**** update Oliver the manager called as requested and has shown some actually logic business ackroment and agreed to just replace the damaged panel and collect the rejected one opposed to returning the whole order and loosing the whole sale ******

I’ve reviewed these, and the damage appears to be quite minimal. This type of marking can sometimes occur with natural wood panels and is usually not very noticeable once installed.

That said, we do understand your concern and want to help resolve this for you.

I have spoken to them today and they have no complaints procedure and have essentially said they do not think that there is any damage and I have to return all of the goods to them as they will not replace just the one panel
The cs agent told me they were irritated on the call …. No words for this

Website was easily accessible processing the order was exceptionally easy.

I'm looking forward to receiving the product at this point and seeing if it's as formal as I'm hoping it is

Order number 11400. Avoid Avoid. I am in the USA and my panels came in as expected but they smell. At first I thought it was something that would disappear but day after day I need my windows open regardless of the temp outside in order to not be gassed out of my office. I called the 302 number on the website. She answered but told me she never heard of this. I called back and she said she would follow up but never did. I tried calling to day and the number just rings and rings.

I recently purchased the Aku wood panels because I wanted a high end look and appreciated that your panels had fully wrapped oak veneer on front and sides. I found the cutting of the panels to be very clean, and the panels have good rigidity. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

Just finished up a large order with Tiffany at Akuwoodpanel after receiving beautiful samples in the mail. Not only is their product far superior to anything else on the market their attention to detail and communication is five star. I am one very happy client.

We ordered multiple panels over 1 month ago. I have since sent 3 emails and contacted them on their website to get an update on the order. Zero response. No one picks up when calling their phone lines. I suspect they have gone under.

My client purchased these panels after looking at several different companies. We liked these because they have real wood veneer on 3 sides and look very nice.

There was an mis communication between myself, who had never worked with this product and the person who calculated the totals for me.

Once the panels were installed, the client had 8 boxes left over that she wanted to return. Due to the mis calculation in the material needed, I asked for help with the shipping costs because they are expensive to return. Tiffany, the customer service rep was unwilling to provide any kind of help with shipping. The one suggestion she had still makes my client responsible for shipping costs.

In addition many of the panels did not come close to matching - some variation is expected with wood.

It's frustrating as a designer to try to build relationships with vendors who are not interested in providing good customer service or to work with you to ensure the quality of the final product.

These panels are more expensive than most, which raises the expectation of the consumer. Overall, it was not a positive experience. I would buy the less expensive panels in the future, this company is not worth the money.

Just ordered a sample at the
moment but it looks great and I will be ordering the full panels in a few weeks time. The sample arrived quickly and is great quality.

Excellent quality product, easy to cut, beautiful colour

Really pleased with the panels. I needed panels that were finished on the front and sides as I installed them on a staircase so were visible from all angles.
Prompt delivery and well packaged. Panels were fairly easy to cut, (I personally found a very fine jigsaw blade worked the best).
I have no hesitation in recommending this product.

The online description & colours matched the sample that I requested, this was not the case with other suppliers.
I have just sent my ordered through.

February 5th placed the order.

February 12th was excited to finally get it but alas instead of 3 pieces received 1. Reported issue right away and they said they would arrange to send the remaining panels.

February 19th - no panels, no communication, dead silence.

[UPDATE] February 19th - they still have not shipped the panels as they are waiting for some proof of delivery from shipment company for the previous 1 panel they shipped. Why???.... WHY? What is that solving?

I have also asked for a refund at this stage which they initiqally refused.

After an email fight on February 19th, on February 20th, I finally recieved the remainimg panels. I never recieved a replacement or refund for the wrong end bit, so we had to improvise there when installing.

I do regret ordering from this shop. The amount of time I spent fighting with them was so draining that I didn't want these panels anymore.

There are other, propely Irish suppliers, who do 3-sided acoustic panels.

Panels do look nice when installed but the veneer is very thin and I am thinking of varnishing it at least.

I purchased three 240 cm Grey Walnut Wooden Wall Panels to install in two alcoves in my lounge to improve the aesthetics and acoustics. I needed to use one full panel and one-half panel in each alcove. Aku Woodpanels website states “Feel free to compare our panels with those from other providers, you will notice the difference in quality” and “At Aku Woodpanel, we value quality.”
I was hugely disappointed by the quality of the products. The panels do not meet their own dimensional specifications as stated on their website! Unfortunately, I only discovered this after I had already mounted the full panels in each alcove. Fortunately, I had opted to use mechanical fixings rather than bond the panels directly to the wall. I then had to remove the panels from the wall and modify them to bring them to the correct specification.
Due to my experience in engineering and quality management I was able to identify the root cause of the problem and communicate this to their sales team. It seems there are insufficient process controls within their manufacturing process. Consequently, the 13 mm gap between battens is not consistent. Consequently, the long protruding edge of acoustic felt which should be 19 mm is actually 21 mm. Therefore, when you mount the panels on the wall and butt the panels side by side there is a much larger 15 mm gap between the battens, than the design intent 13 mm gap. This larger gap is clearly visible to the naked eye and looks awful.
Why the key characteristic of the panels is not adequately controlled within the manufacturing process is beyond comprehension.
I am sure they will respond to this feedback stating it was a ‘one-off incident’. However, the issue was present on all three panels. It is clear there are two failures in this instance. Firstly, they do not seem to control the manufacturing process sufficiently to ensure the parts are manufactured correctly. Secondly, they do not seem to be inspecting the panels to confirm they meet their own specification. It seems their expectation is for the customer to check the quality of the panels, rather than them as the manufacturer.
Whilst they eventually agreed to a small discount, it did not make amends for the significant inconvenience and aggravation of having to rework their product to get it to their stated specification. As I am sure you will understand, it is difficult to provide positive feedback or recommendation for this product.

It is not clear if you spoke with your colleagues before responding .. However, just to clarify the situation, I have already provided objective photographic evidence of the inadequate quality of the products. To include photos of the parts showing the dimension of 21 mm, that according to your own specification stated on the website should be 19 mm. The fault was 100% due to inadequate quality control in your manufacturing process, nothing else.
It baffles me that having reviewed the photos showing the obvious defect, you somehow still think it occurred during shipment. I can only assume you are not familiar with the notion of quality control.
Your statement “We would like to emphasise our panels are produced according to defined specifications and undergo quality checks prior to dispatch.” Only serves to support my comment that you do not adequately inspect your products. If they had been adequately inspected, they would never have left your premises.
The fact the panels did not meet your own published specifications, but were still delivered to me tells me everything I need to know about the effectiveness of your co called ‘quality checks’ ..
