weeks.
After more than six weeks, I finally got hold of someone by phone —
The agent apologized for Allianz's complete incompetence about the thing with the car accident and told me that they had canceled my insurance on August 8th , 2025…
Because apparently my car model (Volvo C70) “cannot be insured” through Allianz.
Are you serious?!
They took €500, never corrected their own error, tried to blame me for an accident I clearly had nothing to do with,
and now I’m left chasing a refund for a policy they canceled without proper notice.
Absolute disgrace. Useless customer service. No accountability. No communication.
Allianz Direct Spain is by far the worst insurance experience I’ve ever had.
❌ I would never recommend them to anyone.
Stay away – you’ll regret it.
