PSR force you to move away from good umbrella companies

PSR force you to move away from an Umbrella company who give good service for 3 years to one off their own list who get a much lower user score.I had the unfortunate experience of using ICS ACCOUNTING off this list to process my inside IR35 payments. Despite my contract length and payment terms I only paid 20% tax on the weekly payment, this meant after 8 months I owed HMRC circa £10,000. ICS just washed their hands of it and said it was not their problem leaving me to face the debt. Would recommend NOT using this organisation.

Not an actual job

I applied for a Field Interviewing role with the ONS as advertised on Indeed. I had an interview and was offered a job subject to screening. I was given a start date 4 weeks away. But one week before the start date I received a call to say it had to be delayed. The next week a similar call in which they let slip that the role might not actually even start! At no point was I told this would be a possibility or I would not have stopped my job search. Four weeks later I’m still waiting - nothing in writing received and no further calls . Fortunately - I have now found something else.

I am shocked that they can treat people like this - I signed paperwork confirming my start date and I expected to be earning money from that date.

Please be very cautious if you apply for work with these people.

Awful recruiters

Awful recruiters. Absolutely useless, do not reply even at interview stage. How companies like Microsoft are associated with these is beyond me.

It is important to be transparent

I appreciated the friendly and communicative approach from Alexander Mann Solutions (AMS) throughout the recruitment process. The team maintained consistent engagement, especially regarding salary expectations, which were clearly outlined verbally and in writing across five interview stages for a Project Management role.

However, at the contract signing stage, AMS unexpectedly changed the agreed payment terms. The previously confirmed fixed incremental increases were now described as performance-based, despite assurances throughout the process that these would be guaranteed. This lack of transparency was disappointing.

My key feedback would be for AMS to clearly communicate any performance-related conditions from the outset. The refusal to honor the previously agreed terms ultimately left me with no option but to decline the offer.

more spamming scum - just look at their reviews

Texted me to say they had a flexible remote position for me. Not that I knew who they were.

As it was so vague I asked them what my name was and how they got my details (I'm not looking for a job). They said they got my details from THE companies personnel database. Mine or theirs I asked? no answer.

What's my name then? No answer.

All they want is more of my information so they can set me up with a Whatsapp conversation with the person in charge. Who is that? no answer.

they're offering 200-500 a day. What £, $ pence?

just another bunch of jokers who are going out of their way to gain my personal details.

Shockingly incompetent

Shockingly incompetent, interviewed with them on behalf of nationwide, colleague rang me 40 minutes late for BOTH stages of the interview, told me that my 1 month notice period would be absolutely fine, was given a provisional offer for the job, then a second colleague who took over for the next stage of the interviews told me he would contact later in the morning, didn't contact me until well in the afternoon saying he'd arranged for me to start the following week!! During this time, the checks they make mean that your current employer has to be contacted meaning my manager now knows of my intention to leave. They tried to rectify their mistake by talking to the branch manager but eventually, Nationwide said they could not accommodate my months notice, and withdrew their offer. So I've wasted all this time and effort filling out their absurd list of details, that they will absolutely hound you for, that they don't even properly read, for nothing!! If you're applying for a job that is accredited through them... Stay well away!!!!

Data Protection - so much for your rights !

I applied for a job via AMS who were acting on behalf of a globalist British Engineering manufacturer client in the defence sector. After 4 weeks a senior AMS consultant contacted me to arrange an interview with their client.
Overall when the rejection came through it was via email and offered me the chance to have my data removed from their system which I felt was in my better interest given I would not want to go through such a drawn out process where communication was not what one should expect from a company (& their client) who pride themselves on professionalism and clarity of communication, notwithstanding the consultant changed and client had staff on holiday. I certainly wouldn't recommend AMS or their client due to their inability to keep me informed of my application progress. They are not alone, in my 30 yrs of dealing with recruitment "consultants" the majority have given me the impression that "we do as little as possible for our fee". The recruitment sector is badly in need of regulation and a customer charter particularly on Data Protection, AMS just happen to be part of that sector.

29 July 24: email from their senior consultant included:
"We would however, like to stay in touch – we’ll retain your details for 12-months from the date of your application or any subsequent contact to enable us to match you to any future suitable assignments.

After this 12-month period, your personal data will be removed from AMS’s system. HOWEVER, you may request the removal of your personal data from AMS’s system prior to this by emailing Resourcing Technologies Helpdesk with "Remove my Details" in the subject title". which I did:

29 July 24: I sent the "Remove my details" request and received the "We’re pleased to advise that the ticket you raised has now been resolved and the status of your ticket is now ‘Closed’ also on 29 July.

8 Aug 24: I receive via email
We are writing to you to provide you with an update to your request raised 02/08/2024:

We have completed our data discovery and in conclusion we are unable to delete the personal data that we hold at this time. We have marked your profile to restrict the processing of your data and after 12 months from the point of last activity on your profile your data will be automatically deleted.

Under article 17, section 3 (e) we are exempt from having to delete data in respect to your request made under article 17 (the right to erasure) for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.

Whilst we will do everything, we can ensure that you are not contacted, we do operate with other client services and our teams use different client databases, without record of you, AMS staff may still approach you in the future, particularly should your information be available publicly such as on job boards, or LinkedIn.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at (their email address here I have removed) should you have any questions.

So much for being able to get you data removed !
AMS, in my view at least justify their poor rating on Trustpilot which appears to give a true and fair view.

Absolute shower of....

Repeatedly tried to bully me off my umbrella company with no legal reason given. They insist on a select few. one wonders about any financial relationships they may have in place with their chosen band of suppliers.

Additionally, recruiters seem to know very, very little about the jobs they're pitching or the clients they spam with CVs.

Beware

Applied for a remote role via Indeed. No contact for 4 weeks ….then a WhatsApp message on a Sunday afternoon from an American number, asking if I’d like my contact details sharing with other recruiters, who would contact me via WhatsApp. Beware.
