This has been one of the mAbsolutely Unacceptable – Booking Confirmed but Not Honoredost…

This has been one of the most frustrating and unprofessional booking experiences I have ever had.

I reserved and received confirmation for a standard private room — not a shared room. With less than 24 hours before my stay, I contacted the hostel directly and was told they do not have any single rooms available. In other words, the room I paid for and received confirmation for simply does not exist.

Confirming a reservation and then failing to honor the room type is not a minor inconvenience — it is a serious failure of service and a breach of trust. A shared room is not an alternative; it is a downgrade. If I had wanted a shared room, I would have booked one.

What makes the situation even worse is the complete lack of accountability. I requested three separate times to be contacted by the area manager to understand what actions were being taken and to receive a clear solution. No call. No transparency. No responsibility.

Leaving a customer without a guaranteed room the day before arrival, while providing no concrete solution and no direct communication, is simply unacceptable. This level of disorganization and disregard for customers is alarming.

Travelers rely on booking confirmations. If a confirmation cannot be trusted, then what is the value of using this service at all?

I strongly advise others to think twice before booking. Reliability and professionalism were completely absent in this case.

Price was great but when I went to the app for the hotel to add my confirmation the information given wasn’t valid. I attempted to contact the hotel they confirmed that I had a booking however because I had no other information they could verify, I am unable to add my stay in the app. This was my first time using this site and probably my last. I requested information from site however got no information only a survey request for how they did.

Great Service

I queried regarding a hotel booking in Dubai for cancellation due to the conflict, received a prompt response within a few hours with a full refund. Great customer service, thank you Algotels.

Algotel's Customer Support is on Life Support, and just barely.

The process of trying to modify a reservation was truly pathetic and painful. The "fully refundable" cancellation policy should not have taken 12 days.
It took 3 different ticket numbers to modify or cancel my booking.
I was told that my issue was "under review" and that someone would get back to me soon. No one ever made a call to me, and I had to ask Trivago to help. I don't know why Trivago uses them. I didn't know of Algotel's extremely poor reputation till too late.
I wanted to cancel and be refunded for one night of a two-night's stay. When I got so frustrated that I decided that I wanted to delete the whole booking, I was given a new ticket number and was told that the issue would then go to their "Escalation Team.
Thankfully, I have been told that a refund will be made to my credit card, and I am down to the 1 night I asked for initially. No one treated me rudely or was nasty. I was not being helped.

trivago and Algotels are scams

I booked a Hilton owned Hotel in Philadelphia thru Trivago and then got a confirmation from this company Algotels .. the day before check-in i got an email saying the res. was canceled ..No info of who or what canceled the res .so i tried calling Algotels and got a recording the wait time was 120 min and i tried and tried to Email them or Trivago with no response so i called the Hilton hotel and was told there never was a Reservation using the number Algotels sent me so i had to book directly with Hilton but was told the rate Trivago quoted was fake and that the new room rate would be basically 2x the quote so we went ahead and booked to be assured a room but as fate would have it a huge winter storm was about to hit Philadelphia on Feb 22/26 so American Airlines contacted us and wanted to get us out early and so with that news we called to cancel the Hilton room incase someone else need it because the airport was to shut down because of the blizzard but Hilton refused to give us a refund ,they said the cancelation was to short so no Refund ...figures... so Hiltons are now Off our list of Hotels we will consider

This is a scam

This is a scam. You don’t get these many bad rating thru bad management. This is multi layer deception and their support people have been trained to steal. Fake case numbers, 2 virus attacks on my email account, fake customer support names that they couldn’t keep straight. Email threads from customer support that disappear if you reply. Phone that plays hold music till you finally hang up.I talked to 6 different people who lied to me about an assortment of things and never anything they said was done.. These thieves are connected to trivago. Plan on reporting to my state attorney general to stop them from doing business in my area

This site is a SCAM!!!

This site is a SCAM!!!! DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!!!

My family of four went to a cruise for Christmas' holiday and we booked a hotel room, for one night, through Algotels. The price was CAD 211, in Fort Lauderdale.

We've got there midnight, and there was no room confirmed for us. We called them and they apologized, saying there is nothing they can do. We ended up paying US 246, and three hours later we were in the room.

Algotels refunded CAD 211, but not the difference.

Extremely tiring and frustrated experience for us and our two kids.

Please avoid this company!!!!

I made a reservation on expedia but got a confirmation from Algotels. I contact the hotel to confirm my reservation and they told me that they declined the reservation and said Algotels was to contact me to let me know and refund me the money. I contacted Algotels and they keep transferring you to different departments and are not helpful. I am only out $270 but I know some people are out thousands. The hotel let me know that they have done this to numerous customers and the chances of getting a refund is slim to none.

Classic "one star is too much review"

Classic "one star is too much review". No customer service at all. Price actually more than if you go direct. Con, rip off, bad. Can't believe I booked though them without reading reviews. My mistake.
Please please dont give them your money. Rip off. Multiple attempts to get through to them results in nothing.

Booked a stay through AlgoHotels…

Booked a stay through AlgoHotels (Trip#12305305) and had a disappointing experience.

My confirmed voucher clearly stated “Single Shared Room” with no mention of a female-only dormitory. However, when I arrived at the hostel, I was told my reservation was for a female dorm and I had to pay an additional £5 to move to a suitable dorm.

This extra charge was not disclosed at the time of booking. I have contacted customer support and am currently waiting for resolution.

I hope AlgoHotels reviews this case and improves transparency in room descriptions to avoid similar issues for other travellers.

Positive Recent Buyer Experience

I was booking through Trivago to take a trip to Atlanta for a four day work conference and I only saw it was routed to Algotels, who had sketchy online reviews, after I had already made my purchase! A lot of the negative feedback seemed to be from folks who had to cancel their reservation last minute or had something come up but there was a handful of people saying they had a good experience as long as they didn’t cancel their trip plans! That ended up working for me as well as I booked the Hilton in Midtown Atlanta and I got my confirmation email immediately as well as a paid receipt voucher and within six hours, I got a booking confirmation from the hotel via text. I had initially booked overnight, but later that day I called the hotel on my way down and they confirmed that I was on the guest registry and everything has gone well since so I wanted to leave a review here for anybody else who was worried in case they inadvertently booked with Trivago or Algotels too! Just don’t cancel last minute and you won’t have to worry about getting a fast refund, with all due respect to anyone who has to cancel for emergencies

Bargain Price - All Worked Out Fine

I booked a pre-cruise hotel in Miami for 2 nights, via the Trivago comparison website, where Algotels came out SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper, albeit for a non-changeable/ non-refundable booking. It was only after making the booking that I read all the negative reviews and I was somewhat concerned. Also the hotel voucher I received didn't inspire me with confidence. I therefore contacted the hotel to independently verify the booking, however, they were unable to confirm and referred me back to Algotels, who they said were responsible for the reservation. I hoped for the best... but in the end IT ALL WORKED OUT FINE. I checked into the hotel without any problems.

I am unable to comment on how Algotels respond when things go wrong or if a booking requires amendment.

However, I knowingly booked a room on a non-refundable basis, which is always a risk if plans should change. In my case I got a real bargain, based on hotel rates for the period. It was worth the risk, and Algotels delivered. I also knew I had some protection by paying via credit card.

First class customer experience

Made a booking through Trivago for 7 nights in Corfu as a surprise for my wife. The deal was great, booking process was easy, received a confirmation email from Algotels straight away and another first thing the following day. Gave the good news to my wife the next day to be told that whilst a nice thought it clashes with a wedding we are going to. I rang Algotels the next day to explain my situation and asked to cancel. The lady(Forzia) reassured me that it was fine and said she would pass my request to the cancellation team. I received an automated email to confirm this then a personalised email from her 30 minutes later explaining I would receive contact within 24hours. 12 hours later I received a phone call from cancellations, asked if I would like to move the booking, have an account credit or a full refund. I opted for a refund and the agent (Juviv) immediately processed it , informing me it would take 3-10 working days. I received an email confirmation from her within minutes and then another confirming the cancellation a day later. The monies appeared in my account 2 days later. The service I received was personal, friendly and efficient. I would have no hesitation in using Algotels in the future and thank both Forzia and Juviv for providing a first class customer experience.

Guests Worst Nightmare

This was a nightmare. I have been trying to get in contact with Escalations for over 24 hours, since check-in. I was told by customer service two times that I would get a call back with 15-30 minutes, but I had to call back both times. The second time I told the rep that I was not holding anymore, after 10 minutes, he got an attitude and hung up on me. Since then I’ve been told to wait on hold, so now I am responding via email.

Basically, I called the rep and asked to check that our hotel pool was operational. He confirmed two times, and said he checked and that it is working and operational. We checked into the hotel today and the entire hotel is being renovated and there is no operational pool. This is very disappointing as we only booked this hotel for that reason. We requested a full refund but was told since we checked out and utilized the stay, then the refund was not available. Even though these spineless, lying, scamming cowards promised me a refund and wouldn’t have to check out. They are nothing more than a failure of a business model from top to bottom. The reps we spoke with were Gee and Jhon, along with their worthless manager, Juan. Whatever you do, please DO NOT book through them. They WILL fail you.
